Varoom is awful!!!

I had the most terrible experience with Varoom. They kept sending me paperwork to fill out and I did so. and sent it back. I would get an email asking for the same information I just submitted, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. After trying to jump through all the hoops, and sending in my deposit, I got a email stating they were going to list the vehicle for sale again. I called and was told you should not have gotten that email. Well I did !!! After close to a month they still could not give me a delivery date. If I could give a rating of minus stars I would.

Think twice about Vroom...

I am writing this for my son-in-law, who is not allowed to post a negative review per Vroom's non-disclosure agreement. Although not my own personal experience, I had a front row seat and feel the need to share what happened. My son-in-law writes: "I had a very bad experience with Vroom. First, the car was delivered about a week early with no notice it was coming, and I had to race home to catch the delivery guy. Then, it turned out the car needed a bunch of mechanical repairs. I got very reasonable estimates from my local mechanic, but Vroom took several weeks to agree to pay for the fixes. Its customer service was poor as I was assigned one customer service rep after another who were very slow to respond (if they responded at all) and they kept asking me to re-submit information over and over. I finally had to get a supervisor involved to get it done. Then, after Vroom finally agrees to pay to fix the broken car it sells you, it makes you sign a confidentiality agreement to get the money, so that people don't go around telling everyone what a bad experience you had."

Registration 2017 challenger scat pack…

I bought a 2017 challenger scat pack from vroom 8 months ago. I was able to drive it 15 days. Now I’ve been in a rental 7 months and they’re threatening to sue me because they can’t get tabs or license plates for my vehicle. I’m paying on a car that sits. Vroom has done nothing. I have called a total of 126 times and been on the phone with Vroom for 112.4 hours total. Nothing has been solved. I’m suing. I make $566/hr now you’ll be paying me my hourly wage plus some, Vroom. DO NOT but from them. I beg you. Buy anywhere else online.

"We believe buying a car should be fun, easy and affordable..."

If you have ever experienced Vroom.com's customer service, and then you see their tagline you will either chuckle, roll on the floor laughing, or you will get very upset at the contrast between the two. My experience with Vroom.com is not different from the hundreds of reviews here, and the hundreds of thousands of people who had attempted to get a car from them. I applied twice for the same car, and after being approved by the bank they canceled the transaction twice! Now, I get a call from this guy who spoke perfect English (now mind you, I am an immigrant myself and English is my second language, but the guys at customer service, geez weez!) and told me "Oh I am sorry I am contacting you to let you know we are unable to continue with our deal" When I asked what was the reason this was his answer, I kid you not: "Oh I have no idea. I really don't know the reason but we can't carry out our deal" So, save your time and stick with Carvana or your local dealers, these guys at Vroom.com don't know their derriere from their elbow.

Buying was way longer than you say…

Buying was way longer than you say customer service is crap all they do is lie to you. Response time is terrible. Sold me a vehicle with no title then asked me to pay a missing title fee. Vehicle came unwashed dirty and needed several thousand dollars in repairs that I’m still fighting the company for. Including brakes, tires, front end suspension is shot and needs an alignment. Over a month went by from the time I placed the down payment to actually receiving the vehicle. I will never buy again and make all friends and family aware of the problems with this company! Buyers beware!!!

Horrible Customer Service

You may find that the vehicle you want is on Vroom. And you can't find the vehicle cheaper anywhere else. If this is you, just remember there is a reason why. DON'T DO IT!

Waited and waited and waited

Waited and waited and waited
Customer service was okay but then some aspects of it were terrible
Paying for things
Money comes out of bank but supposedly doesn’t clear on their end for a week
Then they send us out paper work with my last name completely wrong
While we had them sending us out revised contracts we are receiving emails stating that we have limited time to return items like jag our fault
A whole month goes by and finally they are ready to ship vehicle
Took almost 2 weeks just to get to hub and my wife and I just decided to pick up the vehicle our selfs because we’ve waited so long .
Finally got through that nightmare
And now they are sending more emails saying they need this and that for registration which should have been done a long time ago
Today I had some wheel shake on the highway so I figured hey I’ll look at it before I just wait a month giving it back
Pulled front driver side tire off and sway bar linkage is almost falling out because it’s missing a nut . Are you kidding me
We have son that is about to be born . Reason we bought a 4 door wrangler
If he and my wife were hurt due to y’all’s negligence I promise I would ruin yall
Safety should be a main factor is selling new used vehicles
We’re paying 60k for something falling apart . Shame on you. I owned a 91 Honda prelude that was in better shape Your business will eventually fail and I have no empathy on you .

