Great idea - shame about the functionality
The idea is great and I can see they’ve made it as straightforward as possible with a lovely route.
We did the Northumberland one and so can only comment on this one, but the locality took us right into the countryside and the areas we needed to drive through was so remote none of our phones had signal strong enough to work this in real time.
I suspected before we set out that this might have been the case but felt reassured that no one else had reported it.
It would be good if there was a downloadable copy that we could work from should this occur.
As it was, it was a real waste of money as we could only follow a map and missed all the clues.
I feel this is an easy fix really.
We wouldn’t buy another.

Just to clarify, the app doesn’t rely on a mobile phone signal while you are on the route as it uses GPS, which should remain consistent even in more rural areas. That said, we do recommend downloading the route to your phone before leaving the start location. This ensures everything is fully accessible offline and avoids exactly the kind of issue you encountered. We will take on board your suggestion about making this clearer, as we agree it’s an easy fix and could help prevent similar situations.
