Honestly
Honestly, after seeing all the terrible reviews, this company is an absolute joke. I’m so upset at my employer for signing up with these people. I’ve been on the phone for two hours trying to gain access to my account with the pin that they emailed me that does not work they continue to try and try. I need immediate manager assistance so I can access my money keyword my money. I was with Principle for years never ever had to send a bad review. This is crazy. What a terrible company with a set of terrible employees with a set of terrible management with a terrible system. What a way to ruin somebody’s day.
Customer Service is horrible!!
Customer Service is horrible!!! They don't care and give you bs answers to get you off the phone. Take forever for a claim to be reviewed with all documents sent in with claim. Claim reviewers suck as well. I wish my employer had Aflac!!!
Look Elsewhere
Our company uses them as a TPA for FMLA and Short term Disability etc. We have so many employees complain that they are never contacted after leaving multiple messages and I never receive updates when I ask questions as the employer. This company is a clown show. Very Disappointed with them and will never recommend at any other company.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, can't get anything right. Address changes are wrong, account numbers on checks issued are wrong. Avoid like the plague
Voya complaint
Voya is not a very good company at all. I called a week in advance so the contribution for 401k would not come out of my check and still they took the contribution any way.
This company is horrible I have dealt with this for 3 years now. I will deal with a company that has filed bankruptcy several times

Usually pretty reliable but recently they have been garbage
I have been trying for months
I have been trying for months. To transfer my 401b. To either tsp. Or roth. And they won't let me do either. And they won't let me withdraw a dime . what can I do .?
Horrible customer service and rude
Trying to transfer my account so I called and was told they would have to mail me the forms. A week later, another rep told me they could email it. Very nasty attitude from Simone. I’ll be glad if and when I get my money transferred to Schwab who cares about my needs and I actually talk to a genuine nice person.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I was lied to and they make it extremely difficult to rollover/withdraw your account.

The 2nd time they didnt expedite my check and gave me a fake routing number, wasting my time and money. Then they give you the run around with no answers. Very sad from a once great company.
If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. Voya has been an absolute NIGHTMARE to try to work with. The answers you get, or required paperwork varies depending on who it is you speak with. I have submitted the SAME paperwork so many times and there is always something wrong - even when I fill it out over the phone WITH HELP. I have kept records of every fax/email I have sent and some are identical with different things on them that need addressed. It is absolutely a joke. I have been trying to handle my parent's estate for over a year - EVERY phone call, every interaction - there is something else that is required. It seems to me that they are simply trying to get out of paying the benefit. And it's not even a BIG benefit - I'd much rather NOT get it and still have my parents.
High account fees will eat up all gains…
High account fees will eat up all gains in the account. Large fee to close my account, doubleing the published closing fee on their web site! I have my retirement contribution there for two years and I end up with less than I contributed. Still wainting for my account gets closed and funds transfer out. Sad.
I've paid for critical illness coverage…
I've paid for critical illness coverage and was denied because they said we waited more than a year to report it. We've been paying the premiums on time. They don't care. No appeals form. We have to write a letter suggesting an appeal. They won't send your case except through the mail. Everything in place is designed to take as long as humanly possible. Speaking to an actual person takes an hour sometimes. Dishonest to the core.
HORRIFIC
This has been the absolute worst experience in history. I am going through a complete hardship and I am unable to get a withdrawal because of paperwork that obviously states it’s a bill. The customer service has no human skills what so ever . They don’t be empathetic about your situation . Their rules are horrific and gives you major anxiety. I love fidelity with all my heart and hate Voya to my core.
Voya is not competent.
I have been with Voya for more than 15 years and can attest to their utter incompetence. Voya manages a portion of the State of Oregon’s retirement plan as a contractor, so I have no choice about the investment; I have to leave a portion of my deferred compensation with Voya until I retire.
Their latest screw-up was sending me a check labeled “401k plan refund”. I don’t have a 401k with Voya and I have never received a refund check from Voya before. After finally connecting with a supervisor, he admitted that it was an error on their part – but I had to birddog this for two weeks to resolve THEIR error. He said I received someone else’s check!
Mistakes happen, and I get that – but here is the unsettling part: Voya wants to handle everything over the phone – and they can only call you – there is no mechanism for you to call them. I asked to correspond via email for recordkeeping’s sake…but the supervisor stuck with, “calls only; no email”. This is odd to the point of feeling “scammy”; especially for a financial services company.
During my second call back from the supervisor, I insisted that Voya send a written explanation of what transpired for my recordkeeping, and the supervisor reluctantly agreed to it. When I hung up, I knew that I was never going to receive that written explanation.
Voya has made a number of errors with my account over the years. The story above is just the most recent mistake, not the most serious…but let’s just leave it here for now. Plain and simple: Voya is not competent and not a safe place to park any funds, let alone your retirement dollars.
Oregon PERS uses them in their IAP…
Oregon PERS uses them in their IAP program. Their web portal provides very minimal information, statements are not available on line and it is virtually impossible to find any help like customer support number or online chat at their portal. Since they have locked in a government account , they do not see any need to provide any kind of service to their customers.
In this case the Oregon OIC is failing its constituents, When they pick these investment firms , they should set a minimal standard regarding visibility/transperancy and customer support. Just a website thrown without any information is not sufficient.
My other retirement account at Fidelity provides stellar services. Whomever in OIC that chose this service needs to be fired .
Voya promises unfulfilled.
After not finding my account information, I contacted Voya Financial many times to get information on my life insurance account, which is through my ex-wifes former employer. I have been paying on that account for many years through auto pay. They could not provide me with any account information, but constantly said they would get me that information. THEY NEVER DID, but they were sure to take my money every three months. I have taken drastic measures to deny payment to them.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
Experienced resolution agent
Recently had a representative help me settle a difficult and multi generational transaction. Yea these guys know what they are doing. The person I worked with was smart and laid back to work with
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY…
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!! I have been waiting for over two weeks for my hardship check from my 401k. I figured something was up with this company after being told lie after lie and them constantly trying to blame the mail for delays, but after reading some of the other reviews I know for certain this company is holding their customers money and deliberately causing delays. I don’t know how they have not been sued yet. Company full of thrives. I will NEVER EVER deal with this company again.

I have been contacting voya for the last week and between that week.I had to call the company more than six different times regarding different incidents. Therefore, every single time that I call to let them know about my uploaded.Documents or my faxed documents?I get a different representative, of course. And every representative tells me different. The first one tells me that I need to send in the fax information with my application. The second representative told me that I did not need to do that. That I needed to just submit the plain receipt that needed to be accompanied by the application which I already had done online. It's very frustrating when you call the company and every single time they get you a different answer.
