I was reassured by Mr Daniel Ablett - Vascular Consultant
I chose the VeinCentre Edinburgh because of their positive reviews and the expertise of a vascular surgeon.
Mr Ablett was pleasant, efficient, and listened.
He showed me, with an explanation what he was seeing during the doppler scan.
Most importantly for me, at the end of the consultation and scan he did not pressure me in any way to proceed with further treatment. I was presented with the diagnosis and permitted to arrive at my own decision. Overall, I was reassured that my symptoms were not venous insufficiency (which was my concern) and was superficial varicose veins which could be treated with microscleropathy.
I am currently mulling over my next step. If I decide to proceed it will certainly be with the Edinburgh VeinClinic and Mr Ablett.
I also have to mention Janet the receptionist who was pleasant and chatty. We had travelled a distance and she ensured my husband and I had a nice cup of tea/coffee with biscuits!

Varicose vein removal
I have had varicose veins in my leg for a number of years over the last two years they started to become sore so I decided to enquire about getting something done . I decided to go to the vein centre , Edinburgh as it was my nearest one and the reviews were good. From my initial phone call enquiry to my last procedure the staff at the call centre and the surgery were all very professional and friendly . On my first consultation Dr Ablette examined my legs and then explained the procedures that would be needed and gave me the costs involved. I decided to go ahead with the procedures I required two procedures first one was endogenous laser ablation (EVLA) with a follow up foam sclerotherapy procedure.
Dr Ablette and the nurse were great constantly checking I was ok and explaining what they were doing .There was some ouchey bits during the first procedure but not to bad . Walked out of clinic , recovery from first procedure went well and went back six weeks later for the follow up this was a quick easy procedure.
I am extremely happy with the results I have had the confidence to wear shorts in public again and have had no pain, in fact I’ve lived in shorts all summer yes the weather has been exceptional but I would of normally been wearing a long skirt which would have covered my various veins . Yes it was an expense I could have done without but I am so glad I went ahead and got them done.

The best money I've ever spent
Very welcoming and friendly expert team. All procedures were clearly explained and illustrated and carried out with the utmost professionalism. Aftercare was clearly explained and all dressings and medication were provided. The conversation during the procedures was always infomative, interesting, and entertaining. I feel I was in the very best care throughout my visit and could contact them for further advice if required.
The doctor doing my procedure was amazing at explaining everything that was going to happen during my appointment.
All the staff are on hand and very helpful.

Excellent clinical experience
Would have given five stars for the clinical experience which was excellent, but reduced my score to four due to problems in communication on the admin side. I understand this was largely due to teething problems with their new computer system so would hope that this will now be sorted.

Expert Care
I saw Mr Daniel Ablett for treatment at the Edinburgh Clinic. He has a very reassuring manner and explained clearly what the consultation procedure would entail and then the possible treatments available for my particular diagnosis. He also informed me about aftercare and any follow up treatment, if necessary.
I went ahead with the treatment and am very pleased with both how straightforward the procedure was and the results.
I would really recommend Mr Ablett if you are considering varicose vein treatment.

Everyone was very kind and friendly. They explained everything very well and the whole experience was very good.
I'm very pleased with the results. I still have hard veins on my legs 4 months later but I am optimistic that this will fade soon.
