I had a fantastic experience with Amal…

I had a fantastic experience with Amal A today. She was incredible patient and understanding, and she resolved my issues quickly and efficiently. If I do return back to contract work, I will definitely re-register with Workwell.

Worse umbrella company ever. RUN

Worse umbrella company ever.
If you have the unfortunate occasion when agency sends more than 1 timesheet at same time to be processed, Workwell will process them all at once, adding all the hours of all the timesheets together like if it was a single one, BUT CHARGE YOU the amount of margins per timesheet they initially received. Then you will be CHARGED MORE TAX due to them using a weekly threshold to process all the hours of all the weekly timesheets. So if they receive 4 weekly timesheets of 40h each, they process them all, charge you 4 times their cost (margin), issue a single payslip for 160h worked in a single week and use the weekly threshold of £242 for tax purposes. Meaning you will be taxed on all the money above that!!
The payslip clearly states how many timesheets they processed, and after I raised it they admited that they processed them all in one go, adding all the hours into one week of payment charged several margins but say "it's their procedures" and cannot undue it, and I lost a quarter of my salary. When approaching them a third time they even had the nerves to tell me to contact HMRC and sort it!! So I pay them for what, to be robbed by them for a lazy job of adding hours and process one single payment??

Plus... they decide to issue a P45 before processing a final timesheet, then they call me saying I need to register with them again otherwise they won't be able to pay me!!! What kind of joke is this?
They had all my details there, they deleted them or did whatever, and I have to sort it????

Update
They did the same to another contractor from my agency, and last time I heard the agency was about to stop using them.
Trustpilot sent me their message wanting my name to get back to me, except nothing would be change. Workwell's reply on this page is just to look polite. What happened to me could have been corrected by them, they just refused it. I spoke to different staff members, including managers from complaint's department. They refused to change or correct their strict and stupid procedures that steal contractor's money. - 17-07-2025

Ross has been amazing the past few months. He efficiently closed down my company, provided me with the softcopy of company accounts from FreeAgent I needed for managing my tax affairs, and went above and beyond helping get my tax return closed out.
