All orders cancelled with no reason

I tried to order a number of college textbooks on Sept 5, but two days after confirming my order it was cancelled. I missed the cancelation email but noticed I was never charged about two weeks later. I figured something had gone wrong and re-ordered the books on Sept 20. One day later that order was also cancelled. Confused, but wondering if a problem with a single book would hold up the entire order instead of just being removed from the order, I ordered 4 books on 4 different orders on Sept 24. All 4 orders were cancelled with the same generic, non-informative message on Sept 27.

All of the books I attempted to order are still showing up in search on their site, so it's baffling to me what is going wrong. If they're not actually in stock, or the (multiple, different) vendors that had them on offer weren't making them available, then why have they been on the site for weeks?

They refunded/wiped out all the charges, so I don't think this is an outright scam, but it's still super frustrating.

They Made It Right

I attempted to sell Valore a good-as-new textbook. It was rejected for "Wrong ISBN/Binding" with no more detail than that but to refer me to their acceptance policies online.

When I originally entered the ISBN on their site, a picture of my exact book was provided. I contacted customer service by email and was told "Our warehouse does not keep detailed notes on the exact defect that disqualifies the book for acceptance." and "we use the ISBN found on the publisher's page inside the item as the ISBN on the back may pertain to a bundle package (Book + code)". Previous contact with C.S. informed me that the CD that originally came with the book was not required to be provided for used books. The excuse does not satisfy me or make any sense. There is no info on their site about where I should be pulling the ISBN despite other extensive guidelines, and the picture proves that it is clearly the correct book. And other websites say to just get the ISBN from the back of the book. If they want to go by a different ISBN, why don't they just change it in their system? The book is a total reject?

They offered to waive the fee to send the book back to me "...unless I'm contacted by a representative informing me otherwise". But I have to wait 14-21 business days. Again, not satisfied. I want the book returned immediately, with no caveats, or substituted with an inferior copy, so I can attempt to submit it to a more legitimate business. I am extremely perturbed at having my time wasted and feel like they're attempting to get me to give up the book for free. I've seen many reviews on here complaining of the same issues as myself, which is likely why they were immediately willing to make concessions and waive the return fee. They have no phone support, but to their credit, customer service has always responded to my messages within a couple hours, if not minutes.

9/30/21 Update:
I took Valore up on the offer to have my situation re-evaluated. They wound up telling me that "...the warehouse can't locate the book, which means they found a buyer for it." So they paid me what they originally offered. A questionable claim, or how would they do the accounting for their business? But C.S. made it right in the end.

We have also upgraded our return shipping carrier to UPS so your returned item should not take more than 5-7 days. I AM SO FURIOUS!
I ordered a textbook for my son for college. I received a confirmation with a link to track it. I tried to track it today and saw that it had been cancelled. Supposedly the seller had already sold it but "didn't get a chance to remove it from the website." I ended up ordering from Ebay and paid double the price but at least I know he will receive it. I wouldn't be so irritated had the seller sent an email apologizing for the mistake and letting me know that the order had been cancelled instead of it being a surprise!

Do not sell to them!!!

I have sent my books to three different companies. I chose who would pay the highest. The only company that has given me a hard time is Valore Books. They are trying to tell me I have a fake book. What a bunch of crap. I purchased all 5 of my books from the same bookstore. They owe me $18! I don’t need the cash but I will fight them till I get paid all based on principal. I am a graduate student, so needless to say, I’ve purchased and sold many books over the years. Never had a single problem until this horrible company.

Do Not Use for Sell Back

I used Valorebooks to sell back a couple of textbooks recently. My entire order was rejected. One books for supposedly being an international edition and one for being an instructors edition. I bought both of these at my college bookstore, I don't understand or believe that they are those editions, especially the instructors edition. The isbns I inputed straight from the books that gave me a price quote came out fine. I know for a fact that I didnt have the instructors edition, as I used the book for my class and it absolutely didn't have an answers in it. It's extremely shady to offer small amounts for books, find some false reasons to reject and then force the consumer to pay 5 dollars shipping each book to receive the rejected books. I know now to make the effort to sell back books in person do I cannot get scammed out of books they will most likely take and resell. I'm frustrated and feeling cheated. Do not use Valorebooks, make the effort and sell back books in person, on Barnes and Noble, or Amazon, even if it's less money.

Misleading advertising and contradictory disclaimers

Valorebooks was top option/vendor on Gettextbooks.com for value at $88. I was trying to find a text that should include digital access, which was included in the description, but when I got to the page to purchase on Valorebooks the price was more than double what was advertised and it had a disclaimer that stated regardless of what the description states it does not include the CDs/online Access or sup materials! WHAT for $175 and advertised for $88 + ship???

Therefore we cannot always guarantee any rates advertised on another site. We can't control how often an external site updates our prices and I'm sorry for the experience!

DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR RESALES

I "sold" a textbook back to this company 9/3, and there was a very poor response. First, they "sent the textbook to the publisher to check if it was counterfeit." Even though, there was NO evidence for the book to be counterfeit and NO explanation why they deemed it so. I NEVER received any notification of this happening until I went on their website to see why my payment was taking so long. I reached out to their customer service by email 9/18 and was told it would take 1-3 MONTHS for the publisher to review whether the book was counterfeit. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and set an event in my calendar for 3 months after on 12/21. In that time frame, I NEVER received ANY word from Valore Books. I reached out once again by email, and was told it was deemed to be counterfeit without ANY further explanation or evidence. I truly feel they kept the book and resold it without paying me and blamed the publisher as a scapegoat. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR RESALES.

Poor Customer Service. Their prices are good, but service is poor. They're very slow in getting books shipped out, and if there's a problem, you can forget about getting any help. No phone number and they don't respond to emails

My book sale was returned as ISBN…

My book sale was returned as ISBN number did not match - which does not make sense as I used the book to look up the ISBN number when making the sales order. Then when I tried to request to return my book back, it did not work after I selected to return back to me online and clicked on pay the return fees with PayPals, nothing happened I tried it multiple times. So basically they stole my book!!!

Terrible experience

Terrible experience! I ordered my book on march 3 and paid 6.99 for expedite shipping! I supposed to get it 2-5 business days! Today is march 15 and I didn’t receive my book yet! Don’t count on this website for the given delivery time!

DO NOT SELL YOUR BOOKS BACK TO THIS COMPANY. They accepted my books for buyback on 2/10 with 14 business day processing for payment (which is ridiculous in itself). It has been over a month now, 3/13/20 and still no issue of payment. Have been told the finance dept is having "technical difficulties"...I am sure they are having NO difficulties accepting payments from buyers. POOR customer service and no end in sight for me!! Heed this warning!!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Charged me for a book that wasn’t in stock and so wasn’t shipped and they just send generic emails when I request a refund. Going to have to get my bank to dispute the charge.

I bought a book

I bought a book, then promptly cancelled the purchase. I received confirmation of the cancellation, and was told I would receive a refund within a few days. It has now been 28 days since my purchase, and still no refund. I sent 2 emails and they responded to both saying that they would "send a note to the accounting department." My last email (sent 4 days ago) said that I would file a dispute and a complaint with the state. No response. Terrible company. Avoid at ALL costs!
