I would not let these people run my dogs retirement program. Tyler Coe obviously can’t read a message from his security department where I was hacked by the Chinese and he decided to extend a 48 hour hold on each transaction to an indefinite transaction. He literally wiped 200 points off of my credit score because he was such a weak need “manager” about taking any risk and apparently he can’t read a paragraph from his own fraud department. Send the police out on a wellness check on me which was nonsense and actually put an end this is no joke and this is not a typo. Put a 67 year fraud lock on my account. the police came out on a wellness check on me!!! which was nonsense and actually put an end to this Is no joke and this is not a typo. Put a 67 year fraud lock on my Equifax account. I’ve had over an 800 score with Equifax, Trans Union and Experian for over a decade + and in a matter of two weeks because he’s such a risk free, i.e. his risk not your risk. cannot read a letter from corporate and you should not go to him if I was trying to house my dog for a weekend. The damage he did to my credit rating is beyond exclamation beyond explanation, and I repeated that intentionally worthless. Avoid at all costs

Their idea of "customer service" is denying you access to any information about your account.
They try to say they are "keeping your account safe" by telling you that all your information is wrong and denying you access.
I have complained to corporate and all they do is defend their horrible agents.
I've begun reporting every incident to the NCUA.
Some of their branch people are so rude I won't go inside anymore.
PLEASE.. do yourself the favor of AVOIDING this NIGHTMARE.

Horrible Mortgage Experience (Home buying)

Recently signed a contract to purchase a home and had a great original lender. Unfortunately, Andy Markley with Vystar came into the picture and offered a lower rate. This would have been wonderful if they hadn't operated in bad faith. During our closing, Vystar demanded that we fix every issue wrong with the home, including a missing mailbox and a door that was slightly crooked... Yes, a slightly crooked door. I'm not making this up. Our personal belief is that they did this because they wanted to push their renovation package, where you only pay interest for a year while you renovate and fix these items. This home was being sold AS IS and they knew that. On top of this, the lack of communication and urgency from the team was abhorrent. Overall, I felt like we were scammed. I'm beyond irritated at the waste of money and time.

Louise Workman and Ryan Bailey on his team were also incredible stand offish and difficult to work with.

Stay away from Vystar.

I called Vystar numerous times to help me with replacement funds until this was sorted out. And the answer was no ..I have very good credit, have a Vy Star credit card have been with this bank for over 15 years. Luckily a friend was able to Zelle me money to cover the fraudulent losses but meanwhile ..Vystar says I may have to wait NINETY thats 90 DAYS for the funds to be replaced. This to me means my money is NOT SAFE , as if I frauded I have no recourse and have to figure out for myself what to do next ..I decided to put my deposit with another bank as this is just to risky for me

VyStar needs a New CEO who knows Banking

My experience with VyStar Credit Union has been consistently frustrating and far below the standard of any competent financial institution. After selling one of my properties, every mortgage document associated with the loan disappeared from the online portal. These records are essential for tax and accounting purposes, yet VyStar removed access without warning and has been unable to provide them despite months of requests.

Since January, I have spent countless hours being transferred between departments, receiving contradictory information, and speaking with representatives who clearly had no idea how to handle a basic request for past statements. I was even given an incorrect phone number. At one point, I was told the documents would be mailed to me — nothing ever arrived. I was later informed that VyStar does not allow customers to speak with a real person about past mortgages and that email is the only option. This level of disorganization is astonishing.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. I once sent an international wire through VyStar. When the recipient didn’t receive the funds after a week, VyStar told me to “wait another week.” After doing my own research, I discovered the wire had actually been rejected within 24 hours because VyStar entered the wrong account number. Despite the fact that no money was ever delivered, VyStar still charged me roughly $100 when the funds were returned. When I asked why I was being charged for their mistake, the response I received was essentially, “We don’t know — Chase Bank charges us.” In the end, I lost three weeks, the wire never went through, and I ended up paying about $140 for absolutely nothing.

Between the missing mortgage documents, the inability to speak with anyone knowledgeable, the incorrect information, and the mishandled international wire, it is clear that VyStar is not equipped to handle basic consumer banking responsibilities. Their internal systems and customer service processes are completely inadequate, and the burden is placed entirely on the customer to fix their mistakes.

I will be moving all of my business elsewhere, and I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting VyStar with their financial needs

Terrible digital infrastructure

I've never had a problem at any of the branches, but their online banking is TERRIBLE. It is frequently undergoing maintenance at the worst possible times. They need to hire better I.T. personal and project managers to make the system better. I never experience these issues with other banking apps including Citi, Capital One, Chase and Regions.

ONLINE BANKING

Once again Vystar online Banking is out for maintenance again. Their poor online banking has been an issue for years. For some reason they keep using the excuse it’s a scheduled maintenance. Why would they do a scheduled maintenance during the early afternoon on a Friday right before the weekend? Crazy!! I like many others I totally rely on checking my accounts very often throughout the day, especially since I’m a disabled veteran on a fixed income and having young teenagers. I think it’s time to make the change. Sorry Vystar!

