We want to scalp your classic car
I approached this company via there online form, trying to get a valuation of my car, as I did not have a good idea of what it might be worth. They came back to me quickly to arrange a viewing, which I thought was odd, but agreed to it. When they came they offered to buy and take it immediately, for what turned out to be a very low offer. I thankfully turned it down and said I never gave the impression that I wanted to sell straight away, just wanted a valuation.
Whilst I'm not convinced that this was a deliberate ploy, but rather poor communication of expectations from the company. I can see how this tactic could lead to some clients giving there cars away for way less than the market price, due to feeling under pressure from the unexpected buyer on their doorstep.
Please be clearer with your processes when dealing with clients, as this can be quite an emotional transaction that you need to be sensitive too. Turning up to buy something with no prior discussion of prices, is not a fair way to go about this.
