I got intelligent, honest answers to decently technical questions that demonstrated they were thinking about the important problems in the space and addressing an explicit set of them. Sounds like a solid team over there.

vast.ai web chat support is excellent! They are always there and when I ask questions I often get answers in 5 minutes or less. The people available know how get most problems fixed right away and for the really strange they has second tier support they get answers from.

The platform is great! The individual machines can vary in reliability but the support is amazing and very responsive and helpful!

for us all creatives getting into computing cause the machine is getting powerful to the point it is a net loss to not learn to incorporate it into the workflow. two points. one, find good value server option by the $rate charged of internet usage and the $rate of disk storage fee, so when you move your file online, it cost less, and, while you are idle, the disk rental fee won't bite much. two, we are not a code guy, forget about prompting in the machine terminal like a true IT guy, I use template, and I set up cloud drive to change around files there, I go around everything so I don't need to code anything inside the rented pc cause it is not a windows/mac, no graphical user interface. the vast.ai interface setting up cloud syncing is what I ended up having trouble, the user need to make a specific folder in google drive/dropbox/cloud, by default you should name it "workspace", it is the exact name of your rented computer, it act as the root of your folder, it is neat this way; then, when you sync, at the time of writing, it is confusing, user need to click the right side thingy as "sync from cloud/instance", it goes from both direction, you need to do it twice, to get the file into your rented computer, and to get the file from your rented pc back to your own cloud drive.
