Just joined, and already having a lot of questions; got a quick response in chat. Having to get to used them being on UK time since I am on Chicago time.

Seems like a tremendous amount of useful items that I can use on multiple creative projects, not just for worldbuilding. So, I decided to expand right away from Master to Grandmaster. Ionna was very responsive in helping me figure out the upgrade costs. I did not get back to her until after business hours were closed on Friday and I approved.

First thing today, Monday, she upgraded me. I didn't have to follow up at all. I really appreciate her responsiveness and remembering to do that.

I have a lot more questions and I from what I have seen so far, I am sure this responsiveness and helpfulness with continue!

Just recently had an issue with my billing. I contacted them and the person who responded was very friendly and made sure they understood what I was asking. After understanding, they went to work seeking out answers and came back to make sure they had the correct information (transaction ID, and so on). After some only a day or so they got the issue resolved.

Normally billing is a stressful subject, but the team at Worldanvil made it easy, like really easy.

Super useful for sharing all your world building with your players and excellent customer support!

Ioanna was extremely helpful when I had payment issues. The community on this site is really lovely! I also love the templates for different articles. They have questions that really get you thinking about your world in a way that helps you broaden your understanding of your creation.

Had a problem with a discount code being applied, and a representative contacted me within a few hours and quickly worked out a solution. Great product so far!

There system glitches and doesn't keep track of cancellations. They allow for a cheap introductory rate and then auto re-subscriptions at a higher rate. It was a complicated blogging system and so I cancelled and did not receive any confirmation. A year later they resubscribed me at the higher rate and their customer service refuses to work with me for a refund. Even tho I did not use or log into their service since the original first couple of months when I tried to make it work, and I contacted them within hours of then processing the fee.

Alright, I'm going to start this off with the fact that the error that occurred was on me. I have two world anvil accounts - one with a paid subscription that I use and the other as a backup, mainly to see how my players would view the pages. With that said, I recently got an email about my subscription ending. Okay cool, no problem, there's even a sale going on so I renewed. A few days later I got another email saying my subscription order failed to go through - except it had a completely different (and long-expired card) being used which was the reason it failed. Turns out, I bought a subscription for the blank account and not for the account I actually use.

Immediately upon realizing what happened, I canceled all my subscriptions and emailed customer service in order to either refund the order or figure out a way to fix this. Bad news was that refunding would not be possible. HOWEVER, the good news was that we could transfer the subscription from one account to the other - that's exactly what I ended up doing.

It was a very simple process and I'm glad it worked out.

Excellent features for building an online work space. It takes a bit of practise, to learn all of the many tools at your disposal, but even if you only use some of them, your thoughts get catalogued nice and easy.
No more papers getting lost in busy folgers. It`s like your second memory brain.

I used to write often as a child & into my early 20's & was often told I was a talented writer & should pursue creative writing. In my early 20's, I'd often write poems & was quite good at it. I had even read my work in front of crowds of 100+ people a few times! However my ADHD made completing projects nearly impossible. That, coupled with a discouraging relationship & it was as if my ability to create was taken from me. A decade went by, I hadn't written a single thing. A sudden, chronic lack of inspiration. Every time I tried to write it felt forced & hollow.

Despite this, I write down my dreams as soon as I wake, trying to find different ways to reignite my confidence & passion in writing. Even falling in & out of love with a soulmate wasn't enough to cure my writer's block!

I daydream, perhaps a concerning amount & I thought it might be helpful to have some sort of tool where I could keep track of all my fleeting creative ideas. I asked ChatGPT for any kind of free program that I could use to potentially put these ideas down somewhere & maybe organize & expand on them. ChatGPT suggested a few, including World Anvil.

I browsed every single one & even just at a 1st glance, this was clearly the best option. Just what I was looking for & more. It is unbelievable how complex this site is & all that it's capable of while still being easy to navigate & understand. Just when you think you've discovered all its features, you find even more advanced options. You can create an entire world, full of so much information - clear, concise, & even have the ability to connect these elements to each other just by the click of a link.

There are dozens of guides, how-to videos, & even a Discord to join. Of course, it isn't just for writing. It can be for D&D campaigns, world-building in different projects, etc. Use it for big ideas or small ones; The lore for a videogame or tabletop game, etc. I could see authors using this to expand on the worlds inside their novels, to share with their readers any details never mentioned in the books. Or I imagine teams collaborating & building off one another to make entire worlds with unique languages, customs, solar systems, geography, races - you name it.

You can leave it private, among friends, or open to the public. You can even receive feedback from viewers. Just endless potential. It is so helpful, too, just to keep track of everything you've created so far & make sure nothing is contradictory. This is the kind of website that you could likely build a world so complex, you will already have the premise of an entire trilogy before you even begin writing the first book.

I found the website only a few days ago so there is still more I have to uncover. The free version offers even MORE than you can imagine. However, the more I used it, the more I realized how beneficial having one of the paid plans would be. There was currently a sale going on & I meant to purchase the Grandmaster plan (with said discount), but after placing my order I realized I accidentally only purchased the Master plan.

Their customer service was so understanding, quick, & efficient in upgrading me to the intended Grandmaster plan at the price I would have originally paid had I not foolishly chosen the wrong one. No extra fees or anything. I cannot put into words how ecstatic I am to have found this website. I want to (and almost have) told everyone I know about it! I am inspired to create for the first time in over a decade!

