I ordered items from this online store

I ordered items from this online store, unfortunately i used my personal debit card instead of my business debit card. As i realised instantly as i ordered, i contacted the company to enquire if i could cancel the order and reorder with the correct card before the item had been processed. I received a reply informing me that there system does not allow for a refund unless i return the item first. {item is still in there possession} I offered to pay again with the correct card and after the new order and payment had been received they could then refund my original payment. "No sorry our system wont allow us to do that, we are going to post it out to you then you can send it back to us, then when we have received it and inspected that it is unused as we shipped it to you, then we can refund you your payment, then you can re-order" OMG This company must be living in the 1970s operating with pencil and paper. Rant over, never to return to this company again. I realise this was my mistake originally but common sense does not exist with this company.

You're absolutely right that you got in touch with us immediately after placing your order, and we responded quickly to your inquiry. However, the order had already entered our fulfillment process by the time we connected with you. After our initial reply outlining our standard return-first policy, we didn't hear back from you until after the item had shipped. At that point, our options became more limited by our system's processes.

We recognize this timing created a frustrating experience, and we want to explain why we maintain this return-first process:

Stock Control & Security: Our refund and reorder procedures are designed to work in tandem with our inventory management systems. Allowing refunds before items are returned could create significant discrepancies in our stock levels, making it difficult to accurately track what we have available for other customers. This protects the integrity of our supply chain.

Anti-Fraud Measures: Processing refunds on the original payment method before receiving the item back is unfortunately a common vector for fraud in e-commerce. By requiring the physical return and inspection first, we can verify the item's condition and confirm the transaction is legitimate. This protects both our business and our wider customer base by keeping fraud losses low—costs that would otherwise be passed on to all customers.

Payment Processing: Different payment methods (personal vs. business debit cards) route through our payment processor differently. Reversing a transaction and then immediately processing a new one can sometimes trigger security flags with our payment gateway, which could result in both transactions being declined. Our sequential process helps avoid these technical complications.

We recognize this approach may feel outdated compared to some larger retailers, but these safeguards exist for good reason. We genuinely hope you'll give us another chance, and we're open to feedback on how we might improve communication and processes in situations like these.

Smooth transaction

Ink pad - good price and good service

I wanted a particular colour of ink pad. So I looked on line and there were various prices and amounts for postage. I had never dealt with any of these companies before, but World of Craft were the best on price and I was pleased with the service and prompt delivery - and with the ink pad!
