Had this done to me

Had this done to me, car collected on 2nd December 2025, £800 was agreed, it was to be scrapped, needed a new engine, Lee called me on the 9th december to say gearbox was faulty but I know it wasn't, said he would have to return the car, I could go on but I since found out it was given an MOT and taxed on 6th December, must be dodgy MOT, log book already updated, so why offer to return the car, contacted dvla, not much use, contacted West Midlands police and made them aware that the MOT may not be legitimate and reported to 101 only to be told it
is a civil matter, does not make sense as he is clearly a fraudster, (if I walked out of a shop without paying for a loaf of bread I would be arrested!!! )also contacted watchdog and rip off britain, likewise I would give below 0 if it was possible

Do not use!!!!!!!! AVOID

We had the same issues as everyone else here. We have contacts within the police. Action fraud will not get involved but due to his 'Giuseppe Randino or Lee' previous conviction the police (west midlands force) are treating this as a criminal offence. We have an open case with them so feel free to call west mids police and create a joint effort. If we all call together they will act quicker. We also have the name and address of his driver so are sending the police around to him as he knows where the car was taken! Also ensure you place a stolen marker on your cars!

Please don't use this company!

Got a quote online at webuyanymotor.com, and was phoned back quickly with a good price offered. 'Lee' was keen for his driver to collect the car very quickly, which unfortunately I agreed to, without having checked reviews etc.

The car was collected with a full sale contract given to me, and 3-5payment terms agreed. 4 weeks later, after chasing this most days I have not received payment, I have tried to get the car back but no luck there either.

I do manage to get in touch with 'Lee' if I phone enough times, but everyone is the same story 'i guarantee I'll get it sorted tomorrow ', it never gets sorted.

I have now reported the company to the police fraud department and begun a small claims court claim to get the car or money back. But I'm holding out much hope.

My advice is to avoid this company, stick to someone more reputable, learn from my mistakes!

UPDATE.... Despite continued promises to pay or return the car, I have now found the car had been sold on, despite still being registered to me (ownership not transferred due to lack of payment). Thus i reported the car as stolen, the police have recovered the car.

Once again, I strongly advice you to avoid this company.

Car collected, no payment, DVLA ownership transferred without consent

⭐ 1 star given only because zero is not an option

My vehicle was collected by We Buy Any Motor Car Limited (Coventry) on 15 October 2025 after they contacted me. A price of £750 was agreed, with clear verbal and written assurances that payment would be made within 3–5 working days.

No payment has ever been received.

I spoke directly with Lee, who initially offered £1,000 and then lowered the offer to £500; I eventually agreed on £750. Stephen Mark Jackson, who collected the vehicle, handed me the phone to speak with Lee and later returned the yellow slip from the logbook, insisting several times that the transfer could be completed online via DVLA. I would have sent this by post rather than online.

I repeatedly chased the company over several weeks and received multiple messages saying payment was “being processed” or would be “in this week”. These assurances were never honoured.

Despite my explicit instructions that I would only authorise transfer once payment had been received, the company transferred the vehicle into their own name with the DVLA without my knowledge or consent. I did not complete, sign, or authorise any online transfer. I only became aware of this when I received a DVLA letter and vehicle tax refund.

The matter has been formally reported to:
• The Police (crime reference issued)
• The DVLA as a fraudulent transfer
• Citizens Advice / Trading Standards
• Action Fraud

I later discovered that this company had already been featured on a BBC Watchdog programme for similar behaviour, which I unfortunately saw after my vehicle had already been taken.

As of today, I remain unpaid.
This company is not connected to the national company We Buy Any Car Ltd, despite the similarity in name.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others not to use this company.

Has no intention of making payment. Ignore any reviews from a woman called Deirdre she is a made up person to make the reviews look better. This company is trading on the good name of “ We Buy any car” they confuse people by adding in extra works such as “we WILL buy any car” or we buy any MOTOR car.
Do not deal with them.

DO NOT USE!

DO NOT USE!
‘Lee’ will promise you your money in 48 hours but this turned into 2.5 weeks of chasing and being told the same old rubbish- you will be paid today or tomorrow and it never happening. He has cash flow issues! I only got paid after going to the garage directly that my car was being sold. Please check auto trader if you are waiting to be paid to see who has your car. The garage paid me, not ‘Lee’. The contact number on your ‘contract’ doesn’t work. The contract is worthless! Please do not make the same mistake I did. It is not worth the stress for a little bit more money than others will offer. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is.

Terrible Company

Terrible Company - took my Dads car and no payment! (12000 pounds) usually the cars seem to end up at Atherstone Garage who did refund my dad. Lee Randino was featured on watchdog within the one show last week! Do not deal with this company and very surprised Atherstone Garage still deal with him knowing how he scams vulnerable people!

