I purchased a months worth of service for 35.00 to do ancestry work. It was not disclosed that this site does not cover entire regions (perhaps in fire print but it’s not evident if this is present). I got on and there was no data for Louth. I emailed the company and was told “we don’t cover some parts of Ireland.” I looked in the area of Cork and found out this area was sketchy too. What kind of ancestry site for Ireland charges people money to look in only specific locations within Ireland - without disclosing that first? They refused to refund my money and were not at all friendly. I was raised to treat others as you would want to be treated. It seems these folks were raised to be deceptive and greedy. It’s sad to see integrity is so low when it comes to doing business with an Irish based site and while 35.00 lost isn’t a big deal it’s the principle of it. There is a free site that will give you everything you need. Roots Ireland is a scam and a bait and switch operation and no one in that Country cares.

Not a very positive experience. Sometimes nothing showing on known accurate information which is available elsewhere

Extremely expensive for what you get. Especially when the exchange rate is poor for some countries.
Challenging getting documents.
It did help with some of my family tree, although the limited amount of records you can save and the fact they all disappear if you're over an hour of renewing makes this organisation a bit of a rip off.

I have been doing family history for 15 years, so know what I'm doing. I find roots ireland to be expensive, It's limiting as you can only do a number of searches per subscription, seems like a huge money making scheme and is not of help to us genealogists as you waste time clicking on matches only to find they are not the ones related to you, but those incorrect matches come off your allowance. Stick to Ancestry at least you can view what ever you want in the period you sign up. Also Ancestry let's you view some things for free and you can still view your tree when you stop subscription. Irishgenealogy.ie is also a fantastic site which has free BDM certificates. Half my relatives didn't even show up on roots ireland last time I looked. I'd say don't waste your money.

Much better information on Irish Genealogy civil registrations and, with a lot of patience and good knowledge of your parish, the NLI church records for pre 1864.(Lots of gaps) Luckily I only joined for 24 hrs and found nothing new. Also found it strange when I was asked if I knew where to apply for an Irish Passport on the Roots website. Surely the passport office is busy enough without advertising it's services.

Terrible. I could not even find records I could find free elsewhere. Records I know exist wouldn't come up in the search. I paid for a day and had searched everything available within 10 minutes. Total waste of money.

Had high hopes to remedy a dead end in my search for my Irish ancestors. This site was an absolute BUST. I have been doing this for 15+ years an this site is disgraceful. No part of this site is worth the effort. I got more information from Ancestry. This site couldn't even confirm information i already had. No original documents to examine and a search process that is basically useless. One star because a -5 star rating isn't listed as a choice.

Paid £26 for month got a refund ,because there are no records worth looking at ,always comes up with blank ,DONT PAY THE MONEY IT IS NOT GOOD

It is a complete waste of money. I got accurate information on irish census 1901 and 1911, church and civil records. The name i am searching is quite rare so further name searches on Roots ie showed there were additional records but to get the information, i needed to sign up. It was totally irrelevant and variations on the spelling. I could not even find the same info i had got for free on the census. Top tip: Save your money don't sign up!

Waste of money. Paid for a one off subscription and I only got the info that's available on the free census websites. Don't pay for it, use the free sites!

Shockingly bad website. Irishgenealogy.ie is far far superior. Hardly any records on this website, even people i know exist cannot be found on this website. Really dont waste your money. All style and absolutely no substance.

I have them exact information on the address towns land of the father and mothers of the 1911 Census with the name of the person
After paying for the information They suggested that I had giving them incorrect spelling of the towns land
It felt like I had being defrauded