Use another banking institution

Without any reasonable basis or prior notification, the bank terminated my debit card access. After persistence on my part, they issued a written admission confirming the action was a mistake made by them. Despite this explicit acknowledgment of fault, they have declined to cover even a portion of the concrete financial damage—overdraft charges, returned-payment fees, inability to withdraw needed cash—or to expedite restoration of service in a meaningful way. Customers deserve better. Unless you enjoy fighting unnecessary battles with unresponsive institutions, choose nearly any competing bank or credit union instead. That is the choice I wish I had made earlier.

Horrible wait time for telephone support

I have been a member since the mid-1970s; at one time, they provided excellent customer service. Since their recent CEO decided he wanted to build an empire, he took money from customer service and used the money to build bih beautiful buildings. It took over 30 minutes to talk with a support person. Their message is "Unusually Long Hold Times." This is not unusual; it is typical for him to be attempting to get an IT issue or security issue resolved.

I got a car loan from them a few years back. Car was totaled in an accident and gap insurance paid it off. Skip ahead a couple of years and I keep getting emails saying my statement is ready. I don't know my member number or password anymore since its been maybe 3 years. I called and explained my situation. They said I still have an account, based on my social security number, my phone number, date of birth, and previous address. They have to verify by video and my license. Here's the kicker every time I call I have a 5G 4 bars. Then when they connect for video signal drops to 4G and drops off. They say its something on my end but everything was find until I connect with them. I know its not a million dollars. Their membership fee is $5. They won't even tell much is in the account and said only other option is to show up in person to a local branch. I live in Tampa their branches are in Jacksonville. Im not drive 100's of miles for $5 or whatever amount is there. Worst bank ever. I can even tell them what dealership and car i bought.

VyStar Credit Union is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I paid my payments a year ahead for security reasons In case of losing a job or falling sick, I always pay my payments ahead while still making the monthly payments. VyStar removed all my payments that were ahead and said I was not allowed to have more than three payments ahead. So I was making double payments and It was all for nothing. I would never bank with them. I will never use them ever again. They also have extremely high interest rates.

I have tried to form a relationship

I have tried to form a relationship; I have pleaded for help and for 3 1/2 years, I was told my account was not able to be viewed online, I have wasted hours/days on the phone, to try and correct the problem; Finally after a Better Business Bureau report was filed, it was fixed. However, the system used is somehow flawed, continuing to not record functions such as set up auto payments, causing issues every month and stress for not knowing if my credit would be destroyed. It was and is a full time job. I have many interactions w/ Vystar and not one took accountability. I would not trust this bank with loans at all, they will ruin your credit if you are not on top of your loan. Pretty hard to do when refused access to your own online account. Do better, Vystar, your treatment was sad, and took a toll on my time that I cannot get back.. Stay away from this institution or you too will experience the lack of concern for your money.

Closed Our Accounts

My husband and I have been with VyStar for about 15 years. We've had two auto loans, a line of credit, a HELOC, credit cards, and our last mortgage with them, all paid in full. We've had our business accounts with them in the past and on average we had about 6 different accounts open at one time, including our retirement accounts. We've never had a late payment, and used them for all our banking and loan needs over the years. To say the least we were very loyal members. We used to love VyStar for their outstanding customer service. They made you feel valued as a member. But with the new changes they've made (and the fact they are growing too quickly in my opinion) they have become more like a bank in recent years and we've had nothing but issues. I understand growth and progress is important for a company, but they've gotten away from what matters with their members and care more about making money. One of the biggest issues we've had is with terrible customer service. The credit union stopped doing a lot of transactions in branches so now that you have to call the call center, the wait times had increased significantly. The biggest customer service issues I've had though has been with their loan officers while trying to secure a loan for a new build. These loan officers are "working from home" but never are actually home when you call during normal business hours. We were given incorrect information on multiple occasions, or they were not communicating vital information at all, which affected our loan process in a negative way. They were always forgetting to return emails and phone calls to questions we had and we were having to resend emails and texts with the same information over and over because they would forget or misplace information. There were inconsistencies with information given by different loan officers all together. They were also making us jump through ridiculous hoops with property we own out right, when no other bank or credit union we spoke to required us to do the same. In fact, the property appraiser and land surveyor had never heard of the things VyStar was requesting in their 30 years of business.

We've had them do things like fail to send out expired debit card replacements, and then not allow us to get a replacement printed inside a branch so we had to wait another 10 business days to receive a new card. We've had issues with wire transfers while trying to purchase land (being given confirmation letter that the transfer took place in a branch, but it was never actually initiated). They reported to the credit bureaus that we were a year late paying off our last mortgage when we sold our house. I had to provide documentation that they originally sent me proving we paid our mortgage off as soon as we closed on the sale of our home. We've had ongoing issues with their online banking system after they made changes. The list goes on and on. After much consideration, we were so discouraged by the constant mistakes and lack of customer service, especially trying to to secure a new construction loan with them and reporting errors that affected our credit, my husband and I decided to pull all our accounts and money and go to another credit union. Sadly, VyStar is no longer a member oriented credit union.
