USED TO SCAM!

I was scammed through Etsy by someone using this platform to pretend they were Etsy. I had just set up my own business the same day and never used the sellers page before. They claimed I needed verify my bank account to receive payments from people buying from my shop. Scammed £300 from me and said that the verification didn’t go through and needed to pay another £300. This is where I realised the payment had been sent to Wert and I had been scammed. BE AWARE AND CAREFUL! Wert have not commented or gotten back to me.

Hello, we’re very sorry to hear that you were scammed. Unfortunately, fraudsters sometimes misuse legitimate payment services to deceive people, and we take this matter very seriously. Wert has no affiliation with Etsy, and we never ask users to send payments to verify their bank accounts.

If you haven’t already, please contact us at support@wert.io, and we will do our best to assist you. Additionally, we strongly recommend reporting the scam to your bank to investigate further.

Site involved with scam-site sport-varuhuset.com. Don't use that website, hopefully Wert comes through, doubt it since it was there service that provided the paying process.

Phishing Scam gave Wert my stolen Visa card info

Edit Mar 14 - I acknowledge Wert's reply that they are "taking it seriously". That said, there are close to ten million Etsy stores and 80 million Poshmark users, etc. Or in my case, Tindie. When we see a charge on the credit card and do a quick lookup to verify and the top line on google says "Unified Payments Provider" and "NFT / Fiat" (what is NFT or Fiat? like National Financial Trust or something?) we are apt to make a quick judgment that we are dealing with probably the correct type of company. Now, if the top line were to say "crypto" then most people know what that is and would more easily be able to distinguish what is going on.

Edit Mar 13 - I am modifying this review to neutral (or preferably null) as I continue to gather information that leads me to suspect that I was never actually in contact with this company at all, rather I was likely (unknowingly) in contact with a scammer/fraudster who interceded in communications the day of the fraudulent transaction.

Edited Note from March 11 and Mar 12 follows

This company (or most likely a criminal pretending to be them) posed as a financial transactions provider for a company called Tindie (the "ETSY of electronics"). They somehow infiltrated Tindie's internal messaging on Feb 26, 2025 to pose as an "OrderBot" for a seller's first order, and messaged to complete the first sale by linking to an official looking e-commerce identity verification and establishment of bank account details for where Tindie should send money (I did not realize that Tindie uses Paypal for this). They then require a $150 USD transaction to confirm that they can send money through the established channel to the bank account. They are committing criminal fraud.

(Edited Note Mar 11) It has come to my attention that it is possible that I was the target of what is known as a "phishing" attack and that the sophisticated looking payment setup on Tindie's website was a fraudster pretending to be Wert, collecting my credit card details, then using that information to make a purchase from Wert. However, as of this writing (Mar 11), Wert has not reversed the fraudulent transaction with my bank in Canada, which I identified as fraud within 24 hours of the crime.

(Edit note Mar 12) - My bank has refunded me (the actual amount of $290 USD). This was almost certainly a case of identity fraud which would have happened in real-time. Further phishing attempts on me linking to IP addresses in St Petersburg, Russia, posing as Canada Revenue Agency, came in to my local telephone number from Canadian phone numbers within several days after the original attack and compromise of my credit card on Feb 26. The original fraudulent domain name linked from Tindie was s5centr-verifyuser.world which is now a broken link but at some point was registered in Barcelona.

Caution with Wert – Involved in Scam Transaction

I had a disappointing encounter with Wert when their platform was utilized by a fraudulent website, sport-varuhuset.com, for a transaction. fake website redirect you to their website to buy crypt and send it to a wallet, it is almost impossible to understand something as such is happening. They made a process so smooth that you do not undersand that you are getting scammed.

On realizing the scam, I contacted Wert's support team for help, I got a very well detail response shortly, meaning that it is not the first time that this happens.

I would like to personally congratulate and praise Wert for creating a perfect tool for scammers.

Avoid this company

I used this company as it is partnered with Best Wallet for buying crypto. I bought $240 of tokens on Best Wallet but was shocked to only receive $180 worth. Transaction fee was $10 and network fee was $1.73, so where did the other $48 go? The reason was that ETH was used for the transaction, and Wert used a rate 25% more than the market price at the time of the transaction. Their customer services told me that this was due to current market volatility. This volatility could in no way cause a price increase in ETH of over $500 in the few seconds it took to process my transaction. This company are blatantly ripping people off, and I am disappointed that Best Wallet have chosen to use them. It makes the crypto trading part of their wallet totally unviable economically.

Hi Jonathan, we understand how important pricing transparency is, and we’re sorry for any confusion. Wert doesn’t set market prices directly - the ETH/USD exchange rate you see includes a small spread, which accounts for market fluctuations and liquidity.

For full transparency, a detailed breakdown of your total cost is available throughout the purchase process. You can always click ‘Purchase Details’ or tap the info icon to review all details before proceeding.

If anything still seems unclear, we’d be happy to go over it with you - just let us know at support@wert.io!

No answer, no chat, no money

Chat center replies you after a week asking what's wrong even though I sent them all the info, they just read the messages without replying. That's very upsetting giving the fact money for buying crypto is involved. Hopefully that guy Ben or Yiting have time.
Don't recommend.

Scammer gang

These are real scammers.

In December, I carried out several transactions through Wert. io and unfortunately only later realized that they charged me over 30% in transaction fees. For €5,000, that’s €1,500 in fees that I paid. However, their website states a 4% fee.

I have tried several times to get in touch, but no one has responded so far.
I am now considering taking legal action.

Hi Jonathan, we’re sorry for the delay in response and any confusion regarding the fees. Our standard processing fee is clearly stated in our platform as well as in the email receipt, and we do not charge 30% for processing transactions. Additional costs, however, may include gas fee or exchange rate fluctuations.

If you still have concerns about your past transactions, please reach out to our support team at support@wert.io, and we’d review this for you!

Transaction cancelled and card debited

My transaction failed, but $150 was debited from my card.

Order: 6QMR7f
Order: 5mgtvz

They claim that I have not been charged and advise me to contact my bank, but I was charged by Wert. They keep repeating the same thing over and over and are not helping me at all.

Please resolve my issue as soon as possible. Either send the crypto or refund the amount to my card.

Hi Danielle, we hear your frustration - we wanted to check if this issue has been resolved. To clarify again, we did not charge your card. In cases like this, banks usually place a temporary hold on the funds, which should be automatically released later.

If you’re still facing any issues, please let us know, and we’d help however we can.
