Dont Bother

I am not sure where to start. Firstly they didn't actually make my place live for 2 weeks until I reminded them, When they did make it live they a) modified the profile very badly but more importantly they put it on at a daily price for a week, unsurprisingly I got loads of requests. When I corrected this I didn't get any requests which is understandable as you cant find me under London, my town, my area or my postcode. I have tried to get this resolves with them and to be fair they tried to call me twice but I just missed the call from Germany on my mobile and contacted to get them to call me back they didn't. This has been going on for over 2 months and i will now close my account.

There are better companies

Payed 800 Euros via Wimdu for an apartment which did not exist. Tried to contact Wimdus customer support via both mail and phone. It took several days to get an answer to my mails. Got finally back my money.

2 cancellations in less than 24 hours

Don't use wimdu! I reserved an apartment in Spain which was canceled less than 24 hours later. After that, I reserved another apartment to replace the canceled reservation. Reservation #2 was canceled 3 hours later. Both cancelations came with a message that it rarely happens. If 2 times in less than 24 hours is rare, then this crap company has big problems

our booking was cancelled they have told us conflicting reasons why

we found an apartment in berlin on the wimdu website and proceeded to book it and pay by credit card, we messaged the host as they suggested. but i received an email back from a different email address whiuch i think may have been fraudulent, they asked for all my details and scanned copies of my passport, but their email was annon?? which was suspect. they told me that my booking and payment had been cancelled by wimdu and that i should pay them direct, alos offering me a big discount on the original amount i'd paid!! i emailed wimdu and they would NOT tell me the reason for the credit card payment being cancelled, they have promised to refund me, and say that there was "unusual behaviour" from the host? but the host told me that wimdu had a problem with my booking? it all looks too suspicious!! so far i have NOT received a refund, but i have reported the matter to my credit card company. i would NOt trust this site.

FRAUD

Just as some other people are mentioning there are frauds going on on this site. My friend booked a room in Barcelona that was advertised on Wimdu and payed after he received the instructions.
We arrived at the site just to find out we were scammed cause there was no real address number an nobody to contact(he was in contact with some guy before thru e-mails, but only later when we saw them again we felt stupid cause we were easily manipulated).
Wimdu customer service is non existent cause we didn't get any answer from anybody after numerous contacts thru mail, facebook and other instances and you can't call any telephone number.
Of course we didn't get our money back so do yourself a favor and stay away from Wimdu

Wimdu continue to ignore me! There is no customer service whatsoever!

FRAUD

Well, I report my experiences:
1) I am approached by a gentleman who wants to rent my house, checking dates and clear seeing them accept it. after a while I realize that there 'wasn't the synchronization of calendars (never happened until now) and are forced to cancel the reservation. seeking a number for customer support, but there isn't exist the one thing to do its fill in a form and wait (on other sites there are number 24/24, email sites and fax) after 2 days we can delete and send me an email in which I have to pay 82 euro to Windu(15%), ok I think not 'my fault, but that's okay. After a few days a girl contacted me and she wants to reserve the house, but she does not trust because she saw my property with my name and my profile as in my town and in New York (well I think I have been hacked), and wanted to have information to avoid being cheated. I begin to read the review (in several languages), and surprise, surprise almost all the hosts were hacked (as and 'possible? Years plus) and thousands of people cheated the site obviously know nothing about it, and washes his hands. i begin to think I have to pay 82 Euros and you're not able to sync calendars and hackers will wander undisturbed for years without that you do not do anything? Absolutely alarmed remove my property and I decide to cancel the account (in other sites there is' a special area to delete the account when you decide you no longer want to be part of it) on Windu not you have to fill out the same damn format.Windu disgust you with all my heart!

Ridiculous company! Stay away from them!

Listen to my story: wanted to book a room. Didn't succeed because every time I have put my credit card info there was an error occuring.
I called them 3 times, every time they were telling me that they will come back to me, guess what - they never did. And one day later I am getting this email:
Sophie Swanson, Apr 18, 16:23:
Dear Marta,

My name is Sophie Swanson and I'm contacting you from the Wimdu Support Team.

While conducting a review of our recent transactions in conjunction with our payment service provider, we noticed some unusual behaviour on your Wimdu User Account.

In order to protect you and our system we placed a block on your account and unfortuantely we will not be helping you make a booking using our website.

Here at Wimdu we are constantly working to maintain and improve the security and usability of our system.

We thank you for cooperation and understanding.

For any further questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to search our FAQs or to contact us using the “Help” section on WIMDU

So that we can improve the service provided to you, we would love to get your feedback. In 48 hours we will send you a satisfaction survey where I invite you to rate the support that has been provided to you.

Best regards,

Sophie Swanson from the Wimdu Support Team

So I wanted to know what I did wrong that they blocked my account as I am super sure that I just wanted to book a room using my valid credit card.
Guess what they have written back?

Sophie Swanson, Apr 19, 16:07:
Dear Marta,

As I said yesterday, unfortunately we cannot continue with your booking. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Sophie Swanson from the Wimdu Support Team

Stay away from them

I reserved a room instead of an apartment, and i tok a contact with them the day after to change my bookingn to another apartment on their website. They said that i should first pay cancellation fee and they tok 25% of the total cost although the booking was flexible and 5 months before the booked time!!
So be careful they take 15% fee for reservation and 25% for flexible cancellation.

Wimdu allows host uses misleading images

It's a nightmare.
Booked an accommodation with misleading images so I informed Wimdu but no actions taken and then my booking got cancelled 10 days after booking?!!? Promised a 100% refunded but I received less than I should because of services charge on their mistake?!? My advice to fellow travelers, never use Wimdu, because it doesn't protect its users. It only protect themselves and it's host.
Still a nightmare

AirBnB is not the only choice

I came across this website looking for accommodation in European cities, the Wimdu listings offer a lot of choice.
I have only stayed in one place so far in Amsterdam. Searching was effective, maps are good, prices are good, communication is good. Quality of accommodation was high.
Very satisfied

never book via Wimdu

We were looking for an appartment in Amsterdam an booked one through Wimdu. Never got details from the host about how we can get the key. But, we already payed € 1120 for it!!!!! This made me very worried. After some research, I found out I'm not the only one.
I have been trying to contact Wimdu, but they are not answering my mails. I can't find a telephone number anywhere. This company should be closed!!!!

VICTIM OF FRAUD DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!!

DO NOT USE WIMDU! I have been fraud-ed out of £1,122 of which Wimdu have been very dismissive about. They offered to provide me emails with alternative hotels/apartments (STILL HAVING TO PAY AGAIN) however they never did. I booked an apartment with 3 of my friends for my 21st birthday and now thanks to Wimdu I am £1,122 out of pocket and have had to book a last minute apartment for my birthday via a different SAFE WEBSITE. The host of the apartment sent me false leading emails with Wimdu's logo and vat identification numbers. I got in contact with Wimdu by sending countless of emails of which never got replied to, until I found an emergency contact number on google to one of Wimdu's support advisors. WHO then gave me the news ''you have been frauded'' with no apologies, telling me that I had to sort this out myself and in no way could they give me my money back OR even help towards another apartment. I was rushed off the phone when asking all the questions I had to ask Wimdu about my fraud case. I have informed Action Fraud and my local authorities, but I will now not be getting my £1,122 back and thanks to Wimdu my 21st birthday has been ruined as well as feeling let down and at risk of cloning/fraud again. PLEASE everyone be careful when booking holidays through websites like this, I have learned now the hard way but thanks to Wimdu they could NOT have made my experience of fraud any harder.
