We were watching F1

We were watching F1, cannot rewind, so now we are watching Discovery+, at least it is not so complicated. Viaplay sucks! I now understand why Viaplay has such a low rating. This is not what you expect when paying for a service.

Curate's egg

First the good: I am able to watch F1 in the Netherlands on Viaplay and there seem to be a large number of options (on board from different drivers, without commentary etc.). Maybe there are too many options, I never watch anything accept the main broadcast with normal commentary. I am not a native Dutch speaker so I can't really comment on the quality of commentary as some seem to be doing.
Now the not so good: The single worst thing is that if one selects "watch from the beginning" there is a flash of current position before it gets to the beginning. This often gives a momentary glimpse of the current situation of the race which is not what I want. I now know to close my eyes but it shouldn't be necessary. Secondly, it does not save the position of the stream if one stops watch, one starts again from the beginning. Thirdly, finding a programme is so difficult. There seems to be no logic to how things are presented. Finally, I can't login on my Android device and there is no message why, it just presents the same login screen repeatedly. I am an app developer and I wouldn't do this. As a post-script, I keep seeing adverts for the Kardashians which insults my intelligence but hey ho, they give us what we like apparently. That is an indictment if ever there was one...

Horrible counter intuitive I terface

Is Viaplay aware that they have by far the worst app ever? I am not even talking about the quality of the footage, but about the interface. Horrible. Counter intuitive. PLEASE via play, hire some good designers, and start from crash.

Previously had ziggo which waS VEEL beter.

Previously had ziggo which was excellent. Tonight i watched for the
LAST a football match on viaplay. Absolute waste of time! Rebooting etc etc . No wat i am going to waste my time with viaplay anymore. I would rather do without english football than this ellende. Teletext is beter.

Completely a joke

Completely a joke that they have limited the viewing for only EU even tho you have been paying for long periods of time and have address in Denmark just because you choose to go on vacation you suddenly loose the right for streaming and enjoying the content you are paying for

will not recommend this service and the customer service is not helpful on anyway possible so now I have to pay double money to be able to watch a sports event

In regards to the restriction to only EU-viewing - this is clearly stated when you sign up to Viaplay, before you even as much as enter your first name.

The reason being that the rights Viaplay have acquired for the different content on the platform is limited to viewing in the EU. Therefore, it is quite simply illegal for us to show this outside of the Union (and a selected few countries outside of the Union where Viaplay also operate).

You are on the contrary not locked into a long contract when signing up to Viaplay, that extends further than the month your pay for.
This is in part done, so our customers can tailor their subscription to their needs on a month-to-month basis, and up/down-grade as needed or even cancel for a period, if it is unnecessary for whatever reason.

I'm sorry to hear if your dissatisfaction with Viaplay, but in this case it has been clearly marketed as a service available in the EU, and therefore I also see fit to explain this here.

Incredibly unreliable, lack of stability & Eng subtitles.

Incredibly unreliable stability. Despite Youtube, Netflix, Disneyplus, Crunchyroll, CuriosityStream, and various random third party streaming bootleg sites all stream at the same time, they're somehow still more stable than ViaPlay.

ViaPlay randomly refuses to buffer properly, often for hours or days at a time, despite the internet connection and router being fine on literally any other service. Not a single other service I've had in my life has had such regular and disruptive stablility issues.

In addition, there are plenty of people in the Northern EU market that would dramatically much more prefer English subs over Danish, or any of the other available languages. English subs are so easy to do, you could get it done for less than a smartphone's worth pr movie.

But instead they insist on poor stability with few options and not even that good of a price, ontop of quickly disappearing shows.

The selection tends to be decent though. Their movie series collections are nice.

No reaction via messenger

No reaction via messenger, until now i got one standard feedback on a mail of 2 months ago after 1 month.
Placed a messenger chat yesterday no reaction.
Cannot stream viaplay F1 in Switzerland while i could when it was on Ziggo, so the service is not the same as on ziggo,,,, ! Had to take a F1 TV subscription now, can i please send the bill to viaplay?

Im not sharing my login

Im not sharing my login, however if I watch the streaming of F1 on my phone on my way back home and turn on the TV it will show that too many people are logged in at the moment and I can't watch it. Even when I turn my phone completely off. This is getting ridiculous I understand sharing paswords cuts into profits however atleast allow us to use 3 devices like phone laptop and tv. It's not like im sharing my pasword with a entire football team. This is already the second race im missing now. So after writing this review I'll cancel my subscribtion and buy F1 TV instead. Hopefully Ziggo will start streaming F1 again cause the image quality dropped back a couple decades and the pre-show, interviews and live commentary are the quality of a local tv station.

What's up with all the crime series/movies?

I have Viaplay for a while now.
While there is room for improvement, the overall experience is pleasant.
However... I would like to address this to the person who selects what series and movies to add (I suspect he/she is completely crime/thriller horny)... PLEASE add some Sci-Fi, Comedy, Fantasy, Action, Horror... anything EXCEPT the, already overwhelmingly present, crime/thriller c**p that is flooding the service!

Good selection of shows but..

Good selection of shows, movies and series, but the lack of English subtitles pretty much makes it a deal breaker for us (my girlfriend does not understand Danish). So off to another streaming service we go. I rate it three stars because of the fact that's it's basically unusable for us, but if they fix that, it's a 4 star.

Thank you for distroying our F1 pleasure. I am excited to tell you how much we love to listen to your commentator team. They realy know how to suck all emotion away from the sport we all love. The fact that you chose for C. Kwalbers instead of a real diver with passion speeks for it self. Every time you putt a microphone under his mouth more fans turn off their tv. Just as N. Heemskerk. What a disaster have you created. Blah blah blah....

Het klopt dat veranderingen op z'n tijd nodig zijn en dat dit vaak even moet wennen, maar sport is emotie, en juist aan dat ontbreekt het bij jullie op alle vlakken. Het overdreven commentaar tijdens de race is werkelijk niet om aan te horen en de voor,-en napret zijn totaal verdwenen. Maar ga vooral zo door en trek je niets aan van alle kritiek, de fans weten toch niet waarover zij het hebben. Ik zeg lang leve GP-Radio en kijken doen wij voortaan via andere wegen.