Bunch of crooks

Like all the other reviews. We sold a car to them, payment in 5 days but they said it will be more like 3 days. Lee (real name Giuseppe Randino previously convicted for fraud for not paying people - google him) then goes through his usual routine:
1. Phones back saying they need to return the car but backs down quickly when you remind him of his contract.
2. Phones back asking if you will you accept less money
3. Not pay at all
4. Customer chases him, he gets rude, angry and threatening.
5. Pretends to pay with a screenshot of a fake BACS transfer
6. Only pays up if you report the car stolen to the police as we did
7. Pays up 11 days late then calls you to say he is a honest man and doesn't like being called a crook which he is.

A total crook that relies on most people giving up chasing him and he gets a free car. To avoid jail he only pays the people that have reported their car stolen.

BBC Watchdog (on the BBC1 The One Show) had a piece about him on the 24th Sep 2025 with his fake BACS payment shown.

Avoid WeBuyAnyMotor at all costs!

I sold my car to this company after they promised quick payment. They collected the vehicle but never transferred the money. At first, they kept delaying with excuses, and now they’ve stopped answering calls and messages altogether. I’ve been left without my car and without the payment.

This feels like a scam — unprofessional, dishonest, and potentially fraudulent. I strongly advise anyone thinking of using this site to stay away. I’m now seeking further action to recover my money.

Stressful experience

On the 20th August we put our Range Rover evoque up on a site advising that it had an electrical issue ( all the electrics trip on the vehicle upon starting) we were looking for quotes.

Straight away we had a phone call asking about the car, asking how much we were looking for we said a price and they advise they could do that. They asked for our postcode and advised they would collect the following day 21st August. Driver called me when he was 1 hour away then he arrived. The driver was friendly and advised electrical issues are tricky because it’s endless pit of money- we agreed. He rang the boss and they knocked the price down- we agreed, handed over the keys and V5 document.

We were advised 3-5 working days for payment to go through, it was the Thursday before bank holiday when they knocked the vehicle up. I rang on the 27th and was advised because of the bank holiday there is a delay, wait til Friday and it should be in.

We then got a phone call on the 28th, car has been in the garage not just an electrical fault it’s and ECU issue- they advised a new price they would be able to give or they can return the vehicle to us. At first we agreed to have the car returned however after putting the vehicle on another site and being quoted a price I called them back and asked if they could match it save the hassle of returning the vehicle. They double checked and said yes they could do that.

We then left it a few days, no payment received - spoke to a man on the phone he asked if we’d received confirmation of payment over email- I advised no as no one had taken our email address. He took it and later that day and email came through to say 3 working days. We waited no payment- the gentleman on the phone kept apologising and say it’s unbelievable and he’ll get right on it. I then rang again Monday ‘ oh issue with the business account’ I’ll pay you out of my personal account it will be in by 5pm today. No money came through- rang the numbers I had for them ( they’d been speaking to me on about 3 different numbers) no answer- so I texted- no answer.

I then tried again in the morning ‘ oh sorry my phone broke it’s being repaired’ convenient. Please give me a few hours to collect my phone and I’ll pay you while on the phone. Called him again then at 3:45pm ‘ he’s on his way to the phone shop now he’s 5 minutes away and will call me in 15 minutes and pay while I’m on the phone. 45 minutes later no call, no payment. I sent a shitty text- finally a phone call back, gave the bank details over the phone transfer made on the phone, checked account money there- payment was received on the 9th September.

Glad payment has been received, but would not use this company again and after handing over the keys looking at the reviews I thought oh god what have we done. It took a lot of hounding them and continuously ringing to get a resolution but we finally got there in the end- it’s definitely not worth the stress and hassle this causes.

Where can I start…absolutely disgusting…

Where can I start…absolutely disgusting fraudulent company preying on vulnerable people. These scumbags collected my mums car giving my mum a fake contract to sign and will be taking the car with no intention to pay. They called my mum 4 days after taking the car after promising a payment of within 24/48 hours, making out there was something wrong with the car and it was making a noise. This was a complete lie and this was the SCAM, they wanted to offer much less than what was agreed. We said we will collect the car, they said you can’t it’s at the garage and provided garage details. We called the garage and they had no information on that vehicle and it was not at this so called garage. They are liars and will do anything to not pay or pay much less..we finally got the money back however did not happen without a fight and ‘Lee’ was just disrespectful and provided false information the whole time.

We sold our car to this company

We sold our car to this company. Came and took it gave us a contract for the price of the car.
Within a day or 2 lee contacted myself saying that he had until the 5th day to pay the money which I agreed. He paid myself the money he owed and sent the money to the finance company. However, nothing was received from lee to the finance company. We are 2 weeks in and have received the money for the finance company and I have paid it myself.
Lee can be quite rude and abrupt at times but I was rude back and matched the energy he was giving myself.
The car with finance is worthless to them and it was in his interest to pay the money. In the end lee and his other colleagues was polite but it has been a stressful time. I would recommend as you do get your money but be prepared for arguing false promises and the stress.
