I like the borrow option
I like the borrow option. I don’t like that you guys only update until the next day after the deposit hit. I would love a chance at the lending option but it won’t open for some reason even though I’ve been working to meet the standards to it. And I don’t like that my borrow didn’t go up because the wrong account was linked to my account wich I guess is my fault. I hope the mending option be available soon and it be the 2k I can really use it and I know my payments will boost my credit even more

They can't be trusted
I've been with Varo for years and I've come to the conclusion that they can't be trusted. I have wanted to close my account several times after interactions with their customer service team and after my last interaction I am finally leaving. I deposited a mobile check (mind you I have MORE than enough money in my account to cover it). Even though the check was accepted, I got an email saying it was rejected and that my account was flagged and suspended. I reached out, and they assured me my account was fine. This morning I get an email that my check was rejected because it's over the limit that was apparently set AFTER the check was accepted. I reached out again and was told there was nothing that could be done and that I needed to wait until this phantom limit reset. Without exposing how much money I have, I could've covered this check many times over. I'm not comfortable after this last interaction leaving that kind of money with them. I would not recommend Varo. They can't be trusted. I will be moving my money and closing my account today.

They never wanted to fix the problem of giving the person that referred me any kind of incentive that it says so on the site so NO THEY WILL NOT HELP THE PERSON THAT REFERRED YOU .And they didnt even try to help me getting that person who referred me anything. So no this site is NOT A GOOD ONE.

To be honest
To be honest, at one point I would give them a 5 but now as a previous customer of 3 years thats not the case. I'm not thrilled with that chat box of theirs but it is what it is. I remember when I got the prepaid credit card and how it could raise my credit score and it has, by 40 points and I was up to a $400 advance with them than about a month or so ago I had a flashing notice on my account that said I needed to pay $1073 on my credit card, well my first response was thats obviously sent to the wrong person, I went over a penny once on my limit and they declined my purchase so tell me how could I go over a $1000 ?? No freaking way...on a prepaid credit card. They assured me accounting checked it twice and yet when I reconciled my account for that month with a bookkeeper friend of mine which was my occupation before I retired, we could not see it at all. This was about 5 weeks ago, I just stopped talking with them to try a clear it up. I'm 65, my credit is the least of my worries. I know I dont owe it on a prepaid card and yet asking them why did you let me go over $1000, they have no answer... Up till that point I would say they were awesome, the best,I was proud to say that Varo was my bank but today I'm starting over with a walk in bank now. Varo has scared me with not being able to show me any proof of that $1000 overage. I've tried to close my account yet they wont do it and yes I still owe my $400 advance which I've been taking my time on paying back ....I know it doesn't make things right but I'm mad about their mistake and I firmly believe its an accounting issue.

Terrible app
No overdraft, can't get an advance. Switched my direct deposit to them and can't get an advance even though their commercial said you can get an advance on day 1. That's a a lie. Crazy how they let me get a $20 advance when my direct deposit was with another bank and now that I switched my direct deposit to them and paid back the $20 they let me borrow 4 days earlier, I can't get an advance and have to meet all kinds of crazy qualifications. No customer service l, etc. Just a terrible all around app and highly regret switching my direct deposit to them. False advertising seems to be a massive issue with these online "banks"

Es una excelente opcion
Es una excelente opcion, solo que hay que ser paciente con los retiros y depositos ya que es un banco que estas en crecimiento, es una Gran opcion para jovenes que comienzan a construir su credito, ya que con la Varo believe pueden aprender a manejar su dinero para no acumular deudas.
It’s an excellent option, though you do need to be patient with deposits and withdrawals since it is a growing bank. It’s a great choice for young people just starting to build credit, as the Varo Believe card helps them learn to manage their money and avoid accumulating debt.
