Not a very friendly welcome

The London Stadium/West Ham

It took 45 minutes from leaving Stratford station to arriving in my seat.

This has probably been one of the most unfriendliest away visits I have experienced. However, I'm sure that west ham, united, are not concerned about the attendance of away visitors.

I was searched twice on the way. Also, fans were fitted into small spaces. The entrance for the away Fans to get into the stadium was smaller than the amount of fans attending. Therefore, it took longer for us to get through the turnstiles,
then it would normally.

The London stadium or West Ham United should have allowed more turnstiles for use by away supporters. Also, supporters were put far away from the pitch, probably, In order for the players not to hear their support.

West, ham seem to hold the world record for, refreshment prices. I saw a packet of crisps for £2.35. The area for the away supporters to get refreshments seemed very small and overcrowded, as you will see from the pictures attached.

Also, the design of the men's toilets seems to be quite strange. The way in is the same as the way out whilst the other stadiums, they are different entrances and exits.
Therefore, if you're planning on visiting the london stadium for a football match or any event in the future, my advice would be to arrive at the station at least an hour before your match or event to allow time for all the security and the long walk to a possible distant entrance and enough time to perhaps purchase a coffee or refreshment before the game.

Ownership killed this club

Ownership killed this club. Killed the east London area just to increase their bank accounts. We are not West Ham no more. It’s not just my club, but it’s everything around the world. Keep sports about sports. Keep politics out of sports. I worked for my club in the stadium shop 16/17 season. They slowly but surely got rid of the old stadium staff the real West Ham workers/fans & replaced with non-football fans / foreigners who are there for a paycheck. My ex manager for the store was a Everton fan. Despicable.

Clueless/lazy staff and mixed messages

Staff are confused, say conflicting things, and generally lazy. Simple request for my programme vouchers which were included with my season ticket (and hadn’t arrived in the post). Called them up and was told I’d be emailed about it. Wasn’t contacted so called up and told to attend the ticket office to collect them the following day. Arrived and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Came back and they weren’t ready. Waited another 30 minutes then stressed I needed to get back to work (went during my lunch break). They even had the cheek to suggest I come back at 6pm (when they shut and it would be chaotic as kick off was at 8pm). It finally turned out that once they could be bothered to go downstairs they had a bucket full of voucher booklets and they could have given me one an hour ago… to top it off, they tried to say that I could only have the voucher for Chelsea and I had to remind them that the whole pack of vouchers was included in my season ticket and I needed them all because they hadn’t posted any to me. Absolutely shocking because I had explained this several times and they were either clueless or just didn’t care. I work in a customer facing role myself and I appreciate it isn’t always the best job in the world but they could have put a bit more effort into getting my vouchers and I could have resolved the issue in a few minutes instead of waiting over 90 minutes for someone to pull their finger out. This was only a straightforward request but the fact that even this couldn’t be resolved with constantly asking them for an update is disappointing.

Great service

Great service. The problem was I ordered a chocolate tin, first one being dented on one corner, they sent a replacement, still a slight dent. The quality of the tin was terrible, cheap and much like a tin can with a ring pull, for £6.00 you should expect something better than that, rubbish item West Ham. Expecting to keep the tin, but seems quite worthless.

Unexpected Visit

Myself and my wife are from Glasgow and were down staying in Stratford in March for the weekend to see the Abba Show and we had a walk around the stadium and popped into the stadium shop and ended up buying a nice training top.
One of the staff was wearing it and he pointed me downstairs to where they were on sale.
Fortunately they had my size and I am very pleased with it and remarkably, it irons like a dream, even over the badge and logo.
So many tops like this end up washing or ironing poorly but well done West Ham for not going down the "cheap-sh*te" route and giving their fans good value for money.
Shop was very clean and staff very friendly.

