Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 29 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers encountered significant issues with the booking process, often finding reservations unavailable or experiencing problems with payment, including being charged incorrectly or having bookings not go through. The customer service is frequently described as horrible, with people struggling to get assistance, receiving no responses to emails, or dealing with unhelpful representatives. Reviewers also report major problems with the service itself, such as hotels not having records of bookings, being double-charged, or not receiving promised points. Furthermore, obtaining a refund is a common source of frustration, with many finding it difficult to get their money back for cancelled or incorrect reservations.

No cutomer service. No vetting of properties.

I arrived at the hotel and immediately noticed that the toilet didn't flush. Reported it, went out, and came back to a note indicating that they had made a temporary repair. Well I got two flushes out of it before it broke again. Air conditioning was also out. I reported it to Aadvantage Hotesl/Rocket Travel immediately and they got back four days later with nothing more than an apology.

Avoid. And skip the whole Aadvantage program.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam — never book with them.

My situation: American Airlines canceled my flight to the city where I had booked a hotel for later that day. As soon as I got notice, I canceled the hotel reservation and provided the flight cancellation notice. I received a confirmation that my reservation was canceled with the note that they would “request” a refund.

A week passed and I heard nothing. I then called them. I waited on the phone while a customer service rep called the actual hotel. They disconnected me while on hold. Eventually they called me back and told me that the hotel had denied the refund request. That same day I called the hotel myself. They asked me to provide proof of the canceled flight and reservation, which I did. They told me that they were happy to refund the booking and that I should see the credit in 1-2 days.

I called AAdvantage back to tell them, since they were now an obstacle standing between me and my refund. They put me on the phone with a ‘supervisor’ who did not listen to what I was saying but only wanted to run me through a script about how all they could do was request a refund. I told her that the hotel had agreed to a refund, that I would appreciate it if she would process that when it came through in 1-2 days, and that if she didn’t I would dispute the charge with my credit card as a service I never received.

A week later I received another message from AAdvantage with the same language about the request for a refund being denied. My best guess is that this company just serves to act as a ‘buffer’ in cases like this between consumers and the actual service providers. They are betting that the frustration and extra hassle will be enough for most consumers to walk away. Do yourself a favor: stay away before you find yourself in that situation.

My husband and I took our son for his graduation from college to Italy
We thought that American Airlines advantage hotels from Rocket would be most reputable!
Completely opposite
Horrible customer service on their site
Dishonest reviews and stars for hotels
Up charges for the same hotels on other sites
Terrible condition rooms
Awful views in Venice we payed $600 for the night and had views to a wall outside our room
Also, American Airlines Barclays card does not care
If you you dispute they tell you to deal with hotel
Please don’t use these services if you would like to travel in Europe

they don't translate from Japanese very well so when you book hotels in Japan on AA hotels you're not necessarily going to get what you booked and then you'll just get an AI person telling you we're sorry. They really need to correct this

Booked a total false advertising scam

Booked a total false advertising scam. Every call to customer service goes to off-shore rep who helps Zero. They will not refund and will not transfer to a supervisor or anyone in the US. DO NOT USE AAdvantage Hotels. Horrible experience. I’m out over $300 For 2 rooms booked at a hotel that does not even appear on Google Maps.

The worst hotel booking service i've encountered

horrible company. they advertise 24/7 customer service coverage for urgent issues. two full days later their service team hasn't addressed the urgent issue i reported monday night. a sequence of failures by their system and multiple reps over email and phone resulted in me stuck at 2am without a hotel despite engaging them around 10pm. All offshore people with no apparent ability to address issues and who are freely making up stories about the reasons why problems are occurring and promising escalations and responses that never happen. Maybe one of these days the manager escalation that was promised will happen and my issue will be addressed. not that it will be any help at this point.

Bad. Human trafficking

Absolutely agree with other reviewers here. These people are a scam - is it "Aadvantage" or "Rocket" whatever, they don't know who they represent -- not a professional organization and you should not ever pay money or trust them whatsoever. The people on the other end of the line sound like they may be human trafficked. They cannot speak English other than parroted customer service jargon. Very very bad. My money spent with AAdvantage / Rocket or whoever it is - it is gone.

They failed to confirm with the hotel, I had to sleep in my car

I Booked a hotel online using aavantage hotels, got a confirmation email and day-of follow up email. I went to check in and the hotel didn’t have my reservation. Aavantage confirmed they failed to secure my reservation and I was told the hotel was booked full. They attempted to book me at another hotel, which took them several hours to do and they called me back to tell me it was ‘too late’ to book another hotel. I had the luxury of sleeping in my car. They offered to issue a refund however It’s been two days and still have no refund nor any confirmation a refund will be issued. I will not be using this service again.

Horrible experience.

Horrible experience.. booked a reservation 2 months in advance. Information provided by advantage was inaccurate, address incorrect, no contact number provided. On the phone 45 mins with them trying to get contact number, in process of talking to owner of condo to get directions advantage canceled the reservation leaving me and owner holding our own. Advantage refused to fix the issue, and had to cut my hawiian vacation short because of this. DO NOT CALL FOR HELP. I feel that being a executive platinum member has no sway with them, they treated me like its not there problem.

Scam

An embarrassingly bad service. I needed aavantage points so I used this service more than a dozen times and never once had a smooth interaction. From double charges to booking at the hotel under the wrong name to no booking at the hotels at all. On top of this their system will have errors and then they will refuse to refund you or muscharge you and refuse to correct the error. If you call the support number expect to be on the phone for over an hour and get yelled at. This system is an embarrassment to AA and

A rating of zero best suits. Fraudsters who will happily take your money but not refund it

If there was a rating of zero that would be most appropriate. Booked a two night stay and paid it full in advance. Turned up to the hotel to find that they did not have my booking. Managed to get AAdvantage hotels to admit they messed up. They promised a refund and a month on I still haven’t had one. They are just choosing to ignore me. Great operation of fraudsters it must be said. Incompetent thieves!

Do not EVER book with them

Do not EVER book with them, this is a terrible agency. I cancelled my reservation prior to arrival date due to a death in my family member, they didn’t convey it to the hotel partner agency but simply tell their partner agency change of travel plan. My booking is non-refundable so partner agency has every right to deny refund. I asked for the email or message proof they cannot provide but rather said they made a phone call!!!! Who made phone calls for hotel booking these days?!!!! Clearly a lie. They don’t book directly with hotels but use partner agency and cannot tell them who they are… clearly use a ghost agency as an excuse when they try to rid you off.

I made several phone calls and each time they kept arguing with me and never give me the proof that they inform funeral reason for cancellation and now they said I didn’t tell them the funeral reason when I cancel and want me to prove to them?! I did this on their website so lesson learned do screen captures when cancel with a reason.

Please do not EVER use them!!!!!!!

Do not book with them

Do not book with them. They cancel reservations with the hotels without telling you, while at the same time keeping the reservation on your list of reservations.

Of course, this is not intentional by them. However, their databases don't seem to update (they are connected to booking.com somehow). In my case I see an active reservation but the hotel sees a canceled reservation.

Und they don't respond to urgent messages despite promising to do so on their website.
