My HRA after retiring from the City of…

My HRA after retiring from the City of San Diego was competently administered by another company (TASC) for a few years before being transferred recently to these folks. VOYA has been a MORASS of bureaucracy, with a truly terrible "system" with attempted technology (app, website) that screams ineptitude. The only reason I'm not giving a 1-star rating is that the several phone support people I've spoken with were friendly.

Called to have update on my account 4/16/24

Called to have update on my account. They claim they did not get the fax on 4-12-24. They now want it refaxed and also a copy mailed to them. I am doing all the work all the follow up and this place is horrible. My company did this to me with Voya. If you work hard for your 401K do no "DO NOT" give your money to these uncaring people who just do not care. Timothy Tattersall

Forced To Resort To Small Claims Court

Attempted to close my account. Voya claims to have mailed a check. Check not received. It is important to note that at time of closing account. Voya did not request SSN number just employee ID number. Now, because the "check" Voyy claims to have sent was not received, Voya is demanding SSN via telephone, insists that SSN can only be inputted by telephone. The game is that Voya's system will NOT recognize SSN input by phone. So - no check. Voya keeps my money. Forced to resort to Small Claims Court. If your company is using Voya, complain to your company, to your fellow employees and post on social media. Voya are sharks - guess who you are to them?

They hold your 401k money hostage and do everything they can to prevent you from moving your funds out into a rollover IRA. Plus, instead of using the banking system to roll over a 401K to an IRA, they send you a physical check in the mail! What year is this? I would never recommend them, nor will I use them in the future. Stay away.

The worst experience

The worst experience. Even with a court ordered judgement they have not allowed me access to my account for over a month. Keep saying they sent the pin but can’t give me tracking numbers. Get your investment out of this place! It’s the worst experience ever. Your money and investments are not safe. Awful

Took forever to receive a bogus check that couldn’t be deposited

We had a small investment left in and tried closing it out first mistake was mine it was January and I put the last year in instead of the new year . Fixed that then two weeks went by no check called again “let me check “ took 15 minutes then found out they had another date not correct !!!! Great fix that ask if that took care of it so no more problems ? Right was assured it was fine!another two weeks goes by still no check call again and go through the verification process then told they couldn’t find any reason why it wasn’t handled. They promised to “expidite” it another two weeks goes by. Call them “oh we just mailed it out finally after 2 months the check shows up I take it to the bank and they won’t take it because there is no routing numbers printed anywhere on the check! What company prints a refund or disbursement with no routing info on it now waiting for them to Expidite it.AGAIN!!!!! It is now April and we have been given two more excuses of why it’s not here and they mailed it again was supposed to be her the end of March still no check as of April 5 th

Every interaction with Voya has been a nightmare.

Almost every interaction with Voya has been fraught with problems, whether via phone or app. I was repeatedly prevented from logging into the app, despite following all directions, to the point where I simply stopped trying.
Phone conversations were even worse. Even though I had my financial advisor on the line, it required no less than four calls to complete a simple fund transfer. Each time we called (because the transfer STILL hadn't happened), we would get a different set of requirements or different reasons the transfer hadn't happened. Filled out MULTIPLE forms, some more than once.
Even after the funds were finally transferred, we received a letter mischaracterizing the nature of the transfer, potentially creating a tax liability. On hold for excessive periods. SO glad we no longer have accounts with this organization.

4/25/24 follow up: Voya acknowledged that they mischaracterized the nature of the transfer, and indicated that they should send a letter documenting that error (in case the IRS gets curious about 'excess contributions'). Today, after repeated calls, we finally got a letter - the letter mentioned NOTHING about the issue. It simply documented a withdrawal, with even LESS information than the original! I would advise avoiding this organization at all costs...if you're already in, I would start TRYING to get out now!

Rollover process is terrible

I just spent 8 minutes on the phone verifying my account to speak to customer service. I have been attempting to rollover a retirement account for over four weeks. Everything is done by US Postal mail. Seems designed to prevent withdrawls.

