Find another provider

Over the past 2 years I have had 8 unauthorized charges made to my credit card. I've sent 10 complaint emails with no response. No one EVER responds, except for getting an automatic response telling me my ticket number. I tried calling, but their old phone numbers don't work. I have had no problem with the service, just constant billing problems. Find another carrier. VOIPo isn't worth it.

Zero stars not being available...

Zero stars not being available...

I went through this same bogus renewal charge exercise last year and disputed the charges through my CC company. That worked. Last week, Voipo did it again - seven $185 charges in two days. No customer service phone people available, "chat offline." Back to the CC company, seven disputes, plus a block on any further charges from these yoyos while I look for another provider. I don't know what's going on with Voipo, but Highly Not Recommended. The reported widespread nature of this behavior makes it no longer a mistake: it's worse than that.

I cancelled VOIPo in March 2024, but got charged again in March 2025

I cancelled VOIPo in March 2024. I did this within the thirty days to get a full refund. And, in May 2024, they did finally give me three $185 credits, for the three years of service I had prepaid.

But, yesterday, in March 2025 I noticed two charges of $185 on my credit card, from VOIPo. I don't even have an account with VOIPo anymore. So I had to file a dispute through my credit card. And had them block VOIPo from being able to fraudulently charge my credit card again.

Illegally deducted money from my bank.

I cancelled my service in Dec 2024 because tech support could not get the service to work. Yesterday I received a charge of $185.00. I attempted to contact the company using both phone numbers, to get a recording that they were experiencing heavy call volume. The "Live Chat" does not receive any response. Emailing support only gets an automated reply. All I want is my money back that was taken illegally.

Voipo - UnAuthorized CC charges of over $740/- f

Been using Voipo for better part of a decade. Now have 4 - $185 renewal charges which were "accidentally" charged according to themm since mid 2024 for $740/- without authorization. Opened a ticket 6 months back and again 2 more recently and called several times no one pick's up the phone, received an auto-reply advising not to reply or your ticket "will be moved to end of the line". And nothing since. They seem to have removed the credit card number from what the customer can see on their account web page but who knows. I am reading same exeperince by several customers. Voipo is cheating customers in a day light robbery. What are the options here get our $$ back ? . New Customers - DO NOT USE VOIPo unless you want to get ripped off.

I'm trying to get Tim's attention…

I have also been mistakenly charged for the second time. I'm paid up for many years. I want to get the charge reversed but whenever this happens, the support team goes dark. My only course of action is to report it as fraud and get my credit card number changed. Sad!

Run, don't walk from VOIPo

Been a customer since 2014. Last year started getting unauthorized charge to my credit card for 2 years renewal at $185. Voipo claimed it was a computer glitch and reversed the charge. Now it has happened again and I can get no one to respond. This happened even though I removed my credit card from their system. This company is unethical and can't be trusted.

I've been a voipo customer for several years. Last year (2024) they start making unauthorized charges to my credit card. They did no respond to my online trouble tickets and their voice line was always answered with a "we're busy, try again later" type of recorded message. I disputed the charges with my card issuer and they refunded the charges. I told voipo that they were to remove my card information - which obviously they did not. Now (3/4-3/5/2025) they are at it again. 3 unauthorized charges in 24 hours! I've reported fraud to the card issuer, FTC and BBB. Avoid this company. They are no longer reputable.

I am in the same boat as every other person who has been fruadulently billed. VOIPO billed me $1600 over an 8 month period. A refund was supposed to be issued by the end of February but has not happened. I got thru to cust svc today & was told to call back after March 17th to "check the status" of the refund. They wont escalate or allow you to speak to a supervisor or owner. TERRIBLE BUSINESS OWNERS!

Once good now a fraud

Been using Voipo for better part of a decade. Now have 8 $185 renewal charges which were "accidentally" charged since 2024. Opened a ticket 35 days ago, received an auto-reply advising not to reply or your ticket "will be moved to end of the line". And nothing since. They seem to have removed the credit card number from what the customer can see on their account web page but who knows. CC company has blocked it any way. We have two accounts and caught them doing this on the first one last year and thought it was a true error but obviously not.
Update: They're at it again on our other account 3/5/25. Same time as last year. Tim must need to pay his taxes again! American Express was more than happy to block them and issue a new card. Unfortunately the money on the other account will probably never been seen. This place has turned into nothing but a fraud.
Update 2: Was able to port one account's number to a different provider. At least that was easy although they delay the actual port for 2 weeks for no reason. Have cancelled that account and returned the device with tracking number. We'll see how that goes--I don't trust them one bit! Still time left on that line but don't care. Get away from these people asap. The other account... still nothing. That's going be to a $1480 write-off I'm afraid.
5/1/25 I see they have switched to Stripe as their credit card processor. Perhaps the old one gave them the boot from all the complaints. Stripe has a charge lookup form. If they keep getting requests maybe they'll notice. Also curious if anyone can see if their card is "stored" under this new system. Our doesn't look like it but can't really tell. Does not matter as its a cancelled number.

