I run Nautical Hosting (disclosing for transparency), and Velocity Nodes' owner started their service after being inspired by mine. They later asked me to help with their server setup, during which I observed practices that don't meet industry standards. Their South Africa location runs on a residential laptop rather than enterprise servers, contradicting their DDoS protection claims. They lack basic security measures like SSH key authentication and have no documentation on data handling procedures. The owner needed assistance with basic Linux configurations, revealing limited technical knowledge for running a hosting business. This appears to be a "summer host" - a hobby operation rather than a professional service. Potential customers should be aware these practices do not meet industry security standards, and I have documentation available if needed

We haven’t used a laptop for hosting in a long time. That was back when we were testing internally before we went public, and that setup hasn’t been active for months. Our production environment now runs on secured infrastructure with SSH-based authentication and multiple layers of MFA to protect our systems.
On the network side, our DDoS protection is fully layered. We combine upstream mitigation with edge protection using TCPShield and Cloudflare. This setup delivers stable and clean traffic across our services. We are not trying to be a temporary host. Our goal is to create a hosting platform that the community can afford and trust.
Since you assisted with an early panel setup months before our launch, I took that as motivation to improve. I completed several Linux courses afterward because I want to be self-sufficient in managing core systems.
For anyone reading this, the installation the reviewer experienced was an early pre-release environment. We reinstalled everything from scratch after that due to issues with the initial build, so it does not reflect our current production systems. This reviewer has also never purchased any service from us.
Because of all this, the information in the review is not accurate or current.
