Great quality but fell short of expectations. Was never asked about hair/ eye color before purchase so I received a book with a character that looked nothing like my granddaughter. He name was only in the book twice! She had to have it explained that although the little girl didn't look like her the story was all about her adventure. Would have loved a preview before shipment. I may have rethought this purchase.

As stated before, I expected my granddaughter's name to feature more than just 3 times. I had bought one a few years ago and that granddaughter's name did appear more and surly that is the whole point of the book. Disappointed.

With our bestselling Lost My Name series (consisting of The Little Boy/Girl Who Lost Their Name, The Little Boy/Girl Who Found Their Friends and The Little Boy/Girl Who Dared To Dream), we wanted to do something a bit different from other personalised picture books on the market at the time. Rather than slotting the child's name into a pre-written story, we were the first to create a personalised story built entirely around the child's name.
In all three of these books, the child goes on a special journey discovering adventure, friendship and kindness, and how to follow their dreams. Each letter of their name changes the content of the story and the characters within it, so a child called Charlie and a child called Amelia will experience a very different journey in their respective books.
Rather than simply inserting their name throughout the pages, the child's name itself becomes the story and creates a sense of mystery and intrigue.
I hope this helps to explain our thinking behind the series.

Sorry to hear that the story wasn't quite what you expected. In our Lost My Name series the stories are built around the letters in the child's name. Each letter of their name changes the content of the story and the characters they meet along the journey. This creates a sense of excitement and intrigue as they piece together who the story is about in anticipation of the final magical reveal.
