Looking at 29 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers encountered significant issues with the booking process, often finding reservations unavailable or experiencing problems with payment, including being charged incorrectly or having bookings not go through. The customer service is frequently described as horrible, with people struggling to get assistance, receiving no responses to emails, or dealing with unhelpful representatives. Horrible services .... STILL

Every. Single. Time. This site absolutely SUCKS. Every single time I have tried to book a reservation, it spins around and says "no longer available". Their customer service is HORRIBLE and their "concierge" is an absolute joke. Worst travel booking site ever. The ONLY reason I have tried to use them is to build the increasingly impossible to get "Loyalty" points with American .. another joke. That airline is racing to the bottom. Worst service I have ever had. Meanwhile, ever since Rocketmiles sold off their business to these worthless hacks at Aadvantage hotels it has been a nightmare. Find another way to get miles. Don't give a dime to this horrible consolidator. Shame on you American Airlines. Associated with this failed company

JUST DONT!!! LIARS THAT WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!

I really thought because I am a faithful AA flyer and member and buy and use anything that will gain me points. That their own program would be the best for booking a hotel. NOT!!!!!!
Booked a few months prior to reservation and when it was time it was gone. No email, reminders and nothing on the site itself. Booked it again to find out that it was double booked. Asked for refund for original one and they told me that hotel would charge me a nights fee for cancellation I told them I had already talked with owner of hotel and they wouldn’t charge me. They insisted that they did after putting me on a fake hold to have this conversation with the owner of which I was with at the time. I confirmed that they were talking to .hidden name.. and they said yes. LIARS!!!!!
Trying to make the hotel look bad and not willing to work with me. When it’s AAhotels wanting their money for their mistake!!!
Lying greedy company should be ashamed!! And tbh. Thinking now to switch to delta card and give them all my business just because. Don’t fall for all their scamming processes!!

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE. Booked with them, they never sent the reservation to the hotel and then told me it’s nonrefundable. I had to book with the hotel as well and now they have been jerking me around for over a month while I try to get my money back. Horrible horrible business practice, terrible customer service full of overseas tellers that hardly comprehend English. I moved my whole business account and going to delta now. STAY AWAY PLEASE.

Worst customer service ever!!!

Booked a hotel room through their website for 1900 loyalty points/miles. After I got no points/miles contacted customer service. They said I did not sign in to their website - although they booked the room and billed my credit card. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS through customer service (which I never got the same CS rep) and my requests to speak with a SV were for useless, I disputed the CC charge. This dispute was because they never provided the promised value. They got back to me with a SV weeks later (but no phone number or direct email). My responses go back into the group message and yet another CS rep responds that they owe my only 100 points/miles (which they have never provided). IT IS A VICIOUS CYCLE!! I'VE NEVER SEEN CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS BAD!!!!!! I would check the box below to send to Aadvantagehotels - but that is the same address I've responded to MULTIPLE times - which sends me back a canned answer (from a different rep).

Super shady

Super shady. You select a room with a price and award miles and amazing! all of a sudden "that offer isn't available anymore" and the price goes up and points go down. Super super shady. Rocketmiles B.S. Also can't get free cancellation if booking more than 1 room ... so I guess they want to make it super inconvenient for business travelers and families traveling together? And with cookies, it sees you booked one room, and 2 minutes later the price goes up and points down for the second room when you have to rebook! Dynamic shadiness, not Dynamic pricing! This is so unbecoming and beneath the level of AA's reputation and level of service. As an EP, I am embarrassed for them.

Bait and Switch

Bait and Switch. They advertise 1 thing and sell different thing. Their support is stupid than ever. I cannot believe a company like AA work with them to services their members?

If there was an option for no stars I…

If there was an option for no stars I would have chosen that. The long and short of it is we had them change our reservation to one less hotel night and we were told we would get a refund for those miles not used. Two months later and I'm still arguing with them about it. They are the worst. We will never use them again.

Futile Ordeal Without An End

It has been a nightmare dealing with these anonymous people at Aadvantagehotels. Behind the facade of being apologetic and polite, these people are utterly incompetent.

I booked two hotels through Aadvantagehotels website for Johannesburg and Rio De Janeiro.
When we arrived at the hotel in Johannesburg the hotel did not have our reservations. After taking 18-hour flights from New York we had to rectify the situation before checking in, which took hours. I lost $25 as a fine and my mileage because in order to rebook, I needed to cancel my previous booking and book directly with the hotel.

When I booked hotel in Rio De Janeiro I received two confirmations, one each from Aadvantagehotels and Booking.com. I also received an email from the hotel in Rio that I should not pay to Booking.com directly. Of course, I thought it was a scam so I immediately canceled reservation with Booking.com. I forwarded all the email from Booking.com to Aadvantagehotels.

Because of my bad experience booking a hotel in Johannesburg, I emailed the hotel in Rio directly to confirm my reservation. Lo and behold, the hotel told me that they did not have my reservation. I contacted Aadvantagehotel, and they were silent for a while. I sent another email, and finally I got an answer that they were looking into the matter and that they would reply within 24 hours. 24 hours became 72 hours. I sent an email again. There was a long pause. I asked them what is going on. They said they were looking into the matter and that they would reply within 24 hours. 24 hour became 6 days. In the meantime my check-in date at the hotel in Rio was approaching. I sent another email. After 6 long days they informed me that my booking has been canceled. I reiterated that I did not make a reservation with Booking.com and again forwarded all the emails from Booking.com. In the meantime, I still had my reservation with the same hotel intact in the Aadvantagehotels website. I related this matter to them. There has been a sound of silence since.

