We've got kick out from one of the Wimdu appartement owners. He never gave us our deposit back neither the days we were supposed to stay at his appartment.
After talking with Wimdu they said they were not responsible for that. The owners had previous problems with other tenants and it seems it wasn't his first time stealing from tenants. Wimdu DOES NOT check his tenants neither takes responsibility for them, they will simply take your money and give it to landlords and its up to you to deal with the situation.
I DO NOT recommend using Wimdu has you can never be sure who you are going to rent from, and Wimdu will never try to compensate for whatever happens to you or your friends coming with you to a place you book through them.

Would advise everyone not to use this website. They took the money from my account and then said i had to wait and see if the owner will let me stay in her apartment even though they took the money off me. The owner never replied so i got an email from windu explaining its likely it wasnt available at that time even though they advertised it as available. They then told me i would have to wait 7 days for my money to go back into my account which left me with very little money left. I should have checked reviews first as most of them are all pretty bad. Do not use this website!
A very pleasant week's stay in Glasgow booked through Wimdu
Wimdu was very helpful after I managed to book the wrong dates for a week's stay in Glasgow. This was sorted out, in conjunction with the host, very efficiently. The website was easy to use and the arrangements worked well. Our host (and her little dog) was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay in her house.
I would gladly recomment Wimdu as a booking agency.

I've used this site three times now and had no issues. Been a great place to look for and find places to stay all over the world. Only reason it's not a 5 star review is because of the additional costs for telephone support. Wimdu do offer email support but it's several days 'til I received response.
This site comes recommended and has a better reputation that others that are similar in my experience!

I was originally sceptical of Wimdu having never heard of it before, and the prices were also really good. My friend and I booked anyway and so glad we did - really nothing to fault. Being from the UK I often use Airbnb but since have looked at Wimdu again for further trips as the prices were really good. Wish there were more English places to stay - that's my only fault!

Booking process
From the booking process to the end of my stay in a Wimdu apartment, the experience was great! Wimdu’s services on the phone helped me do my booking, and took care of the whole process for me for my stay in London. After the booking, I received a contact from Wimdu, since the host cancelled my booking before 1 week of my trip, and I panicked. However, their customer support helped me find and alternative, which turned out to be great! I will surely book with Wimdu again.
Best Customer Support
I've made 3 bookings with Wimdu for different cities and on different occasions. Customer support was of excellence in each time and they helped me throughout the reservation steps. I consider it to be much better than the Customer Support of other companies like Airbnb and Booking
Wimdu - Croatia - Trip
My first traveling experience with Wimdu was good. The host was very helpful and the apartment was the same as in the pictures of the offer. The apartment was very nicely equipped and situated in Croatia. The host made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible even though we didn't have a car to travel to the beach (a bit far away).
Wimdu hopeless service!
I booked an apartment for the next year for a week time. The reservation had automatic confirmation. HOST then writes to me that the prices are out of date for the following year and that I have to cancel my booking because of the huge consequences of the WIMDU for HOST.
Wimdu wants me to pay the cancellation costs and write that the host confirms the reservation.
I write to HOST at the same time and she tells me that the reservation must be canceled.
This is probably some kind of dream.

Stay away from WIMDU
Stay away from WIMDU! WIMDU has the slowest website, and an even worse customer service. they just won't react or call back. Apparently they only have one (1) customer rep available and this Raquel Carrilho is not the brightest one. She just answers by sending their terms and agreements and that's how far she gets. We had a 400 euro damage claim that is not met by WIMDU and they required a FAX (really, yes, really) of 8 pages to be sent to their office. The worst of it all is that they neveer vet their customers. So stay away from WIMDU!

Host canceled a week before our arrival! it seems the hosts on wimdu can cancel your reservation anytime! we had planned our trip two months before our trip on Wimdu and they let the host cancel on you a week a head of your arrival time-funny that the place is still available to rent!and they hold our payment for two months!I wish I knew this is even possible , at least I could reserve a hotel room 2 months ahead of time with reasonable price! a week notice it's too late to plan and find a reasonable rate accommodation in US!have a backup plan if you are relying on this site hosts!I am really disappointment!and will never use this website and the host called "Elle Wien" who manage lots of properties in NYC and San Diego on Vrbo and Wimdu!and they say it takes up to 7 days to refund your credit card charges..be careful and have backup plan..this website and host are not reliable!

Having booked an private room in an apartment in Prague 21st May to 28th May, imagine our disappointment when we saw the room, dusty, window hanging from frame, furniture falling to pieces, fridge seal taped up, stained and cracked crockery, wiring sticking out of walls, no lock on private room door. Got fobbed off by host. couldn't believe what good reviews this place had, they must be made up. we sent photo evidence to Wimdu, and they didn't seem to want to know, we got a refund of their fee £20. Horrible company. They have scammers and fake apartments on their platform, not to mention they charge hidden fees which range from 10 to 21% based on the country you're in.

Have just paid 3x for an apartment in Tel Aviv. When I phoned they were helpful but made me rebook twice more, restarting browser etc.They INSIST they have not got our money in their system yet...the cancellation doesn't work because it's not showing our booking yet.The contact the owner button sent an e mail to the owner, and actually Hugo tried to ring the owner, who was out. I hope they respond-but there are no reviews on the site and the owner has had the property since April 16......HOPE its not a scam........