Vroom had the car I was looking for

Vroom had the car I was looking for, but in hindsight I would've preferred haggling with local dealer. Vroom doesn't negotiate. I put money down when price dropped but the paper work was written up with the higher price. It took multiple calls for them to get it corrected. I asked where the car was physically located but didn't get an honest answer. Thought I could save shipping fee if it was fairly close. They repeatedly threatened to put the car back on the website even though the delay was completely their fault. I asked that the paperwork show what I had already paid but tooks weeks for that to happen and was told many times they don't list the down payment. Most of the people I talked to could barely speak English. I called customer service asking for a supervisor and was told more than once they don't have supervisors. I was told 3 different dates when the car would be delivered and it didn't come on the 3 dates. Instead I received a text it would be at my house in 30 minutes. Luckily I was home. The delivery driver didn't speak English and couldn't understand my questions. It arrived a filthy mess with low tire pressure and appeared like it had been sitting outside for a very long time completely neglected. There was little gas in the tank and more dents/scratches and flaws than listed on the website. Buying and receiving the car was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Note to self-never again and tell others to avoid vroom.

DONT BUY OR SELL FROM/TO VROOM

The selling experience was absolutely hands down the worst. Customer service reps can’t or won’t update you. They say they will talk to their team and get back to you, which they never do. The car was picked up and it took two weeks before getting paid, not 2-3 days as advertised. They even advertised the vehicle for sale on the website way before sending payment and customer service told me they had no record of receiving the car, unorganized. Don’t be like me, Do your home work before doing any transaction with this company. You will find out they have been kicked out of the Better Business Bureau due to so many complaints, which they refuse to address and they have a lawsuit filed by the Texas Attorney General for deceptive business practices, 100% accurate. BUYERS AND SELLERS BEWARE, if you don’t you will be sorry.

I chose not to buy from Vroom for many reasons

I chose not to buy from Vroom for many reasons, but communication was #1.1st and foremost the worst communication I have had from any retailer in the 20+ years of using the internet. I placed a car on hold and paid the 250 dollars. I started the process with Vroom (which was easy) and then added a trade in to the deal. This is where everything went downhill from here. Days passed I did not receive any communication from a single person. So, I called them to get an update. For over 2 hours straight each day for 3 days I tried and tried to get someone on the phone that could help. I would get passed from agent to agent and then disconnected and not on 1 occasion, several. I was told over and over again I needed to get in touch with my Car Specialists to resolve the issue and that they were unable to get in contact with him. I emailed the "Car Specialist" that was assigned to the deal several times a day and called their direct line to never get in touch with them. I did this over and over for 3 days. So, I gave up and moved on. Anyone considering buying from Vroom should believe the majority of the reviews they read. I thought despite all the bad reviews I would give it a chance; glad I did not go through with it. I am sure if this is how the deal started out who knows how it would have ended up.

Terrible, unethical, and sketchy

The only thing that works as expected with Vroom is the “buy now” button. I initiated a vehicle purchase signed documents, both digital and hard copies. Mailed them all back. Then they asked me to sign the same documents again. I had to call and speak to 4 different people to get this error fixed. Everything finally processed and we moved to preparing/delivery portion. I didn’t receive any notifications until the vehicle was shipped then delivered to a 3rd party last leg delivery driver. When the car arrived it was dirty and the battery was dead. Being naive I thought that maybe someone left a light on during the 2 days of transit. Called aaa and had it jumped. Drove around for half an hour to charge the battery. Stopped the vehicle and it wouldn’t start. They delivered a car with a battery that was so dead it couldn’t hold a charge. That doesn’t happen in 2 days of transit. I believe they knew there was something wrong before it was even loaded on the truck. I towed the car to a mechanic to give it a thorough look. In the meantime I have called vroom and they have been exceedingly difficult to work with. I can’t get anyone on who can actually help on the phone and they want pictures of the dirty car. The car not arriving detailed is in no way important compared to them delivering a car that I cannot drive.

My experience with Vroom was seamless

My experience with Vroom was seamless. I ordered my Tesla at the end of July. It was delivered August 6th and got my plates and registration yesterday. My car was delivered with a chip in the window that wasn't disclosed previously. I let Vroom know and they immediately got me scheduled for a replacement. I have no complaints at all with the company. Easiest car purchase I have ever made, truly.

