Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 85 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complain about the excessively high prices for mediocre and low-quality goods across multiple departments. Shoppers often encounter spoiled, rotten, or expired food items displayed on the shelves. Additionally, consumer service is frequently described as unhelpful, and employees can occasionally appear rude or dismissive when asked for assistance. Some reviewers were happy with certain staff members and specific store products. For instance, a few people praised exceptional employees in the fish and specialty departments who provide outstanding service. Others mentioned enjoying particular brand products or finding decent freshness in specific items, showing that positive experiences still happen occasionally.

Josue Astl is a racist who accused a man who was sitting eating his food be PAID for of stealing. Then Josue tried to ban him from the store because he didn't like the fact the customer could prove he didn't steal. Dont shop here!!!

Terrible store management

Terrible store management. Let’s not talk about the lack of professionalism Josue astl provided over the years. Hopefully, corporate look into these particular store.
I wouldn’t advise anyone to shop there.

Cakes can be better. Not flexible to accomodate change

I get all my foods from here and been a loyal customer for over 12 years. They are indeed expensive as I pick only organic. However, the BIGGEST downside I noticed is- their bakery cakes where we cannot customize with sugar substitute like Honey/ Stevia/Monk Fruit etc. I wish they have standard instructions to reach more customers who prefer sugar free and white flour free birthday cakes.

Laoban Chicken Dumplings

The cashier was courteous. I purchased Laoban Ginger Chicken Dumplings. Sumptuous but I had to reconstruct them. Unfortunately, the package was not frozen solid. Nevertheless, I re-rolled dumplings , air-fried and indulged. Yum Yum

Whole Foods poisonous with Apeel: Fruits and vegetables

Whole Foods packaged “O” vegetables and fruits produced in China noted “in small print” and now they started carrying vegetables and fruits sprayed with Bill Gates carcinogenic Apeel that extends their shell life and makes fruits and vegetables rubbery and completely poisonous. And for organic they use” Organic Apeel”. This is a greed and profit team: Bezos and “Bill hates humanity and nature.” Whole is no longer whole but poisonous!

Whole Foods is Not The Same

We used to only shop at Wholefoods but have found our local Plum Market to be so much better eventhough we pay more. Every time we bought organic strawberries or blueberries at WholeFoods usually neither were sweet but now when we buy these at Plum Market they are always sweet. So I now believe Whole Foods buys these lower quality fruits so they can sell them for less. This is terrible but it’s consistent with many other negatives… like no longer using organic flour in their breads..ever since Jeff Bezos/Amazon purchased this Company. I sure don’t miss Whole Foods at all!

Why Shop Here

My local store is very small and very messy. Dairy substitute foods are, for reasons that are not clear, found in the fermented foods section. Products that are supposedly carried by the store can not be found. I have wasted too much time trying to find specific items.

Chemicals in organic spices

WI location went to buy bananas. They were out as earlier in day a case of raw chicken dripped over bananas. This felt like good protection.

Where have an issue is the organic 365 spices. Both ginger and cardamon bought had on back *sterilized chemicals commonly used in the spice industry. There is a steam sterilization process commonly used. I asked customer service by email about this. Their response: we can't find this info out from supplier. Really?

Returned all spices. Buyer beware!

Unhappy

Worst boneless pork chop I have EVER had in my 69 years of life. Tough as shoe leather no flavor even with a shake & bake & applesauce assist. The asparagus side had me cutting off the mushy, past their prime spear tops (the best part) leaving yet again a bland tasteless stalk - thank god for butter. The russet potato (baked in the oven) was the only saving grace of this meal. Whole Foods (Amazon ruined you) you are overrated.

You are flashy & over done in your new Hyannis MA location & while people are flocking to you like sheep, a condition that comes with anything new on Cape Cod - time will tell. Howeve, I will be sticking with Traders & local smaller markets who have never failed me.

Bought one sushi and one roll at Whole Foods yesterday. Very very very disappointed it was dry no taste and probably the worst sushi we ever had. Paid $37 overpriced. Chopsticks were the cheapest chopsticks I’ve ever seen.

Beware! You'll get sliced meat on the expiry date!

I almost never order groceries delivered. I like to pick items, especially produce and meat. I was in a holiday rush and so went against the grain and ordered some items for delivery.

The grocery items I ordered were fine. Sealed jars and cans with good expiry dates. My mistake was ordering Virginia ham. It was not in the prepacked and sealed manufacturer's reusable zip bags that you see at the store. It was a sliced to order ham and had been packed three days earlier. It arrived on the expiration date. That meant it had to be eaten the same day. What a waste.

I had some the day of delivery and threw the rest away the next day.

Don't buy their sandwiches

About a month ago, I wrote a review on sandwiches I had purchased at Whole Foods. Someone from the store saw that review and commented that he would ensure the issue was resolved.

They did not resolve the issue at all, this time it was worse.

I purchased two sandwiches, one egg, and one tuna. The egg sandwich again had the thinnest film of egg filling it was possible to place on a piece of bread.

It was basically an egg sandwich with no egg in it, also no butter. WTF?

Are you so cheap you can't afford butter on your sandwiches?

Just around the corner is another store with better and cheaper sandwiches. Guess where I will be shopping next time?

Whole Foods going downhill …

Service by 3 employees in 3 different areas of the store strikingly rude. I am used to friendly service at Trader Joe’s, I’m afraid. Also, many fewer products are now sold at WFs than were a year ago, and the shelves are rather empty and disorganized.

Needs Improvement

Before the family sold Wholefoods it was the best place to shop for organic and natural foods. Now you have to read every single label to make sure it is.You get 4 burnt muffins for $7.49. The employees must spend more time on their phones than watching the oven, and they don’t sell a lot of things anymore. The quality of the bakery has declined seriously. West Hartford, Ct locations.