I have been getting an error since early January when I try to log-in that prevents me from accessing my account using their app on iOS . Says to contact an administrator, and when I called they said there is no fix and there is no timeline to resolve. The app is not usable.

Voya is unethical and impossible.

Voya as an administrator of our HRA is an absolute sham. I have never in my career run into so many employee issues of receiving simple reimbursement of claims or being able to use their FSA cards at doctors offices, pharmacies and then on the chance the payment does go through Voya will do everything in their power to refuse receipts and easily verifiable information and ultimately lock or suspend the employees account. They get to keep the left over balance at the end of the year and it shows in every action. I hope they are sued to all hell. Any employee working for them should feel ashamed of taking part in the companies activities.

Direct deposits are extremely slow

I retired four years ago with a deferred compensation Voya account. I've scheduled monthly withdrawals into my checking account on the 15th of each month, and I'm lucky to see them make it into my account within a week after that. I receive four other direct deposit payments per month from various sources and they're all in my checking account within 24 hours after they've been disbursed. Voya has one of the slowest and most antiquated direct deposit systems I've ever encountered.

AWFUL

AWFUL, VOYA is simply AWFUL!!! They provide two services: 1. Take your money & 2. Place you on hold until you die. The way they operate should be illegal. Don't let the stupid little orange squirrel steal your nuts!!!
We have called at least 8 times in the past month and the result is the same EVERY TIME....an hour or more of waiting to speak to someone.

Specializing in creating obstacles for beneficiaries

For months I have been trying to help my elderly father collect a death benefit on a Voya annuity set up by my late brother. Voya does not acknowledge receipt of any claim forms. Each time we have submitted forms, we have waited weeks and finally called to confirm that the forms were received. Each time we call, we are informed that some additional form is needed -- or that some form previously submitted is not in the file. Each time I have to put my father on the phone to give the Voya representative security information (including the erroneous address to which the claim forms were first mailed nearly a year ago). Most recently, we were told that we would have to provide my brother's divorce decree -- something that had never been mentioned before. As it turned out, my brother's ex-wife had submitted that form long ago and it was in my brother's file at Voya, but now Voya tells us that we must again request a form from my brother's former employer, a form that was requested and submitted two months ago. We have been told that, if all forms haven't been received soon, the benefit will be turned over to the Unclaimed Property Department and then to the state. At this point, if I had been earning minimum wage for the time I spent on the phone with Voya, I suspect that I would have earned more than the small benefit amount my father should have received long ago.

Voya has not done automatic deduction on life insurance. Have been on hold 1 hour each day for a week. Call is disconnected after one hour. Left multiple messages - no call back. How can anyone say this is ethical?

Poor service

Received really poor service from Voya, administrator of our FSA account. I spent two months trying to explain to their team that I do not receive a statement fo service for an online purchase of parts for my medical device. I tried their call in center as well as customer service email. I hope someone in their leadership team sees this review and trains their team to understand their consumer's concern and find solutions instead of following a script. In the end, I simply asked them to deny my claim. Even for that they advised they'd take 7-14 business days. Truly disappointed!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Feel like they are holding our HSA money hostage. They canceled our HSA debit card for no reason and supposedly sent us new ones but we never received them. No other way of paying medical expenses without the debit card. Multiple calls and emails with "customer service" have not yielded any resolutions. Website is awful and not user-friendly with missing links and non-existent forms. Now the website has been down for 3 days and we have no access to our account. Can't express enough frustration with this nonsense.

Terrible customer service

Company sends me a retirement statement for my husband who has been dead for two years. I had notified them of his passing. I receive this statement showing there is money in his account! I call them and am told someone will get back to me concerning this matter. Two months later I contact them and am told it was sent in error and I will not receive anymore statements. No explanation as to why statement was sent out showing there was a sizeable amount in the account. I don't trust Voya , they are terrible to deal with. I dont recommend anyone using there company for there retirement money or investments.
