The dash cam is not working properly

The dash cam is not working properly. The camera freezes all the time, and I can’t even turn it off by pressing the button. I have to disconnect the cable. All the dash cams, cables, fuses, and memory card are from the Viofo brand. Last time I had a minor collision, and the dash cam didn’t record it. I wouldn’t recommend this brand to anyone.

Dashcam VIOFO A229pro

I bought the VIOFO A229 Pro with 3 cameras, the Bluetooth button, a 512GB Viofo SD card, and the parking surveillance kit 5 months ago (which I still haven’t installed, just like the interior camera). I spent quite a bit of time comparing video quality between several brands on YouTube and reading reviews. It’s the only one that offers a 2K rear camera, which is great because in 1080p it’s hard to read license plates.

I recommend buying directly from the VIOFO website rather than from Amazon. In Switzerland, I received my order in about 5 days with free shipping. Their customer service is super responsive; they reply faster than the time it takes me to check my emails. A little anecdote: I had swapped the cables by mistake, and they sent me a replacement very quickly. Embarrassingly, it was my fault, but in the end, I paid for the second one and kept it to give to my father.

In Switzerland, I don’t see many people with dashcams, even though Swiss law allows them. From my experience, VIOFO is a very reliable company that I highly recommend!

Not cheapest but good reputation for cameras

I spent a lot of time researching cameras before settling on an A229 plus. Price was a bit higher than the international site but wanted to buy in UK if possible (was initially confused that viofo.com with UK shipping was different to this direct distributor site). The higher cost of the dual 'plus' camera made it less competitive than most brands on cost but the reviews seemed good, overall I was impressed with quality and even packaging was great. One downside to this and a few other cameras is that some essential extras like filter, SD card and hardwire kit are not included. This made it more expensive again... Better to just include these parts in bundle like some brands. Overall the order process was easy and delivery within a week. Installation was similar to any dash cam, a bit of effort with car interior but everything connected easily. The system seems well designed and app works fine. I definitely prefer the style of camera over another big brand. Despite less competitive pricing the A229 seems to be high quality. Would recommend.

Poor web-site and support.

This is not about the cameras as I've not had them long enough to rate them it's about the web-site and support, I ordered a hardwire kit and mini fuse taps, the fuse taps that came were micro so not any use, so on the web-site I looked under Help, the first option was manage account but I never had an account or could create one, next option was submit a support ticket, so that's what I did but unknown to me you go to viofo.com not uk so I wasted a day waiting for a reply that was of no use, I ordered some more fuse taps from amazon next day delivery as I'd arranged to fit the cameras then.
I hope the cameras turn out better than my experience with the web-site and support.

Easy choice, smooth transaction

Ease of ordering, payment and super quick delivery.
A good choice of features on various models was available, however some only became clear after delivery - such as the separate GPS module, provision of spare brackets for use in more than one vehicle, and the provision of a trim removal tool.

Camera £100 - worked for 1 month

I bought a camera for £100. Used it for 1 month then it stopped working. As it was in the box for 1 year before I got it fitted it had run out of warranty, so couldn't sent it back. My story 1 month, £100.

Well worth the money.

Checked out as much information on Dash Cams before purchasing the A229 plus 3CH. My order was delivered really quickly and I found it relatively straightforward to install with the HK4 Hardwire kit. The whole system is compact and looks great fitted. The supporting VIOFO App works really well and I really like the lifetime technical support and the ongoing firmware upgrades as available. We’ll worth the money to me.

Bad communication and no refund for return

I have returned my item with Royal Mail and it's been delivered since 5 days ago. No one is responding to emails and when they do respond, it's usually days after. I am willing to make this a 5 star review if my refund can be given for the return.
