Cheat of an airline. I paid a lot of money for 25kg check-in allowance for two passengers. Ours bags were just 1 kg overweight and they charged us for it, whereas any other airline in the world would... See more

a disgrace to colombian tourism

tried to charge me for my backpack being 1.5cm out - although completely underweight and this extra one centimeter being the metal frame not even the bulk of the backpack.

Lucky my suitcase was half empty so I’ve put it inside it and even if it was bang on the right weight (19.6kg) with my backpack inside tried to charge me anyway as i didnt come to the counter already with it inside??

first time this happened after 1 month of flying around colombia.

Rude useless aggressive stuff. You think youd be saving money using them - but its a big fat lie!!!

whatever you do - dont fly with this hassling money hungry awful company!!!

I’ve only had bad experiences with this…

I’ve only had bad experiences with this airline. They charge you for whatever they can charge you extra for and the people working there are simply robots. They could not care less about you or how you feel. They forced me into buying tickets out of the countries I was traveling to even though I had a ticket one month later out of South America from another country. They told me that I wouldn’t be let in in the other country if I didn’t have a ticket, which was a complete lie. And they are also ALWAYS delayed.

Worst airline I’ve ever flown with.

Viva Colombia’s business model is to scam their customers. They just charged me $66 to “print” my boarding pass. Oh, and they wouldn’t take any form of card or the local currency, so they let me risk missing my flight while I tracked down an ATM or money exchange and paid THEIR ludicrous fees as well. Staff are rude; some even laughed at our misfortune. Planes also struggle to leave on time; extending their passengers’ misery. If you want to pay a company to treat you like crap, this is the airline for you. If not, book with literally any other low cost carrier in South America; NONE of the rest of them seem to follow VivaColombia’s policy.

Used VC many times, only a few problems

I've used Vivacolombia many times. They're not perfect but honestly I really don't understand some of the negative reviews. Some of the things reviewed, like having to pay them to print a boarding pass is CLEARLY written out by them. If someone doesn't take the time to read it's their fault for losing the money they had to fork out. they are a LOW COST CARRIER and like all low cost carrier you have to pay for everything imaginable. On a few occasions I have had a flight delayed and if the flight is delayed more than two hours you can send a complaint to Vivacolombia through the contact us section of their website, lodge the complaint and they will send you a free ticket to use in the future. I've done it like 3 times. You have to pay the taxes but the fare itself is free. A lot of the problems people complain about could be avoided if they simply took the time to read.

Un FRAUDE

Un FRAUDE, Cuidados, que nadie compre, es un fraude. They are fraud. Before buying the tickets, I spoke to the chat to ask about something. After buying tickets, nothing is allowed even though contract says you can.

Predatory, fraudulent, and coercive.

VivaColombia defrauded, bullied, and coerced me to pay for baggage they had no business doing. On Dec. 11, 2017, I flew from Bogota to Cartagena. The lady said my bag had to fit in the cage. At first, it didn't; so, I removed items and threw them away. Then it fit! Let me repeat: It fit! I even took a picture.

She argued with me. Called the guards. Said I had to pay or I wouldn't be let on. This is fraud. This is coercive. She was a bully. And, I was coerced. Terrible experience! Predatory and should be illegal. Viva should be fined for such behavior.

(Also, the day before, they were late with their flight! How come we don't get a refund for that?)

I asked the CEO for a full refund + my flight. He still hasn't responded. Terrible customer service!

They charged you 30000 COL for the boarding pas.

They mail your boarding pas a few days before the flight and demands that you have a printet version ready when checking in. Not just on the screen of your mobile. Then they “offer” to print it for you. 30000 COL each. Very smart !!! We all know that a screen shots often are better that printed versions. It works every where else.
How many travellers has a copy machine.

Don't use them

Don't use them! . We was going to Medellin FROM Bogotá Thursday evening and back again Sunday. The first one was delayed 3 hours, and the last one was canceled - and we only got 45% refounded

Just don't use them!
