Positive experience

Positive experience. The house was big,clean and there was everything we needed for our stay. Emil was very friendly.Very good choice for a danish holiday!

I hosted through Wimdu a few years ago …

I hosted through Wimdu a few years ago and only had 3 bookings for my self catering property.
I was lucky, my guests couldn’t have been nicer & am still in touch with one family to date.
Wimdu I don’t rate highly at all. No help or response to questions or requests from customer service.
I withdrew my property from the site. There are much better companies to book through. However, I have to recommend that guests book direct if they can.

Terrible website

Terrible website, first you can choice host then pay and then wait for the response from the host. Money are paid and them if host refused your booking yo have to wait for refund and find another hostand pay again and again until someone accept your booking. I did not receive my money back they just told me they don’t take payment but on my statement I can see transaction from wimdu. Never use this website again the most terrible rules for booking website I ever saw.

Appalling customer service

We are totally unsatisfied: our complaint has not been resolved to our satisfaction at all. After multiple emails the only thing that we are replied with is an offer of a ridiculous 20 euros voucher. Which is more of an insult than a compensation after having paid more than 1700 euros for 6 nights accommodation. The heating of the bedrooms and bathrooms did not work at all, as my son had to sleep with a scarf and beanie just to keep warm during the frozen nights, with an outer temperature below zero degrees (December 11-17, 2017) We are absolutely appalled with the way we were treated, and will most certainly never be using your company again. My sister ( a hotel manager in the Canary Islands) who was with me on the trip, along with myself will be giving bad reviews to our friends, clients and on social networks about your digusting customer support and treatment.

Disappointing customer service

I had a voucher from wimdu which I allocated to my booking. Unfortunately due to my host being away when I tried to book the first time my request expired. The following day when the host contacted me to say they were back and to try again with the order my voucher code had expired. I contracted custome services who basically said it’s tough which was disappointing.

Stay away from Wimdu!!!

Please stay away from this home sharing platform, especially if you are a host. As a former Wimdu host, I stopped hosting on the Wimdu platform after we could no longer tolerate the following:
1. Lack of transparency with fees. The amount provided to hosts is never what was noted in your invoice. There are hidden fees that were never disclosed.
2. Lack of representation for hosts. False claims and complaints made by guests will result in immediate monetary fine for hosts. There is no opportunity for hosts to repeal false statements made by guests.
3. Lack of support for hosts. Guests that break house rules or even the federal local laws will not receive any penalty from Wimdu. (Unlike hosts where fines are immediately enforced, please refer to #2) It is up to the hosts to ensure guests follow the rules.
Overall, the company is unethical and unprofessional. You’ll lose money, time and energy, and most of all a pleasant night sleep after dealing with them. Save yourself the unnecessary stress and aggravation and go somewhere else!!!

I stayed in two places in Gent Belgium …

I stayed in two places in Gent Belgium via Wimdu. The first place stank of garbage - the kitchen was four flights of stairs from the bedroom. I had to leave. The second one there were no curtains on the bedroom window. No table in the bedroom. I would never use this company again.

Pay for nothing

Contrary to other booking services, Wimdu took my money just to submit my request to the host without confirming anything. This is called steeling.
Hell I could have requested the booking myself. When I tried to call their UK and USA numbers and after 15 min of waiting they just cut the line (and I'm calling from Germany). I wrote to them but they never replied. Now I don't know how the hell I'll get my money back as I got no word from the host either. DON'T USE THIS SITE. you are warned.

Fantastic accommodation!

Lovely accommodation as advertised. The villa that we rented in Corfu had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and gave us lots of tips on what to see on the island. Definitely a fantastic experience!

Wimdu stole my money

I have hosted since 1212 on this site but this summer wimdu managed to change my bank details and customers money was sent to unknown bank account.No help from customer service and they owe me more than 4800 euros.I am In a desperate situation.Pls help if anyone has had the same problem

Spamers

Spamers. I had a profile for my rental and received only spam and falsified booking inquries. I cancelled my profile and still receive spam from Lena von Wimdu, the head spamer. Unsubscribe does not work, they will keep bombing you with spam every day.

I have great trust in Wimdu

I have great trust in Wimdu, your money is not released until your happy and that is very important to me. I have used Wimdu a number of times so good to deal with, and very straightforward, i am 100% happy with them and would certainly recommend them.
