I originally posted a review in July 2023 when I fell victim to a bogus day trading investment scam. At the time Wealth Recovery Solicitors were able to successfully secure a partial refund from the banks. Even though this was a step in the right direction the partial refund was a small fraction of the total monies lost to the scam.

However Josh Chinn and his brilliant team were not done there. They stuck by me and were confident they could recover significantly more of my losses. They believed that the banks had a duty of care to protect vulnerable customers. They’re also better positioned to recognise potential scams, and therefore in this instance they should have done more to prevent such a sizeable loss.

The next step was to escalate my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Josh Chinn and Hannah Daw were clear with what the journey would look like and they kept me in the loop every step of the way. They made me well aware that this would be a lengthy process. After 14 months I received the incredible news from Josh that they have managed to recover 70% of my losses!

Josh and his team were relentless and fought tirelessly on my behalf. My mental and physical health has suffered immeasurably due to this ordeal. My wife has shared the same anxious discomfort for so long. As the loss to the scam was in excess of £100,000 the financial implications has been extremely damaging.

I initially reported the scam to the Action Fraud and the banks and I was shocked to discover how useless and unsupportive they were. Wealth Recovery was my last roll of the dice and at this point I was reduced to no hope and barely had any fight left in me. However after speaking with WRS, they were the first and only people I felt were on my side. Being scammed is such a lonely place to be due to the feeling of shame and unbearable anxiety. WRS cared and played a vital role in me and my family getting our lives back.

A big thanks to the team at WRS, in a matter of weeks they have successfully recovered the money I lost, after I was scammed online by a crypto mining "business". I was scammed by two companies based in Hong Kong. I initially tried to achieve justice by reporting them to the financial authorities in HK. Their idea of justice was to advise me to report the matter to the HK Police. I followed that advice with a number of emails but they were repeatedly ignored. I'd all but given up when I saw a WRS advertisement on the internet. They offer a no win, no fee service so I gave them a try. I've found them to be most helpful and efficient. This company doesn’t care about scammed victims but only cares for the money they will get from the victims, why did I say that, I ask them for my case and without submitting anything yet about my case they replied that they have minimum of 10,000£ in order to take the case. Another thing, with a smiley emoji they sent me this message: “We know how to win cases and know which ones don’t is what determines if we take a case on or not :)”. This is not even respecting my emotional status caused by this terrible incident in my life. She could be more emphatic rather
than boasting that they know which one to take to win the case. Why? Because mine does not reach their minimum amount? They are proud that they help a lot but to who? Only to those they can get more money from not because their hearts goes to the poor victim :( So sad. This company doesn’t deserve any award.
