I bought an Audi Q4 from Hippo Motor Group and there were a few things wrong so asked for repairs. They wanted cheap quotes from garages and said they don't deal with main dealership. Unfortunately mo... See more

Absolute sham... Sold as a high end, prestige car, warranty company, yet will only cover labour costs up to £50 pound per hour and won't cover diagnostics. If you value your car at all I would avoid at all costs.

I had a car 2 days before a fault came up. I done all that A1 asked, took to garage, got diagnostic. Garage spoke with them over the phone as they requested. Got estimate as requested. A1 then 3 weeks later after me calling every couple of days to chase authorisation decided they now wanted a photo evidence (of electrical fault). I have had nothing but stress and trouble, and still not sorted. Do not recommend. Stay clear!
Since the response a video of the EGR valve has been provided to A1 and still not helpful !!! Asking for proof it isn't other things, when clearly a garage know what they are doing. Beyond stressful, please please, do not think about using these people if you want a stress free experience

Called at 10am to report an engine management light on, advised to book it into a garage and they will cover the cost of diagnostic test. By 10.30am the garage found the fault code and sent invoice to A1. I drive away just after 11am after they made payment directly to the garage. Couldn't fault the service, friendly and helpful. Never known a warranty company to pay the garage directly over the phone. Highly recommend

Ben was really helpful, explained what the difference was between the different covers and sent extra details relating to my plug in Hybrid which where not on the regular documents. Was happy to support whilst I asked questions as I completed the renewal online, just in case I had any issues. Sent electronic confirmation straight away. I felt like a valued customer and that Ben took the time to ensure all my questions were answered, I never felt rushed or that anything I was asking was not important but clearly and simply explained.

Great warranty company. Have had a huge problem with my car spanning over 8 months, every time I've spoken to A1 they have been really lovely on the phone, very proffesional, always very helpful and every claim put through quickly and with ease ! I'm very glad they are our warranty company, so much better than Kia who we were with initially !

After many problems that I was dealing with the dealer that I bought my car from, A1 has been very helpful and always in hand when I needed them. They are always very accessible and helpful with any questions I might have. I totally recommend them and I’m glad that I chose them as without them I would have been struggling to fix anything on my car as the dealer I bought it from was not interested in fixing the problems that were identified within 2 weeks of purchase.

Purchased a car in January from Junction 17 Cars who use A1 as their warranty company, after a week I noticed blue smoke coming from the exhaust.
Reported the issue to J17/A1 and they advised me to get this diagnosed which A1 paid for.
Diagnosis found that the valve stem oil seals needed replacing, A1 then set about getting quotes from garages they've used in the past and arranged for my car to be collected and taken to a BMW approved garage in London.
The work was completed by the garage who then found that the turbos needed some work doing, A1 had the turbos inspected and sent off to Midlands Turbos for rebuilding at an additional cost to the original issue/quote.
So far it looks like all issues have been resolved with the car and I can't fault A1 at all. Everybody is sceptical about warranty companies and I've got to say I was too when initially raising the issue but A1 have restored the faith, people are also quick to write a negative review so credit where credit is due. It did take a little longer than expected for the car to be returned but at least it's been returned repaired
I purchased a 12 month cover when buying my car and I'll be renewing come next January
Thanks A1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bought a car recently that was given with an A1 "warranty". The headlights have severe moisture ingress. They have said they will not cover this despite providing evidence to show their cover does not exclude this.
I attempted to raise a complaint and was emailed by a customer service rep who refused to deal with the complaint or escalate it to someone above her.
I will not be looking to go further with the ombudsman.

Absolutely shocking company. They don’t make it clear on the procedures to claim for warranty and then refuse to pay out for repairs. Brought a van for £16,000 that had no end of problems. Have paid for majority myself. Made a small claim within 3 months which was rejected because they didn’t approve it first. Didn’t know they had to and tbh shouldn’t have such problems with a new van. Disgraceful company making any excuse not to pay out.

Hippo car leasing strongly encouraged me to buy this warranty so I would not have any car issues. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The policy doesn’t cover wear and tear, even if the issue that I have Vauxhall wet belt issue, which caused a mechanical breakdown not covered? Not sure what this expensive platinum policy actually covers?
Long list of repairs to a car I have only had for 10 months and expensive warranty and hippo who gave me the car no support whatsoever leaving me with a 2k repair bill!

I have been paying for my warranty and as soon as I have a problem with my engine they won't cover me even though they told me I was completely covered absolutely useless

Bought an Audi Q3 through Hippo as new first time expecting parents, which then needed both child locks replacing at £1081.62.
A1 advised that they didn’t cover diagnostics, so this was a £140 charge for us. A local independent garage which we tried first (under advice from A1) were unable to complete the job due to the Audi software being protected and they advised that this would need to be a dealership job. When we’ve had the car looked at, we were told that the internal door trim has been previously pulled away so it looks like the fault has been looked at before. It seems that this was obviously a known fault by the car dealership who have tried to cover this up and sell on as a bodge job, hoping that by the time we realised, it was too late.
Whilst it’s annoying that costs have been incurred as the warranty company won’t cover the full dealership rate on a used car warranty, I do not blame the warranty company, I blame the car dealership.
A1 were thorough, friendly and provided an understandable and detailed rationale of why they couldn’t cover the dealership costs. Becca in particular was extremely helpful. I can’t remember all of the names of staff that we spoke to, but not one member of staff was unfriendly, obstructive or unhelpful.
You’re going to read a lot of negative reviews regarding A1 being a scapegoat for car dealership bodge jobs, where people turn to the warranty company to place blame. Whilst I can’t leave a 5 star review as I now have a big bill to pay with a newborn baby, this is an honest, representative and genuine review of my experience with A1. Beware the car dealership, not the warranty company.

Took out a warranty with them a year ago my car had a Abs fault. When I reported it I said I was struggling to find a garage near me that would use this warranty company. So I asked them what garages have they used previously in my area so I could contact one of them. They then gave me a list which were miles away from my home which wasn’t helpful. Gave up in the end was pointless taking out cover with them. Didn’t make it simple or easy to claim so wouldn’t recommend. I used motor easy in the past and they sort everything out for you so will be going back to them now my year of cover is over.
As per your reply, at no point did you state that you use Halfords as a garage. Instead, you directed me to the closest ‘local’ garage, which was a 50-minute drive away—the nearest alternative you provided. Had I been given accurate information about the garages you actually use, along with proper guidance, I would have been able to get my car repaired in a timely manner. As a result, the one-star review would not have been necessary.”

I called them to claim a window regulator repair to which they said can be done and offered garages to get the repair done but when the repair was done they told the garage that the window regulator wasn’t covered. Wasted a month of my time and 200 pounds that i had to pay out of my own pocket for smt i couldve done myself if i was told in the start that the item wasnt covered. They as a company and whole warranty business in the uk is a scam anyways .COMPLETELY AVOID!!

Beware people !!!
Bought a Mercedes EV through Hippo motor group.
was promised by the Car salesman that this warranty was all singing and dancing.
Went to claim this morning for a Spring Link Control arm and was turned down as if things found when the car is having a MOT are not covered,
What a Scandal beware of these under handed companies all they do is rip you of.
Warranty cost over 36 months round about £1800.00 would have been better to light the log burner and burn the money, Now to deal with Hippo Group. !!!!!!
