Solar panels (WHLG)
As part of the WHLG I have a energy rating survey and solar panels installed at my property.
The team were very friendly, easy to communicate with and accessible and the works done were to a great standard.
Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the scaffolding took a while to come down (~1 week after completion of works), although this was partially due to bad weather.

1) Water butt leaking within 8 months. Not a good experience
Water butt installed less than a year ago, on 28th November '24. Several problems.
1)The appointment making process had been OK, & we were scheduled an actual time, 12 noon, but I then got a reminder email on the day, at 10 am, saying they'd be arriving anytime between 9 am & 4pm! An hour of that had already passed! Panic mode ensued as we weren't going to be there until the appointment! My brother got there first & in time for the installation, & he had to create a temporary level area for the butt, near the only viable downpipe, or the contractor would have refused to let us have the butt. It would have been nice to have had some tips in advance for ideal placement.
2) The pipe waa connected successfully and the water can drain into the ground via the nearby grate BUT the 2 taps don't operate in the same way, so it's annoying & confusing as to which is open & which is closed, unless there's already enough water to drain. It's possible to leave the wrong one open when you don't want it to be. We've done this a couple of times. The general rule is that if the tap handles follow the pipe it's open but if they're at 90° to the pipe, it's shut. This should be in the manufacturing process.
3) The newer problem is that it's leaking from around the lower tap. We know that's closed, or we'd get a more water out. It's as though the tap hole is too big for the tap, or the correct seal isn't present, or it's rotted already. It started on the summer but now the rain has increased, it's dripping all over our concrete, + the other day in October I noticed it getting worse. We tried to see if we can wiggle the tap into a better position but we can't get at the seal as it must be inside, & the trickle immediately got larger - not a good sign - if a seal isn't fitting properly, you can usually get it to adhere by holding it in, but that's not possible here, so we're wondering if it's come off or is rotten already.
If something doesn't even last a year why should we bother again? I suspect poor quality manufacturing. Probably a job lot bought in at low cost & quality was sacrificed. We could buy our own replacement but this was supposed to have been a grant to help the environment.
We now have to wait until the rain ceases a bit so we can manoeuvre it upside to empty it & investigate. It's huge so it's going to be a tricky task.
Wish we'd never bothered, frankly.

Under the WHLG scheme
Under the WHLG scheme, we had roof insultation and PV works completed.
We received fantastic service and communication From Retrofit Resident Services, Waltham Forest Council.
The works had scheduled in lightening speed and assigned a workforce team who were very efficient and professional throughout.
We are so grateful to AS at LBWF Resident Services and MA at REFYT who managed the entire process from survey to finish.

The booking service was good, I was contacted promptly to arrange a visit to assess quickly and the actual visit took place at appointed time. The work was done well and the staff who arrived to do it were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My only comment is that there is no detail or breakdown given of the cost to know exactly how costs calculated or work to be done.

I'm a trained gardener, and I can say that the standard there is unacceptable, both in terms of the method and evaluation of the job, and the use of equipment.
I would like to know if anyone in that company has the skills, certifications of study regarding gardening.
I gave two stars instead of one because they also take care of emptying apartments in a state of disgrace and it doesn't take any skills to do that.
