AVOID - WATA GRADING

WATA completely failed to live up to their reputation. As a new collector, I trusted them to grade my games accurately. What I got back were labels riddled with basic errors — incorrect regional codes, missing variant details, and false claims about mismatched components.
These aren’t small oversights — they’re fundamental grading failures that directly impact authenticity and value. Despite this, WATA took no real responsibility. They blamed the submission partner instead of owning their mistakes, and their “solution” was a weak offer of a free label correction.

Even worse, after acknowledging the issue, they stopped responding to my emails entirely. No follow-up, no fix, and no concern for how damaging their errors are to collectors.

For a company that markets itself as the top authority in video game grading, this has been nothing short of a disgrace. Their quality control is poor, their customer service is dismissive, and their willingness to stand behind their own work is nonexistent.

Avoid WATA. They are not what they claim to be — and I deeply regret trusting them with my games.

Wata is terrible

Wata is terrible - stay away! I sent in an autographed NES cart with the certificate of authenticity for grading. They did not send back the COA. First, they claimed that the COA was sent back to me. After 2 months of dragging their feet and no real responses, they finally claimed that there was no proof that i even sent in the COA even though there is a note with my order on their own website that says i included the COA. Now i have an autographed item w/o the matching COA. So, thanks to Wata, my item is worth less than when i sent it in. Wata will not do anything to correct their mistake. These guys are not professionals.

Do not purchase any services from these corrupt people

Do not purchase any kind of service from this company. I had reached out to them in for clarification about upcoming discounts. They informed me that no discounts would be occurring, so I placed my order ($250 CAD for one game).

Four days go by, and I receive an advertisement email from WATA games offering discounts on various services. This made me extremely annoyed as the representative told me that there were no discounts being offered any time soon.

I reached out to them in hopes of getting the promotional price that was now taking place. They informed me that WATA games do not provide refunds or retroactively correct prices.

So basically, after I spent $250 CAD and paid $30 CAD to ship the game to WATA, they still refuse to give me a $40 USD refund after making me overpay.

Avoid this company at all costs and never give them any of your money. I'm going to be discussing a partial chargeback with my bank on the amount they overcharged me and refuse to refund.
