Got an offer online for $6,300 for my 2016 Chevrolet Cargo Van that is in very good condition. Once the Con Man got to my home and completed his inspection, he stated that they would buy my van for $100! Yes, you heard correctly. $100! I told him to "get lost". After leaving my home, the Con Man called and stated that now they will buy my van for $2,500! SCAMMERS!!
Just wanted to add that CarMax picked up this same vehicle 4 days later for $5,600!! Once again, stay away from these SCAMMERS!!

Our website provides a valuation estimate, not an offer. It is generated entirely from the information provided by the customer, and it reflects neither a vehicle's recorded history nor its verified condition. In your case, no condition issues were disclosed during the online valuation, and our valuation estimate was therefore generated for a van in good condition, as represented by the customer. Our offer is always based on the market value of a vehicle after completing a professional appraisal which forms the basis of our offer. That appraisal surfaced significant undisclosed issues with the van.
Your vehicle's Experian AutoCheck history discloses:
- A stolen-and-recovered event
- Three documented accident reports
Our buyer's professional, in-person appraisal documented eighteen specific condition issues, including:
- An illuminated airbag warning light
- Structural damage which must be disclosed to any prospective buyer
- An inoperative passenger door
- A ripped headliner
- A damaged driver's seat
- A damaged driver's seat belt
- Four tires below tread depth
- Damaged side mirrors (both housing and glass)
- A damaged rear-view mirror
- Missing power locks
- Damaged vents
- Dents on three separate body panels
None of these were reflected in the online estimate because none of them were disclosed.