Stadium Tour

Did the stadium tour yesterday. The tour guide was well informed. BUT after being a Hammers fan from the age of 9 now 59 I left the London Stadium after the tour feeling very sad. I now know why this Stadium still doesn't feel like home. When you enter the Stadium to see behind the scenes it's an empty shell of escalators leading you to heartless areas of the ground. It's like going into the O2 Arena for a concert not a football match. It's all about the 2012 Olympics and the running track and not about West Ham United. The guide even tells you that once the season has finished any West Ham related branding is completely removed until the season restarts, like we were never there. There's more focus on baseball and music concerts and how to turn the venue around quickly to cater for it! No history, no identity and no heart. Sitting in an empty Stadium only emphasises the voids within the ground and the wasted space where seats should be. Renting our Stadium is not the answer. We deserve more and if the board read this for goodness sake do us all a favour and buy this Stadium turn it into a proper football ground and stop treating it as just a business opportunity and start treating it like the football club we all know and love. Having done the tour at Upton Park, there's no comparison, at least that made the hairs stand up on my arm even if the ground was rundown. A very upset emotional Hammers fan 😢 ⚒️

Kier Starmer apparently was gifted two…

Kier Starmer apparently was gifted two seats for a home game in February valued at £2000. Why were these seats not gifted or raffled for the community ? What did Westham get for their money? Sounds like someone on an ego trip wanted to say they invited keir Starmer. Really awlful stuff

Don’t mess about with online shopping go to Lakeside shop if you are able. ⚒

Do yourself a favour and go to the Lakeside shop !! I won’t lie, I have used the online service in the past and it wasn’t great. I now go to West Ham Lakeside shop where the staff, especially the management team are always, friendly, helpful, very professional and accommodating. The lads and lasses in there are West Ham fans so feel as passionate as we do. I know not everyone is able to go to Lakeside for geographical reasons, but if you can I’d advise you to do it rather than mess around with online etc.

Disgusting service.

£100 paid on the new strip from Official Westham Online Store. Arrived flung in a grey parcel bag scrunched up and no interior bag. Bobbles in places, Letters stuck on wonky, deep faulty grains and folds that do not iron out. Material is very cheap. Avoid at all costs and boycott the club store! Happy taking your cash just like the club are happy to up pensioners and kids season tickets. AVOID! Wish i could upload photos.

Ordered two limited edition 1500final…

Ordered two limited edition 1500final shirts. They arrived and look like the normal cheaper ones without sponsor logo? As they sold out a year ago doubt they are genuine so asked for them to arrange collection or pay for postage as they are not as described. Hardly ever reply to emails and 3 weeks so will be taking them to small claims court.

Non-existent customer service

I wish I’d not bothered. They cancelled part of my order without telling me, then despite me telling them that I don’t want ANY of the order if they couldn’t fulfill ALL of it, dispatched the other item. I have two children, I ordered a shirt for both of them, you can see the problem with me only getting one. Customer service have totally ignored me, and I’ve heard from others that they’ve had similar experiences. I will never be ordering from the online store again.

Never again!

I am a West Ham Supporter of Greek origin. So when Olympiacos came to town last November, I jumped at the opportunity to go and see the game. I purchased two tickets for me and my wife for a total of £ 152. A few days later I received an email from West Ham asking me to 'prove' that I am a West Ham supporter. Not sure how one is supposed to prove if you are a supporter of a particular club. They asked me if I had a West Ham shirt or scarf, the answer to both was no. I was then told that my tickets were 'blocked' and that I would not get admission to the game. In order to spare my wife any emabarassment, I stayed at home and watched the game on TV. I asked the club for a refund, which they refused. This is - plainly speaking - outright cheating a supporter out of £ 152. Never again West Ham!

Would give a minus score

Would give a minus score. Ordered 2 Prague winners T shirts 2 different sizes. They sent them both the same. At my own expense I was told to return 1. Since then nothing, they have 0 customer services. No-one ever answers the phone. 14 days plus if your lucky will they consider answering an email. Wish I'd just kept it. Absolutely disgusting way to treat your supporters.

JUST TO SAY I COMPLAINED ON THE SUPPORTERS LINK, WHO HAVE ARRANGED AN EXCHANGE, OF WHICH I HAVE CONFIRMATION THIS MORNING. HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS.

Two faulty home shirts !!

Two home shirts ordered, both sent out faulty. One heat damaged and the other the letters on the rear were uneven. No reply to may emails and no refunds as yet. Awful and disgraceful shopping experience. Buy your WHU merch somewhere else as they do not deserve the income.
