Absolute scam

Absolute scam. The “Mystery watch competition” is a sham. Once he has collated all the funds, they purchase the cheapest watches available on eBay, hence the shipping “delay”. I have photo’s showing that the watch I won was purchased on eBay Aug 10th, yet I entered the “pre boxed competition” on Aug 1st. Please do not enter this competition! If this has happened to anyone else, please feel free to contact me!

Hi there,

We’re really sorry to read your review and to hear how disappointed you’ve been with your experience. That’s not what we ever wanted customers to feel when taking part in our mystery watch drops.

We want to be clear that we’ve issued you a full refund, so you won’t be left out of pocket. We completely understand your frustration around the timelines and the watch you received — and we’re taking feedback like yours seriously as we look at how we run these drops going forward.

Our aim is for this to be an exciting and enjoyable concept, not something that leaves anyone feeling misled or let down. We’re truly sorry that wasn’t the case for you and thank you for sharing your honest feedback so we can continue to make improvements.

Best regards,

Would put zero but you can’t

Would put zero but you can’t, really wanted this to be a good thing but once the watch turned up late and in a very unappealing packaging I was still hopeful then the watch it’s a very cheap quartz wouldn’t have paid more than £10 for. Very disappointing I would love to hear and see who if any got the premium watches. Looking at the review coming in I will not be returning to you Watch Harbour real shame.

Is it all a scam?

For more info on this and for me to have a look into the watch you received please follow my instagram @watchthetimeplease

My story.....please read.

So I entered TheWatchHarbor mystery watch drop on the 1st of August, £59 per entry.

As taken from the watch harbor website-

"All Mystery Watches are carefully packaged up a week before the drop. During this time, the website becomes password protected, and no one, not even us, knows which watch is in which parcel. Each watch is boxed, labeled with a number, and sealed, ready for dispatch.

On drop day, when your order comes through, it's randomly assigned to one of the pre-packed parcels. This ensures complete fairness and adds to the excitement, your watch is truly a mystery until it arrives"

So I received my mystery watch today 16/08/2025 after the watch drop from the 01/08/2025, I believe all 200 watches were sold out within 2 hours.

I received a gold toned Rotary watch, obviously one of the lower tiered watches but I wasn't to fussed.

I knew nothing about the watch so I decided to Google image search the watch, to my surprise the watch that I had in my hand came up as been sold on Ebay, no biggie, it was obviously purchased there by TheWatchHarbor for their watch drop, so I click on the link only to find the watch was purchased on the 11/08/2025, 10 days after the watch drop took place and apparently a week prior to the drop this watch was already pre packaged up and ready to be sent out.

So it now literally looks like to me that TheWatchHarbor took my money on the 01/08/2025, then ended up jumping on Ebay to buy me any old cheap watch to make an easy profit, the watch was not a mystery at all to them as they've gone onto Ebay to buy me it even though the watch was apparently packaged up around 17 days prior to this date.

I'd like to know, is this done with everyone? Or was I a one off? It also now makes me question are there actually any watches in the drop that are higher tiered? Did the jackpot watch, the Rolex Datejust ever exist? I apologise if any of this is untrue but it made me think deeper into all of this.

Now for those who may think it may not even be the same watch......trust me, it is, exact same marks on the crystal, same marks on the case, case back, same aftermarket leather strap, and even has the exact same green metal reaction on the spring bars.

Also a slight follow on from this, I contacted a Jack Scott on Instagram after I saw he left a poor review for TheWatchHarbor on trustpilot. Jack kindly sent me a photo over of his Sekonda that he got from the watch drop......10 minutes later I find it on Ebay, purchased on the 09/08/2025. 8 days after the drop took place, also again proving my theory of them taking the £59 and then just jumping on Ebay and purchasing any old rubbish for a quick profit.

Jack has also confirmed it is 100% the watch he has, all the scratches and marks are identical.

Also see the review added up by Gareth on TrustPilot who bought 4 watches and received them all in 1 jiffy bag......pre packaged are they?

TheWatchHarbor people deserve answers..........

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience so openly. First off, we’re really sorry you’ve ended up feeling let down by the drop, that’s never what we wanted anyone to feel.

We honestly had a nightmare with our shipping this time. The service we set up through Shopify rejected all of our original parcels because of the size and weight. That forced us to go back, reopen everything, and repackage it into smaller bags just so they could be sent out. It completely ruined the smooth “all pre-packed and sealed a week before” system we’d promised, and we get why that doesn’t sit right.

