Out tutor is great. The billing is confusing and they're very easy to get ahold of when you're signing up, the response is a wait when resolution is requested. I am very pleased with the lessons and... See more

I really appreciate the patience and encouragement Ms. Cynthia gives my granddaughter. She gives her the confidence to try and not get frustrated. She keeps her engaged and takes the time to take a break and encourage her to talk of her day, activities or interests when she sees she is getting distracted.
Avoid the 20-minute sales trap. Varsity Tutors uses high-pressure tactics to customize a program that isn't actually custom. They kept me on the phone for 20 minutes by probing into my fears about my child's academic future under the guise of personalized pricing. However, a friend called, spent only 5 minutes on the phone, and was quoted the exact same rates: $349 for 4 hours or $639 for 8 hours. The consultation is just an emotional play to get you to buy. Don't waste your time.

They are very professional, my daughter likes her tutors, when they are in session, my daughter feels very confident.
Never returning to this company again due to their billing shadiness. I paused a membership back in mid January of this year and noticed a charge on 2/24. When I called them to ask for a refund, they informed me that their policy is to - get this - pause for up to 30 days and then resume charging the account. No one explained this to me. In fact, when I contacted customer service, I wanted to cancel the account but was encouraged to just pause it. When I informed the agent, "I will reach back out to Varsity Tutors to cancel," at no time did he say, "Actually, our policy is that we will resume the membership after a 30 day pause." I informed the agent that Varsity Tutors needed to refund my money and his response is that it is Varsity Tutors' policy to make a "refund request" where my request is reviewed and then Varsity Tutors makes the determination as to whether or not they will refund. After the call with Varsity Tutors, I immediately called my bank to initiate a call back. I will never do business with this company again. They have clearly prioritized making money at any cost as opposed to operating with integrity.

They have called me more than once for weeks and when I called back to tell them I didn’t need their service, the lady hung up on me. Very unprofessional I would never recommend to anyone.

Lisa has gone to great lenghts to explain everything and has been a delight to work with.
I’ve been taking Italian language lessons with Varsity Tutors (Elena Rougier) for 2 months, and I’m very impressed with Elena’s preparation and flexibility to adapt her teaching to my level! She has been extremely helpful and ready to add topics when I ask for more information! I have a trip to Italy soon, and now I’m ready to absorb more from my Italian experience!
the tutor i was given was excellent in teaching me QuickBooks. i would recommend him for anyone looking for help.
I was looking for urgent help as I had interview in about 2 week. I have called versity tutor to get information and after that they keep calling me to book session and promise me to fulfill my requirements but after the payment done the service was not provided. first the session was booked and conformed by tutor but it it getting canceled by tutor at the end time so I need to keep calling and wast my time. It is keep adding more hours to my sessions than what I have booked to calendar. I fill like my money and time both got wasted with this service better I have studied my self. I didn't get single session of help so far even after paying this big amount.
just to add more the tutor show up after so many email and call follow up and on session she mention she is not aware about what is rest assured api and karate api at all even though that was the the topic I needed help with.

I contacted this company to tutor my son. Spoke with a man for 40 minutes about the sessions. I signed up for the larger package. I thought they were 1 hour sessions which they are in fact but once they matched the tutor and scheduled him one day a week for one hour I thought I had misunderstood and they must be 30 minute sessions combined to make the hour therefor getting his 8 sessions. When I finally decided the hour was too much for him and to change it to 30 minute sessions was when I realized they never scheduled us properly for the larger package which was in fact 8 1 hour sessions a week. So we were paying for 4 sessions a week that we never received for 2 months. I simply wanted a refund of my money for the unused hours. The company refused a refund. Also my son never had an assessment to find out where he was in terms of what help was required by the company. The tutor we worked was wonderful and patient with my son. It's a shame the company gives you a sense of relief that someone is finally going to be able to help your child and in reality they want to take your money and site a contract that unless your a lawyer isn't something your understanding. If you take someone's money for a service that isn't rendered your at fault not the consumer.

I like my Tutor. She instills the desire for me to learn so that I do not disssppint her!
Karsten Kim was phenomenal…very trusting, reliable and followed up on all his promises. He was very compassionate and attentive to my needs showing genuine interest and care for my concerns and questions. Well
Done. 👍 also the lady that originally took my call was fantastic- super impressed.
They told me I would receive an assessment it never happened. What they didn’t tell me was that I’d be charged monthly my original quote. I only found out after calling to ask about the assessment I never received.
The tutor was slow, unprepared, and had no resources to teach. They added an extra hour so the tutor could try to complete the assessment, but even then, it wasn’t done. The one hour sessions were $90 each.
When I asked for a refund, I was told I couldn’t get one. I never even used the hours I paid for, just the free one they gave for the tutor do an assessment on his own. I spoke with three different reps, all saying I’d have to wait for a manager which would take days. To make it worse, they told me that if I called to check on my refund request, it would be pushed back even further. A manager had 24 to 48 hours to get back to me and if I were to call that 24 and 48 hours would restart. Please save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Avoid this company entirely.
