Hi there,

The free shipping option you selected is 3 to 5 working days, however, this is provisional until the carrier has contacted the customer to arrange a delivery slot. I understand the carrier has now contacted you to arrange delivery.

As all palletised deliveries require a signature upon delivery the pallet network does not despatch the order to the customer's address until they have called the customer to book a delivery slot; if they are unable to contact the customer prior to delivery the actual delivery date may be outside the 3 to 5 working day window. The telephone number we request during checkout is the one we forward to the carrier so they can contact the customer directly; for this reason we advise all our customers to provide a mobile telephone number which they are able to answer during normal business hours.

Please accept my apologies if this was not made clear; until the carrier has actually contacted the customer to book a delivery slot we are currently only able to relay a provisional delivery date from the carrier.

In response to your review and other recent reviews there are forthcoming changes to the options displayed during checkout: the free shipping and standard shipping options will provide a list of available delivery dates allowing the customer to pick the exact day they would like their order delivered. The overnight delivery option will continue to be available for those who need their order in a hurry!

Hi there,

Thank you for your review. During checkout all available delivery options are displayed for the current order; Saturday delivery and next working day delivery are available for most products as is a standard free delivery which provisionally takes 3 to 5 working days.

If the free delivery option is selected we are only able to relay an estimated delivery date from the carrier until they have actually called the customer to arrange a delivery slot using the telephone number supplied during checkout.

Hi Mr. McManus,

Thank you for your review. We do carefully select shipping options for each product to ensure the total price paid for any order (including delivery) is lower than any of our competitor's. As you may already be aware we do offer free shipping on many of the products we sell.

We send all orders containing glass or ceramics via a pallet network; our standard delivery charges (where applicable) are subsidised and are actually lower than the true cost of shipping to ourselves in most cases. Orders containing glass or ceramics are loaded onto pallets in our warehouse for bulk collection by articulated lorries; the pallets used are vital for protecting these fragile items during this initial journey to the pallet network's central hub.

From the central hub the pallets are shipped to regional hubs distributed throughout the UK. Each regional hub delivers to a network of 'local hubs'; these are local courier and haulage companies that are members of the pallet network. Depending upon the delivery vehicle being used the local hub may discard the pallet if the goods can be secured appropriately within the delivery vehicle - many smaller delivery vehicles are fitted with restraints specifically for this purpose. Pallets can only be unloaded from larger vehicles that feature a tail lift and have room to carry a pallet truck; if the order can be loaded and secured inside a smaller vehicle without the pallet the local hub will usually choose that option to ease unloading.

Hi there,

If you believe there is a manufacturing defect with the valve you received please send an email (with supporting photographs attached) to support@4bathrooms.co.uk and we will look into this matter for you.

All the twin and triple concealed thermostatic shower valves we sell have spindle centres that are 80mm apart (as per industry standard) and all the concealment plates, chrome sleeves and control handles are interchangeable, even between differing manufacturers. There should be a small amount of play between the concealment plate and the chrome sleeves on every concealed valve so a poorly fitting concealment plate would be highly unusual - the plate should simply slide over the sleeves without requiring any effort at all.

Please send an email to our support department as detailed above and if it is clear there is a manufacturing defect we will rectify the problem for you.

UPDATE 5/09/14:

One of our staff has tried calling you numerous times to resolve this matter and left voicemail after failing to get through. Please send an email (before Tuesday, 9th September) with supporting images to support@4bathrooms.co.uk and, if it is evident there is a manufacturing defect, we will either send a replacement valve free of charge or issue a full refund.

We require the supporting images to ascertain the issue has been caused by a manufacturing defect and not by improper installation. I feel I should point out that the valve you purchased is fully covered by a 10 year manufacturer guarantee against faulty workmanship or materials during manufacture.

Hi Mrs. Robey,

We did contact our insurers following a flood caused by the extreme weather conditions our region experienced last month; they inspected all affected stock and decided any porcelain goods were still in perfect condition as they are expected to be wet in normal use and therefore were not damaged and still saleable.

Any moisture or water marks visible on the toilet you have received have almost certainly been caused by this and are not a sign of the toilet having been previously used. You should find there is no trace of silicone sealant around the base of the pan nor the waste outlet and the cistern fittings should still be inside a sealed plastic bag; this should conclusively show the toilet has neither been previously fitted nor used.

One of our sales staff has tried calling you (and also left a voicemail message) to offer a replacement that will be thoroughly inspected prior to despatch to ensure it has not come from the affected warehouse. However, the toilet you have already received should still be in perfect condition and only require wiping with a soft, damp cloth prior to installation to remove any visible water marks.

I apologise if the situation was not adequately explained in your previous correspondence with ourselves; I have instructed one of our sales staff to send you an email with the offer of a free replacement should you decide you would like the toilet exchanged.
