From Autumn 2017 The Kilt Store and Kilt Hire Co will be known as Eight Yards. We will describe ourselves as providers of Scottish Menswear. To do this we need to set ourselves apart from the more throwaway, lesser quality offers that now crowd our market. And we need to continue to attract new, loyal customers across generations. Used 8 yards in Musselburgh for my wedding , got measured up in May, married in September, cannot praise everyone from day 1, everything was effortless and took the pressure off, the fitting was more like being at a comedy performance such was the level of good natured banter whilst being fitted, highly recommended and I’ll certainly use Musselburgh again in an instant

Online order, in person kilt
We placed an order online to rent a kilt for a local wedding. When we arrived in town, we went to the shop to make sure our home measurements were correct. Everyone was super helpful and kind throughout the entire process. Thank you!

Terrible customer service from Ha
Terrible customer service from hamish, one of the owners. I quite “why would I waste 30 minutes out of my day to let you try on it a kilt for your wedding unless you guarantee that you will hire it”. All this when I simply wanted to see what it would look like on. All other kilt shops in Edinburgh had no issue with me doing this.

Very good experience as a wedding planner
I cannot thank 8 yards enough for their help for my client's wedding
I am a wedding planner and even tho 8 yards sent the kilt hire through 24 hours Parcelforce, the delivery was going to be on the actual wedding date, and Parcelforce wasn't able to give us any information about the time, meaning that we didn't know if the groom was going to even have an outfit.
Even tho it wasn't 8 yards' fault, they've done all they could do to help us and delivered to my home a kilt from Dalkeith, sending their own courrier just for this one item.
I've worked with them multiple times over the years and they've always helped a lot, but this time I really wanted to express my gratitude in this stressful moment to help resolve it!
