Trailer Purchase
We purchase a new 6M trailer from White Horse Motors Exeter, with lots of additional extra's i.e winch, car load etc, when delivery was taken the trailer did not come with remote winch control, we were advised we had taken it when the deposit was taken, which was incorrect. When the delivery of the trailer was taken and checked over on return to our office, the jockey wheel was observed to be damaged. We advised the garage, we did have the electric winch control and jockey wheel was damaged. The remote winch was then found by the garage, but advised jockey wheel was not their fault and responsibility. On examining of the jockey you could see the tread was very worn and not a new wheel. We have purchase numerous vehicles from White Horse Motors and we are very disappointed with the service and response. From this experience we will not be looking to purchase any other vehicles and trailers from the garage, a disappointing experience in terms of customer service.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, however there are some inaccuracies that you have failed to mention and expand on, but I would like to address.
Firstly, as you are aware the overall transaction was not entirely smooth on your behalf. Initially there was no mention of needing to arrange finance, it was only when trying to arrange a handover that this first came to light. It took 6 weeks for the funds to arrive with us, but as you were an existing customer, we were very patient and understanding by keeping the trailer off sale from the general public, even though we had other customers wishing to purchase it. It’s a shame you have forgotten to mention this in your review.
With regards to the Jockey wheel, I can confirm that throughout the trailer being in our possession its condition was new, to imply otherwise is neither fair or acceptable. Upon collection prior to leaving our premises the trailer was in perfect working order and was checked over by Angus, your representative, to ensure it was to standard, and he was happy. In addition to this, our trailers undergo a rigorous safety/quality check when they arrive with us, as well as another prior to handover. Please note that on both occasions there was a clean report with nothing to note. We are Quality Secured Accredited Trailer Centre by the National Trailer & Towing Association, and trailer safety is paramount to us, having supplied and maintained trailers in excess of 50 years.
I understand that as well as excessive wear on the tyre, the jockey wheel arm is also bent. These Jockey wheels are robust and heavy-duty if used correctly, they do not get damaged or bent easily. The situation that is most probable is that the Jockey wheel worked its way loose whilst being in transit at some point, connecting with the road, causing the arm to bend and the tyre to wear. This is an unfortunate scenario, but it does happen. As I’m sure you are aware, in accordance with UK Law, the trailer is the sole responsibility of the driver, whether that’s coupling up or towing. Although we do a visual check that the trailer is coupled up correctly, and may assist our customers, we always ensure the driver of the vehicle does the final check to ensure they are happy to tow the trailer before they leave our site, as it is ultimately their responsibility as soon as they drive the trailer onto the road.
With regards to the winch remote, yes this was misplaced by ourselves internally for which we apologized for and made sure a brand new replacement remote was made available for you to collect immediately at your convenience from our reception.
We are a family run dealership and believe on honest and friendly dealings, with this in mind we are disappointed that you feel that you will no longer wish to have future dealings over such a small and unfair matter that we are not responsible for, with this in mind we welcome your decision.

I have used White Horse Motors for all my vehicle needs for a long time now.
I find them helpful, friendly and professional.
Nothing is too much trouble and they make me feel that my custom is valued.
Sometimes garages can feel daunting for a female. I never feel that way at White Horse.

Sales process was fine but after sales terrible
Initial sales process was fine, with good test drives offered. Delivery was later than promised and had to be chased. Custom work was terrible - took too long, no updates given and quality of workmanship was very poor.

Wouldn't say the staff were rude but I actually bought my car years ago from Whitehorse motors- CD player worked for a matter of hours- took it back- they reset it- worked for a couple of hours again- then bust. As I live 30 miles away it would have cost me a fortune to keep going back so I just left it. Paid a lot for the car. if anyone feels like getting on touch to actually resolve this then get in touch by email please.