There were 25 luxury watches in this drop, and not everyone has received theirs yet because of the delays. Around 10 people have already reached out or posted on Instagram showing their higher-tier watches, but we know it’s always going to be tough to get everyone who lands a big win to post about it. We’re already thinking about offering little incentives for people to share what they got, just to bring more transparency and excitement to the community.

We’ll take this as constructive criticism and make sure the next drop is run a lot better, with clearer communication, smoother shipping, and a process that feels fair and exciting again.

Disappointing

Purchased a men's mystery watch drop as a surprise gift for my husband. The mystery watches were advertised as a premium product provided with information about the vintage piece, but upon delivery, the product was provided in a scrunched up piece of bubble wrap with no information about the watch and it is not in a wearable state (the strap clasp was snapped off).

While I understand that not every piece in the mystery watch collection can be a premium product, it feels as if this piece in particular (a sekonda quartz) could have been purchased from a charity shop for much less than £59.00.

I have contacted Watch Harbour for a full refund but I am yet to receive a response. Disappointed.

Hi David,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience, receiving a watch in that condition is absolutely not the standard we aim for, and we can completely understand your disappointment.

The mystery drop is meant to be a fun and exciting experience, with every piece arriving ready to wear and presented properly. Clearly, we fell short here and we’ll be taking this feedback on board to improve both the quality control of the watches and the packaging going forward.

We’ve checked and can confirm your refund request is being processed, you should see it reflected back to your original payment method very shortly. If you don’t, please reach back out to us directly and we’ll make sure it’s resolved straight away.

Thank you again for sharing your honest feedback, we’re taking it seriously and will do better next time.

Scam

So, I can see a theme from the reviews here…

Great idea, shocking execution boarding on scam.

First off it took 2.5 weeks from purchase to actually receive my item, the website specifically states all watches are boxed with lots of social media content on what the boxes look like etc.. only to receive a small black Jiffy bag with a scrap of bubble wrap inside it…

And now the watch, a sekonda quartz on the cheapest bin bag like strap you’ve ever seen… sekonda is not mentioned anywhere on the list of possible companies for watches on the site.

At £59 cost and a value of £4.36 (the price of a similar watch on a nicer strap sold on eBay this evening) I will be looking into a dispute through my bank, given nothing about what I received, was as stated it would be.

Hi Josh,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand your frustration. The delivery time and condition of your watch clearly fell far short of what we intended to offer.

Regarding the packaging, our original parcels were rejected by the shipping service we booked through Shopify due to the size and weight. This forced us to reopen and repackage everything into smaller bags so they could be shipped, which unfortunately meant the unboxing experience you were expecting didn’t happen.

The mystery drop is designed as a mix – some watches are higher-tier, and others are everyday brands. We never intended for anyone to feel misled, and we understand how receiving a Sekonda in that condition could feel very disappointing.

We want to resolve this for you. If you’d like to return the watch, we’ll arrange a full refund and cover the return process. Please get in touch with us at watchharbor@outlook.com , and we’ll make sure it’s sorted promptly.

We appreciate your honest feedback, and we’ll use it to improve how we handle future drops so that everyone gets the experience they were promised.

Oversold and underdelivered

I, like most others, thought this was a great idea, but unfortunately it’s been very poorly executed.

I can see with other reviews that people complained about the packaging being just some torn up bubble wrap and the company replying saying they were going to fix it for the August drop and to have proper packaging and boxes… they didn’t. Mine finally arrived after being severely delayed and it was a tiny jiffy bag with the watch just wrapped in some torn bubble wrap.

Now I understand that some watches will be more affordable pieces and that’s fine, but I received a quartz sekonda which in good condition would resell at around £15, but this is in poor condition and you would be lucky to get £5 for it, not ideal for something worth £59. I appreciate that’s the risk I took when ordering but I was hoping for at least a watch in good condition. Although it is fully functioning, it’s very scratched and even rusting.

The 2 stars are for the redeeming customer service. I’ve chatted with them through social media when trying to find out why my order was delayed and they seemed very reasonable and nice to deal with. I still think it’s a great idea, but could really do with some work on the execution. I would like to buy from here again in the future but only providing they sort out their logistics and packaging issues and potentially are a little more picky on the pieces they deem sufficient to send out.