The customer service got back to me so quickly & fixed my mistake, no issue. I already can tell that this website must have an amazing community behind it & I'm beyond excited & hope I can really create something good for the 1st time in years. I 1000% recommend this website. Free or not, the paid plans are definitely worth the money, but the free one offers more than enough helpful features, too.

I could go on all day about all the helpful features & how inspired I feel & how fortunate I feel to have something to guide me back into connecting with my creativity. I haven't been using it very long to offer much constructive criticism as I haven't yet even encountered something that I don't like. It has been positive experiences only thus far & I'm almost certain if I do come across something that needs improvement, I have no doubt that the developers will take user feedback very seriously.

I can barely contain my excitement with how much I am going to be using this site. Suddenly my brain is firing on all cylinders. I feel this tool can really, truly change the trajectory of my life if I continue using it refine my talents. Thanks so much to the developers & the customer service angel that was so polite, helpful, & quick!

The World Anvil team was surprisingly responsive on a Sunday (I wasn't expecting a response until Monday at the earliest). I was gifted a higher-level subscription while part-way through a lower-level subscription and the WA team worked with me different options to make sure I could make the most out of it.

World Anvil is an incredible tool for story writers, world builders, game/ dungeon masters and just about anyone else that is looking for an easy, intuitive and sleek way to create and explore your stories and worlds.

Honestly I started using this platform to better organise my notes for my players in a game of D&D but it has become so much more than that, and provides much more that just simple Web pages. The community and staff are incredibly helpful and make time for others - the staff (Ionna in my case) take the time to reply to you understand you, and go out of their way to help you.

Can't ask for a better home! I found WorldAnvil in 2020 and it's been everything I've dreamed of and more when it comes to writing, worldbuilding, and community. The company is fast to respond, helpful, and generous, whether you have questions about the site or changing membership plans around, and I've been pleased every step of the way. Recently discovered my husband didn't cancel his account as planned so I didn't anticipate his renewal charge, however, I reached out to cancel without seeking a refund, WorldAnvil got back to me immediately to help. They offered to add the paid-for time onto my own account too, which isn't something I'd considered, and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and kindness in sorting that out. There's more to value here than just a great product--the creators and staff behind WorldAnvil are themselves a treasure.

A truly incredible and gifted team of administrators runs this application, which is incredibly useful for writing and world building of any kind. Though their team is small, you would never know it based off of their incredible talent and user base engagement. A truly special project.

When I first subscribed to World Anvil a year ago, I barely got any use before forgetting about it. Fast forward to a few days ago, and the auto-renew charge suddenly wiped out a large chunk of my mid-summer college student paycheck. I wrote an email asking for a refund if possible, and within a few days they were kind enough to give a partial refund. Excellent service and customer support, very professional and actually goes beyond the par for users.

world anvil has great tools that have been really helpful for writing and organizing my world building project.

recently I've had to replace my computer and could no longer auto login, couldn't remember my password or that of the email (which is not my main email) I used to setup the account.

in spite of all that Ioanna and Maddie were able to help me regain access to my account, while also taking steps to verify that the account was not being handed over to the wrong person.

I've not had such luck with other websites I have lost account access too, most of which have told me "oh well, guess you have to just loose everything and make a new account!" I'm very thankful that hasn't been the case with world anvil.

I'm giving a 4 star review because it's more likely to be read. I hope both the team and people considering membership do take it into account!

First of all, I love WA. It's an amazing site with fantastic functionality. I write science fiction rather than RPGs so a lot of it isn't designed for me, but it is just so full of possibilities.

Unfortunately, that was exactly the drawback for me. WA is such a huge site that I never had time to explore it properly. It is so content-rich that I used it for about three weeks before I stopped finding the time to keep following the tutorials and navigating the site. What I wanted was the ability to make simple linked maps, to keep track of where everything was in my world. That's why I signed up and, a year later, I still am not sure if it would have been possible. I just wanted a giant reference library so I could make sure that, say, the Rainbow Inn wasn't accidentally called the Wyvern Bar in chapter 17. In the end I could barely tell what was part of my world and what was part of the site.

I would strongly recommend having two membership tiers and a customisable UI. For the first of these: the current rate is just so high. I think it's worth the cost for such a big site, but I think loads of people would really appreciate a smaller, cheaper, easier version that they could get familiar with. I'd have engaged a lot more if I could have.

Second, customer service. I had a GREAT experience with the team. My auto-renewal kicked in at a bad time and the team offered a partial refund. But, as others have said, this feature drives so many negative reviews to begin with and I was lucky that they considered a partial refund in my circumstances. For a site I only used for a few weeks, of course I forgot about it year later. In my case I stopped using the pen name and email address so I recognise that's my own fault.

I really believe that a cheaper, easier, smaller tier would solve all a lot of these problems as people wouldn't sign up for huge annual membership then give up after a few weeks. More people would stay on for longer and would upgrade when they needed more of the site. It's just a suggestion though.

I honestly don't believe WA tries to be predatory and I really hope to use the site in future. It is a great site for those who use it but a smaller, easier, cheaper core site could reach an even larger audience. I do think it should deserve five stars given how high quality all the content is.

I rated this company a good 5 stars because of how it has simplicity and complexity in the same website. There is so much it can help you with, and when you think you've seen it all. . . it comes out with just one more surprise!

Been using world anvil for years, and had to contact support for an issue, and Ioanna solved my issue and processed immediately.

Will never stop recommending World Anvil not just for being a great comprehensive product - but now I can say the service is excellent. Thank you!