Some on here are looking for their cancellation webpage: It's their website... slash...cancel. At least they're responsive to that. Keep in mind they'll close your vpanel access right away so be sure to download all invoices etc.

BOTTOM LINE: Report these charges as fraud to your credit card company IMMEDIATELY and get a new card number. Open a support ticket for documentation, but do not wait for voipo to reply or refund anything cause it's simply not going to happen.

Billing Fraud

Avoid at all costs. I have been a customer of Voipo's VOIP phone service since 2012, with my service with them automatically renewing every year. I was charged the $185.00 renewal fee early, on 7/8/24. (Instead of 9/29/24) On 10/14/24, I noticed another charge for $185.00 on my credit card and contacted them about a refund. I was told I would be put in the queue. I also discovered I was charged $185.00 on 9/21/24, meaning that I had been charged $555.00 instead of $185.00. I contacted them again on 11/29/24 after not receiving a refund, being told that they had a backlog and that if I responded my refund request would be sent to the bottom of the queue, which is nonsensical. I then contacted them on 12/23/24 after still not receiving a refund, letting them know that I was planning on filing a charge-back with my credit card company and contacting the Better Business Bureau. The BBB contacted them and they did not respond. At this point I looked back at my bank statements and saw that I had been charged $185.00 twice on 9/24/23. So, at this point I was charged $370.00 for a $185.00 service in 2023, and $555.00 for a $185.00 service in 2024. It has been 91 days since I asked for a refund. The company now owes me more than $500. They are stealing from their customers.

Credit card free for all

I like other reviews keep getting charged for years in advance of which I am not approving. The service keeps auto billing and I am paid up through 2036 now and there is no way to cancel the renewals. I contacted support a month ago and was told not to respond because my ticket would move to the bottom of the queue.

Once a good company, now many fraudulent charges

Like many on here and on the Better Business Bureau, Voipo has charged me fraudulently the annual fee of $185 a number of times. Others were DOUBLE billed multiple times. In my case, I have been billed the annual fee seven (7) times since May 2024 without my authorizations for the charges. I was diagnosed with lung cancer with the treatments causing severe exhaustion which lasted many months, so I missed that Voipo was charging me fraudulently for so many months. What a shock to discover the amount of money falsely charged. It was $1,295.00. Then to see all the reviews from people, none of whom say that they ever received a refund.

I had to cancel my credit card to stop future charges. That causes problems with other merchants who routinely charge, so that sets off other chores. My credit card will do an investigation to see if I can get any of the $1,295.00 back. And in any case, they cannot refund the earlier charges.

We had Voipo's great service for many years, but suddenly in 2024, there are many similar complaints. I have no idea why this drastic change with Voipo. Makes one wonder if the owner suddenly has a drug problem. He obviously has no regard for anyone but himself. So STAY AWAY FROM VOIPO or you will regret it!

We reluctantly agreed to let the payment stand and take an added 3 months they offered because of their "mistake".

We intended that service extension to run its course and then not renew. We wanted the service to end and disassociate ourselves from VOIPo.

Then they charged us six times between October 2025 and January 2025. They claimed "...it appears some renewals may have been processed earlier than they should have..."

Fraudulent business practice. Disingenuous to call it a mistake.

Unauthorized charges - where is refund?

Like other reviewers, we have been with Voipo for a number of years with adequate to good service. Beginning in July, though, there have been three unauthorized charges to our account totaling $555 and as of January 3, 2025, we have not received a refund or had our account corrected.

In our support ticket chain after the first two unauthorized charges (Ticket ID #CVU-125-10290), the initial, quick response read: "There were a series of billing issues. Would you like a refund for these charges? For each charge, we can add an additional 6 months bonus for you if you like, if not, we can go ahead and place this ticket in our billing queue for refund processing." (No, we do not want to pay them years in advance!)

So we requested a refund which was sent to billing -- and, yes, we were then charged a third time for another two years!

When we replied to the support ticket chain about this additional charge and didn't receive a reply, I managed to reach customer support, I was told that by replying to the support chain, my ticket had gone back to the bottom of the list. I was advised to "wait a month" for the refund.

Several weeks later a reply stated: "Please do not reply, open additional tickets, or call in about your ticket or it may delay its handling unless it is an emergency." (Not quite the "Amazing Customer Service" described on the website.)

It's now been 3 months since our first support ticket with no refund in sight. (Not quite the "Money-Back Guarantee" and refund within 30 days on the website.)
