Nothing to complain about. It's been 40 days and I'm learning French quite fast. I'm interested in learning other languages through the same app after I'm confident in French so I hope they'll put mo... See more

A waste of $$!

After much trial and error (login link is dysfunctional), I can access some of the courses, but not the one I originally paid for (Lebanese Arabic). I Subsequently paid for the polyglot extension. Customer service is nonexistent. The site is difficult to navigate. I have made several attempts to contact them, to no avail. $$ wasted!

Pretty good courses but should be polished up.

It's not a scam, as some people mentioned before. The company offers legit, full-fledged language courses and there are lots of varied materials included (testing all the skills of language acquisition) and what's also important to note - only native speakers were recorded.
Being a seasoned linguist and working at a university in the TFL department, I and my colleagues have thoroughly tested about 30 best known language courses available online (both, on PC, Android and Apple). The 17 Minute Language courses were among the ten best ones when it comes to quality of content, variety and ways of testing.
Also, logins and passwords always come to the selected email addresses, every single time.
HOWEVER, sadly, it is not to say that there are no issues with their courses:
- there are occasional, glaring mistakes (wrong translation, wrong grammar). Infrequent but there are, I can't understand why the company would allow for that to be the case.
- customer service is non-existent (or close to non-existent), nobody ever replied to our messages, even ones coming from researchers and professors evaluating their product.
My suspicion is that they prepared the courses a few years ago and left them stay on the site as they were back then. These years the courses are bringing in certain benefits to the founders and that's it. They probably run other businesses and services now.

Too many mistakes

Too many mistakes (Portugese - Dutch). The 17 minute language company probably used an automated translation function, without checking its results. For instance the Portuguese word 'acto', which means in English 'action' is translated into 'manual'. And the Portugese word 'igual' means in English 'equal' but is translated into 'immediately'. Etc etc. Plural and Singular are mixed up. Articles are often not used although from a translation point of view it should. Why is it so badly done? One expert would be able to remove 95% of the mistakes within one day of work. Where are you "17 minute language company"?

SCAM

The French language course was not qualitative and even contained several mistakes. After two days I cancelled my subscription. Normally, like stated in the general condition, I would get a refund. They promised to give me my refund after two weeks. One month Iater... I'm still waiting on it. 😡

Warning- criminal organisation

Warning! A bunch of crooks. After paying € 80-, for me and my partner for the Spanish course, after a few days nothing worked, no entrance, no emailadress (no reply) etc. The money is thrown away by a bunch of criminals who say to hide in Germany (Munich). Don't put your money in these fakepeople because they are false and only interested in quick money making

Best online Latvian course

This is the best online Latvian course to learn vocabulary. I've tried a lot of online courses for Latvian since none of the big language companies teach Latvian. Very happy with it. Can be developed further and not just focus on vocabulary

Its ok but I was expecting bit more

Its ok but I found a few mistakes in the translations, living in Estonia for a while you get to know some words and often times the translations they gave were not the everyday used ones to make communication easier

They also throw many words up at once and you have no clue how to use them in everyday situations, as a learner how am i to understand what a line of 4 or 5 words are for each word with different endings without any explanation at all.

Thanks for your reliability. Please correct my mistake of choice of a gift for my 1000 points

I like the concept of 17'languages. In November and December 2016 I bought three languages : Brasilian, German and American.
After six years of silence of me on the site, I got the great surprise to see that my inscriptions were always valid. I knew that the life of a method is 10 years, but on the web there are so bad surprises 🤣
So congratulations for your reliability.

I did a mistake, as I chose a reward for my first 1000 points, I taped "Afrikaans", but I can't cancel and choose other language. I would like "Egyptian". Could you change it for me. Thank you in advance.

Scam

Scam. The Malagasy course does not have more words or phrases or excersises, than the free trial. For 29 euros scam.

Once I figured out how to use this…

Once I figured out how to use this course it got better for me. I learned that I needed to write down any/all words I didn't know with their meanings. They seem to be in sets of 20 words/lesson. This I take and look at and recite any time I can throughout the day getting ready for the next day.
Because of this method I ended up spending much more time each day than expected.

Audiotrainer does not work

Audiotrainer does not work. So I tried to write a message on their Contactform. Not possible, because of: Unfortunately, your message could not be sent due to missing information.
I am very sure I filled in all blanks correctly. Their normal e-mail does not exist.

Great Course to Increase Vocabulary

This is a great course to increase your vocabulary. I would not take this course if you are a true beginner. But if you have already learned the czech alphabet, and some basic knowledge of the 7 cases and how they work, and some knowledge of past & future tense, then this course is great. Without vocab, you really can't speak or understand others so this course really increases your vocab and the price is also great. I definitely recommend it.

German and Latin American Spanish courses

I bought German and Latin American Spanish courses on 17 Minute Languages about 1,5 months ago and, as a professional linguist and teacher, I can say that they're quite good and the lessons are fun and engaging.
I access only some portions of the courses as I don't need to do exercises, pronunciation practice etc. I just go over vocab and grammar (in every course and language, not just this one) and it is fully sufficient for me so I can't comment on exercises etc.
Anyway, what worries me is that their customer support doesn't seem to exist any longer. They don't reply to any messages - neither via direct emails nor via messages sent on their website :(
I just hope that the company didn't go bankrupt and that the website remains online..

Scam, best avoided

Appears to be a scam. I paid for the course but am unable to access it. The company doesn't respond to its own contact form and its phone number leads straight to an automated message. Best avoided.
