Up to so far, this was my second experience with Workaway. Both were a success, as it fitted with the info available on the site for both of them. So I really plan to continue using Workaway, and recommending it !

I love to travel slow, on a budget and want to experience the "normal" life in different countries. Workaway is perfect for a different way of travelling. You meet local people, are part of their life/project and see places you probably wouldn't visit, if you travelled as a tourist. You will learn some things about culture, families, surroundings and probably meet nice people.
I have been using Workaway for a long time and never had any trouble. I stayed with teachers, pensioners, families, rich and poor, with people who tried to make an idea come true.
I have been travelling for a lot of time, often changing location after a few days to discover the country.
But sometimes it feels super nice to have a base for a bit longer, doing something different then "just" travelling. Workaway makes this possible. Sometimes friendships have developed, rarely it's a place that didn't play out. But even then, it's always an experience...
You get food that is typical for the region and a bed to sleep in - sometimes you have your own room/caravan/cabin, sometimes you share a space with other workawayers.
Communication with the host is essential for a good and just exchange.

Great to travel while discover news peoples, places, learn news things.. and sharing! you travel cheaper but come back more rich!

I am fairly new on the workaway website, but so far I can give a positive feedback. Looks like most workawayers have a special approach to life, to traveling, to people and countries. I have had three of them so far and two I would be happy to welcome again.

Workaway gives a wonderful opportunity to land in some new destination. In this way you can get both an accommodation and connections with locals who can introduce you to the place, just love it!

This was my first experience hosting through Workaway, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The platform worked very well from the beginning and made it easy to connect and communicate clearly.
The cultural exchange is real and meaningful, and this experience gave me confidence as a host. I’ve shared this experience with people around me and hope more people join Workaway, as it truly connects people.
This experience has motivated me to continue hosting in the future, and I’m grateful for how this first experience turned out.

Workaway really gave me the opportunity to share a living with local people and get to know their way of life. This is exactly what I was aiming for.
I got the chance to practice my Spanish. And last but not least, the effect it had on my travel budget was increadible - I got to stay longer, tarvel more and see more.

It is a really good platform to volunteer. It has many opportunities around the world. You can check with other traveler's experiences.
I find it super helpful and easy to use.
I must also mention that luckily, I haven't had any issues to report, so didn't have to talk to customer service and so on 😊

The information you ask is very pertinent, as if the workawayer is smoker or not, or the diet, which we think is very important for us. Sometimes for some reason things don t run so well as we expected, but is completly normal, as everyone has its ups and downs.
Everyone is different and some volunteers have a big expectation and some don t have experience in life and it can be a bit tiring to teach them when they only stay for one or 2 weeks. I am not very clear about tasks sometimes, or schedules, but it can be demanding to have homeschollers and youngsters at the same time to deal with. 95% needs to work by our side. we usually talk with them when something doesn t go well and we try to find our convergences. Some volunteers return, other keep contact by e-mail, and we can define a good experience when we had time to organize the work previously.

The opportunity to slow down and spend time with locals and be of service.

Best platform for voluntary service if you are travelling around! If you have a project you can host nice people around the world no matter if you live in a remote area.

We really find the website trustworthy, someone is verying every step of your application and feedback written. The website is easy to naviguate, We liked the fact that most places had a lot of reviews as well, and a lot of people also answered lots of our questions.

Workaway is great, its been so helpful to have great people support the vision and the land of my farm