Unbelievable

My wife and I selected a car, made the deposit, signed the paperwork, and were waiting to pay for the car. We called and were told additional paperwork was being sent overnight and needed signatures with a notary present. The papers didn't arrive in two days. Called back and they said the transaction was canceled because we didn't sign the papers. I have screenshots saying otherwise. It's possible they canceled either because we didn't finance with them or purchase any of the extra coverages. Complete waste of time.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. They told me last Friday I was approved and to put a deposit on my chosen vehicle. I wasn't sure which vehicle so I took several days mulling it over. I spoke with them multiple days in a row and on each call they repeated over and over that I was approved and how much I was approved for and repeatedly asked me to put a deposit on a vehicle. After daily conversations for 4 days I see a vehicle that will work and agree to the deposit. Before paying the deposit she again told me I was approved, what my payments would be and the loan amount I was approved for. Literally immediately after she processes my payment for the $249 deposit her very next words are. You are not approved and the down payment is non refundable. Now she tells me I was never approved even though she told me I was approved at least 8 times that I was and she even told me I was approved right before taking the deposit. Apparently I was never approved. They never even submitted me to the lender as they claimed. They just told me I was approved to get the non refundable deposit and then advised me I was declined. This is a scam company. Don't believe anything they say. They will say anything to get your deposit and then end the conversation as soon as you give them money.

TERRIBLE

Every part of this purchase has been AWFUL!
We purchased a vehicle from vroom on July 28th. The financial process was FINALLY completed (after headache after headache) by August 8th and delivery was scheduled. Since then, we have heard no updates about the vehicle other than we should receive it by August 23rd and the transit company will contact us. Well, it's August 22nd and no one has contacted us. I called vroom and they have the name of the third party transit company but no phone number. I looked up the phone number, called them and they have no vehicle in their possession that matches my VIN number. I called Vroom back STILL all they can tell me is that I should expect my car on or before August 23rd. I explained that the third party transit doesn't have a record of my vehicle. They created a "claim ticket" but basically, no one knows where my car is or who has it. And vroom claims that you will know where your vehicle is the entire process and that this is easier than going through a dealership. Both claims are a flat out lie. This has been the biggest headache. Never again, and hopefully this review will save someone else from having the same stress!!!!

Simply incompetent and impersonal

They seem to have the largest fleet of used cars out there but the purchase/acquisition process is miserable.

I found my car, put down the deposit and almost instantly received calls from several "sales associates" who were unaware that I'd already spoken w/ one. I spoke w/ Ryan Cortez who was efficient and polite but realized that I had a frozen credit bureau account so couldn't complete the loan (required in order for them to do registration paperwork, apparently). He gave me his extension but their phone tree never does allow you to actually speak with a particular person. It just disconnects you when you try to go to his extension so the only way (at any point in the deal) to contact them is to get the next random receptionist. For virtually all of the receptionists, English was clearly not their primary language so communication was challenging about 1/2 of the time.

It took them 2 days (and 4 calls from me) to figure out that they had incorrectly listed me as borrowing the entire purchase amount and fixing this to reflect what was agreed upon. They then needed hand-signed notarized material to complete the deal (but no one and none of their many confusing e-mails indicated this). I got the FedEx a few days later (but all along receiving emails that the deal was off if I didn't return them within 24 hrs) and returned them.

It then took them 3 days to figure that they actually had what they needed and could move forward. 2 days later they got my bank transfer and all docu-signed documents and the car was list as "being prepared", presumably for delivery as they gave me a delivery date.

4 days later I get a call from "Andre" who was at the Manheim auto-auction place to pick up my car for delivery but he hadn't received the gate entry info from Vroom. Of course I didn't have it either being on the other side of the country and uninvolved in the process. He apparently tried to call Vroom and got no answer. I called Vroom and they told be that their "logistics team" would be in contact with him to sort this out but they never did so my car was not picked up and delivery will be delayed.

Just a terrible experience. Never again .....

Absolutely Disappointing

My husband and I bought a car from Vroom 5 days ago. We submitted our down payment and the money was taken out of our account before we received the vehicle. We requested the inspection report and still have NOT received it although we requested it over a week ago. Upon inspection by our local mechanic, we found it has a "major oil leak. So bad that we cannot tell where it is coming from." It is an estimated $5,000 repair cost. We are still within the 250 mile warranty that Vroom states you are able to send the car back under, no questions asked. Ha ha. We reached out to them only to hear that we need to prove to them that their vehicle is unsafe for them to take it back and refund us. When we call Customer Service, they are unable to help us and tell us that their managers "are not taking calls". This is the absolute worst experience. Do not buy from Vroom. Find a seller who cares more about a person and their well-being than this company.
