From Autumn 2017 The Kilt Store and Kilt Hire Co will be known as Eight Yards. We will describe ourselves as providers of Scottish Menswear. To do this we need to set ourselves apart from the more throwaway, lesser quality offers that now crowd our market. And we need to continue to attract new, loyal customers across generations. Having lifelong customers is really important for keeping our business strong. We already value the craft that goes into the menswear we sell and we work hard to make sure that our style and range is modern and relevant. Our new name and brand builds on these great qualities, allowing us to extend beyond kilt hire, to communicate more of our personality, the range we offer and the value of the service we provide. The descriptor Scottish Menswear. Explains what we do and includes our core business of Kilt sales and hire, without excluding the rest of our range. We are Eight Yards. We have created Eight Yards for men of all ages who appreciate quality, tradition and craft. Like us, our customers refuse to be stuck in the past. Instead we choose to wear modern Scottish menswear with timeless, sartorial style. L I FELONG CUSTOMERS For reputation and longevity CRAF T For quality and timeless value. MODERNI TY For style and business strength ST YLE In what we bring and how we deliver it Wear with pride Our customers look to us for guidance on what to wear — and how to wear it. Our staff are the epitome of our brand come to life. If you’ve suggestions for improvements to uniforms, a little twist or tweak to add that shows how we’re leaders of the style game, go for it. We ask only that you dress to impress — and wear with pride.

Awesome Kilts
Eight Yards kilts are extremely high quality and made to the highest standards. I will always trust them to deliver a product that will be completed wherever I go.
8 yard Kilt hire
Great service from Hollie at Hardengreen. She was friendly and knowledgeable in helping me choose the right outfit. I was very pleased with the quality of the outfit and couldn’t fault the service.
I have bought the ex-hire kilt
I have bought the ex-hire kilt - it looks like the new one, presise hand work, for me = 6 stars!
Just one recommendation for next customers - do not measure the waist too tight, I have to use the last notch in the buckle.
I wish you all the very best - Stanislav Predota (Prague, Czech Republic)
Arrived quickly
Arrived quickly, as described, and in excellent condition. The craftsmanship is superb. They are a work of art.and I may actually just keep them as such. Great experience.

Scarves for the funeral
The scarves we ordered for my husband’s funeral came surprisingly quickly, and they are of very good quality.
Excellent service & Product
I bought my youngest sons full made to measure kilt outfit for his 21st from eight yards.
I bought my eldest sons kilt from a different, smaller outfitters.
The eight yards shop, at Haymarket, Edinburgh ‘smashed it’.
The eight yards shop were slightly more expensive but….the service and quality was far superior.
You get what you pay for!
I have returned recently to purchase a new, made to measure, kilt jacket/waistcoat for my eldest son, who will wear it at his wedding in July.
The jacket/waistcoat is spectacular with tartan, as per his kilt, on the top of his pockets etc.
Of particular note is Katy who possesses a lot of patience and is ‘well clued’ up on Scottish/Highland wear.
Katy assisted us, greatly and deserves praise.
Great service in the store

The product has been a godsend for…
The product has been a godsend for being able to roll up my class work for transport to and from class. Also I know I’ll be able to use it in the future when I am traveling to piping events and want to have my kilt look fresh and not creased from sitting while driving my car.
Excellent service.
Quick reply to initial enquiry and excellent support with completing my order.
Happy Chappy
Had a great experience at 8yards Eskbank. was needing a jacket to go with my kilt and was really wanting to buy One. it was a green tweed one which was hard to come by but my luck was in and they found one upstairs unfortunately it was to big but was not a problem to 8yards as they altered it and got it back to me within a week and was a perfect fit. Great customer service Thank you
OUTSTANDING
OUTSTANDING! That's the only word which can describe our experience with 8 Yards kilt rental service/Haymarket (particularly Graeme Findlay, but including the whole team). We just had a large, international wedding in Scotland, with 23+ kilt rentals (including 2 kids), and A LOT of people who had never worn a kilt before. But also many Scottish people who knew what to do....
8 yards were professional, responsive, very reasonably priced, and offered friendly and experienced advice throughout. They take such pride in their work - and saved us an enormous amount of hassle by following up on the many measurements (many which were incorrect), and even offering an on the day fitting service! They anticipated our needs (offered help before we realised we needed it) and even delivered and collected the kilts.
The rental options were very clear on the website, and their tartans/outfits both traditional, but some bespoke, modern and gorgeous.
We have lived in Edinburgh for a long time, and had occasion to rent/buy kilts/trews etc many times. We will never go anywhere else now!
Quick delivery and beautiful Harris…
Quick delivery and beautiful Harris Tweed bag very happy with purchase and service.
Good speedy service
Well I only ordered replacement jacket buttons but they were perfect
Very nice gloves…
Originally looking for brown leather gloves as a stocking filler but couldn't get any I liked, fortunately the wife had just bought a tweed jacket so when I saw the tweed gloves it was a no brainer, and they look even nicer in person
Great quality scarf
Great quality scarf. Arrived in time my husband and son are thrilled with the scarf
