Summary:
I was offered £15.3k online, buyer told me that value changes daily, I did it again stood next to him and it now said £15.5k.
They told me my car had been well looked after, low mileage... offered me £14.2k.
They said the system does not account for how the market behaves, and they would not make any money on it if they bought it for more.
The entire process from beginning to end was toxic, with usual used car salesman tactics.

Detail:
Buyer was late, turned up with the usual tactics talking about number plates impacting the value and I told him the quotation was after the plate change.
He then started questioning my paperwork, which I told him all service work was done at the dealership that I bought it from, they said they could not accept the digital copy and would withhold money until I could get them the invoice.
I spoke to their office and was passed to a manager who said he would look through it himself, then returned my call telling me he had to take it off Amin because of what he needed to discuss... then tells me:
1. my low mileage was an issue because it meant the car was worth more and people don't want that.
2. speculated about what I was using the money for, trying to get me to tell him how much I had remaining on finance.
3. told me the dealership were selling it for much less, which I countered that the dealership had actually offered me more than they were, which he said they could... make that make sense.

He then went on to say that the online tool is just a value based on car valuation, if that was what was used he would be out of a job and that they assess the market (and then knock £1,300 off apparently).

I did not assume the full value, in my head I already assumed they would knock money off but I told the initial booking that if they were going to play games, they need not waste anyone's time. Yet here I am, wasting the morning with a business that never had any intention of being transparent.
This is not a carefree, easy process... its just being suffering the same used car tactics on your doorstep rather than on a sales forecourt.

Having bought a new car I wanted to offload my old (14yr old) car, but didn't really know the best way to go about it, and definitely didn't want any hassle with it.
I went on the WBUC website and instantly got their valuation, then clicked to take matters further. Within a minute I had received a call to arrange a viewing at my home in a couple of days time (it could have been earlier). I also received an email confirmation with all the necessary details, and follow up emails/tel call to confirm I still wanted to go ahead.
The WBUC representative, Wajid, arrived as planned and was polite, friendly and efficient. He took lots of photos, examined my paperwork and took the car for a brief test drive. After uploading the information to his office he passed on their offer to me, which I accepted. The money was in my bank 15 minutes later.
The offer was around half of the website valuation - perhaps I could have got slightly more somewhere else, but I couldn't have got it as quickly or painlessly, so I'm very satisfied.

We got £800 less than was estimated on line. But we were happy with that. As we didn’t have to go through private sellers where we could have probably got more but would not have been reliable and stressful etc.

Selling my car was a simple process, from booking the appointment to Adam viewing my car at home and purchasing it. I accepted the slightly lower offer than the original online offer, however, this was still £425 more than webuyanycar or the garage had offered as a trade in.
Although it is convenient with the whole process taking place at home, I did feel quite anxious and did my homework first by looking at other reviews and looking up the company on Companies House.
I would recommend webuyurcar. If you accept their offer, the money is transferred into your bank account immediately. Adam was friendly and professional.

Process speedy and straightforward although disappointing in the difference between initially suggested price and final offer.
Main concern is that it has now been over 3 days the car I sold to them is still on my driveway and after contacting the company they advised that it won’t be collected again today. Sold on Sunday and will not be collected until Thursday. What’s more annoying is the fact I have bought a new car which is currently parked on the street, obviously not ideal or safe.
Very disappointing.

Update:- Today is Thursday 6/3/25 and said sold car is still to be collected. Rang company again and they said it will be tomorrow now. I have a private drive that is housing a car that does not belong to me, 5 days now. Absolutely ridiculous and they do not have the decency to call me, I have to chase them. They have all keys so I cannot move the car to safely accommodate my new car…very disappointing