Hi Jack

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we really appreciate your balanced feedback. We’re glad to hear that our team was helpful when you reached out, but we’re truly sorry that the delivery and condition of your watch fell far short of what we intended to provide.

We also take your point about the watch condition seriously. While the mystery drop is always meant to be a mix of higher-tier and everyday pieces, it’s clear that some watches shouldn’t have been sent in the condition they arrived. We’re reviewing quality control carefully to make sure future drops are a fairer and more polished experience.

We genuinely appreciate your willingness to give us another chance in the future, and your feedback will play a big role in helping us improve. If you’d like, we can also arrange a return and full refund for the watch you received, just let us know, and we’ll make it easy.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and helping us make the next drop better.

My first luxury watch!

I was very skeptic about the mystery watches, fully aware I could receive an affordable piece as the description states.

But I was lucky enough to get a Longines Presence from my order, my first ever luxury watch for just £59!

Can't thank the team enough for their amazing service and great opportunity and concept they have created

Means a lot that you took the time to message, and I’m genuinely grateful you gave it a shot. Hope it’s the first of many great watches in your collection.

Disappointed and over sold

Much the same as Liam, sounds like exactly the same watch in a torn piece of bubble wrap with no information. Honestly it only takes a small effort to make the packaging look at least a little presentable. Has taken weeks to arrive and no communication.

Ladies accurist watch that’s too small to wear, scratched glass and not in a very good condition.

I loved the idea of this but the watch looks like something you’d pick up in a charity shop. I’ve had much much better quality and experience from TEMU for much cheaper but better watches.

Overall - disappointed.

Hey Scott, really sorry to hear this! Completely get where you're coming from.

That definitely isn’t the kind of experience I want anyone to have with these drops. The whole idea was to create something exciting and different, a chance to land a genuine vintage piece, with the odd big win in there too, not to leave people feeling let down.

These are all real vintage watches, and yeah, some are more affordable to help make the whole thing work. But regardless of value, the condition and presentation should still feel solid, and it sounds like what you got fell short on both fronts. That’s on me.

We’ve just made some big changes this month, including proper branded boxes and much better packaging, so it actually feels like something worth unboxing. I should’ve done that sooner, honestly. You can see some of the upgrades over on Instagram if you're curious.

I'm more than happy to get a full refund sorted for you, and I’d like to send out a replacement too, just to try and make things right. No worries if you'd rather just leave it, but the offer's there.

Thanks for giving it a go anyway, and again, really sorry it missed the mark this time.

Cheers,

Mystery watches

So what do you get for £59? Well I got a ladies quartz accurist - A £20 at best watch.

A fake gold chipped glass ladies accurist with a pulsar model stretch band and a massively scratched back cover. Clearly where they've struggled to pop the back off to "service" it with a new battery.

Watch is covered in grime in all the edges (so much for the cleaning service too) and underneath and the pulsar band is 4 mm too thin for the original spec.

Packaging: wrapped in some hand torn bubble wrap and stuck in a small padded envelope.

Obviously as soon as I saw that I knew I wasn't getting my money's worth.

Shame, was a fun concept to buy a vintage watch but the presentation and quality tells me it's an excellent way to ship out rubbish stock and pocket some profit.

Shipped from a personal address, not business so not sure who I actually bought from in the end.

Hey, really sorry to hear this, I totally get your frustration, and this definitely isn’t the experience I wanted you to have.

We have actually made a loss on each mystery drop so far. The aim here really isn't to make a quick profit, we want to create a great experience where someone can win a luxury watch for just £59.

These are genuine vintage watches, and we do mention in the description that some people will get more affordable pieces, which helps us make the whole concept work, giving people a shot at vintage luxury for £59. That said, the condition and presentation of what you received isn’t good enough, and I can see why you’re disappointed.

I'm more than happy to send you a full refund, and I’d also love to send out a replacement watch as a bit of compensation. Just drop me a message and I’ll get it sorted right away.

The packaging especially has been a challenge, and I hold my hands up on that, but we’ve literally just upgraded everything this month to proper presentation boxes and much better protection (you can see it over on the Instagram). First impressions count, and we’ve now taken the steps to fix that.

We’re also going to be way more transparent going forward, aiming to show all 200 watches available in each drop so people know exactly what they might receive.

Really appreciate you giving it a go, sorry again that it didn’t hit the mark this time, but I’d love the chance to make it right.

Cheers,
Cameron