The saddest thing was that when I was going to make another reservation again with the same hotel in Rio the price skyrocketed. I booked in December, 2024 for Executive Suite with Oceans View for $1,400, which turned out be over $5,000 in March, 2025.
I was heartbroken. I found another hotel nonetheless.

Advantagehotels will be out of sight and out of mind.
These anonymous people are utterly useless. Also being anonymous is convenient because they don't have to take responsibility. It takes my breath away thinking about these people coming to work, do nothing and get salary. It is better to talk to a cow than these people.

I am a Skyteam Priority member and was testing to branch other options. Big mistake. I better get back to where I belong.

American Airlines cancelled my flight

American Airlines cancelled my flight, now the hotel booked through this service wants to charge me for the room as though it's my fault. DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE! In my opinion they will sell the room and get double the revenue. The points aren't worth the risk.

Customer service is just awful

Customer service is just awful. Emails are never responded to. It took three phone calls - each over 15 minutes and the issue still not handled.

Booking.com is the parent - I cannot imagine they would tolerate such bad service.

THis is also a huge disservice to the AA brand

Scroll to "PROPERTY DETAILS"

I found the Concierge personnel to be fantastic. Apologetic, understanding, and professional however absolutely unable to assist with arrival issues.

This is a third party booking service and the hassels do not amount to the points you "think" you'll earn. Not to mention if you use this website you need to scroll each area of the website and pay attention to property details.

I secured a non-refundable reservation at a hotel under construction because I failed to scroll to "Property Details." In the future I will only deal with hotels directly who disclose details up front and in plain sight on their website. Such a major renovation should appear on the first page of a booking.

AAdvantage Hotels – A Year and a Half of Missed Opportunities and Vanishing Miles

Imagine, if you will, a loyalty program that promises miles for your stay, only to deliver confusion, frustration, and disappearing rewards instead. This has been my reality for the past 18 months with AAdvantage Hotels.

At first, it was just a few odd discrepancies—miles advertised as 15,000, only to shrink to 1,500 by the time I clicked "book." But, oh, it didn’t stop there! The price changed, the miles changed, and sometimes the offer just vanished altogether. Every time I thought I was close to booking, the numbers would shift again like a magician’s sleight of hand. "Great news!" they said—"the price dropped by $20!" But with it came a 10x reduction in miles. How generous.

For 18 months, I’ve been stuck in this bizarre loop, being advised to clear my cache, use different browsers, or just keep checking back. Meanwhile, AAdvantage's value has dropped faster than my trust in this platform, especially since the transition to Rocket. Once a decent program, now a shadow of its former self.

The best part? Although the frequency of my use has dropped dramatically since that transition, and while I will continue to use it on the occasion that the value of miles offered justifies the additional cost for a booking, it seems apparent that the frequency of those occasions is diminishing. It’s a great way to feel like you're being taken for a ride, but with fewer miles to show for it.

Rating: 1/5 – If you enjoy the thrill of watching your miles disappear, this is the program for you.

Do not book through AAdvantage

Do not book through AAdvantage! Always book through the official hotel website. I found my hotel through AAdvantage and paid the full amount, however, AAdvantage uses Agoda as their booking partner and either one of them haven’t sent the full amount to the hotel and it ended up screwing up my reservation! Hence, I was charged $203 to cover up the amount which I was told will be reimbursed .One month later, I am still on call with the hotel and AAdvantage to get my money back because they keep requesting an official bank statement showing the charge. My bank statement hasn’t closed yet and they would not accept a screenshot of the transaction, neither do they accept the hotels official receipt!!! Will never be their customer again!!

Worst reservation experience ever

Worst prepaid reservation experience ever. Don't be fooled by the assumption thar you can trust them because they are part of American Airlines unless you want to learn the hard way like I did. While your confirmation says American, the reservation booking is outsourced and the agency has zero customer service when they've failed to do your prepaid reservation correctly. I was stranded out of state and ended up paying double the cost just to have a place to sleep. American should be ashamed of the way its customers are treated by its 3rd party vendors. Also, shame on American for failing to disclose to its customers that we are not dealing with a reputable vendor. All efforts to get refunded have failed. If you take a chance and use them, do not prepay.

Awful Experience and I am an EP member

I planned a great vacation and booked AAdvantage hotel through the AA.com website months ago. 10 days before my travel I called the Hilton hotel and they did not even have any reservation. They ruined our vacation; they could not confirm our booking and the booking was listed as non-cancellable. Spent hours on the phone. This website seems to drop the ball on some bookings makes AA look really bad. At the very least make sure to call the hotel and check that your booking has indeed been made since you might find (like me) that there is no booking made due to some glitch or some long list of excuses that were made to me. Lots of stress !

My experience was absolutely horrible…

My experience was absolutely horrible and I am an Executive Platinum member in the AADVANTAGE program. I booked a hotel with this group. Got to Santiago, Chile, and the hotel did not have my reservation. I called the customer service department in the Philippines. A disaster. Could not help me. So the hotel felt sorry for me and sold me a one night stay. Then the next day, the hotel front desk manager told me they would honor my booking. Then Aadvantage hotels never gave me my mileage points for the booking claiming the hotel canceled the booking and took my money directly for the commission savings. So unprofessional. Do not book hotels through these people, They are terrible, do not help you and do not honor their commitments.
