Great prices, services, and techs

We've purchased several applicances over the years (W/D, Fridge, D/W, and Oven). The delivery teams and installations have always been top notch. Our oldest purchase from them, a W/D (Maytag) starting going crazy during spin cycle after 8 years. I was about to my best Youtube service tech impression, but we decided to give ABT a try first. Well, glad we did because my DIY journey would've taken us down a completely different rabbit hole. At any rate, tech was friendly and very knowledgeable. We will continue doing our appliance shopping with them.

DONT GET AN EXTENDED WARRANY WITH ABT…

DONT GET AN EXTENDED WARRANY WITH ABT GO WITH THE NAME BRAND YOU PURCHASED. THEY CAME OUT TROUBLE SHOOTED THE PROBLEM AND HAD TO ORDER THE PARTS IF IT WAS GE THEY WOULD HAVE THE PARTS ON THEIR TRUCK. WE ARE SENOIRS AND WAITED OVER 10 DAYS TO GET OUR DRYER REPAIRED BUT THE PARTS WERE IN DAYS BEFORE OUR APPOINTMENT. TO OLD TO GO TO A LAUNDRY MAT. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE THEY NEED TO HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. WAS SUPPOSE TO GET A CALL FROM A MANAGER BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED. SO THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU MAKE A DECISION ON YOUR EXTENDED WARRANT! I LEARNED THE HARD WAY NEVER AGAIN

And as far as parts go, our service vehicles carry over 800 of the most commonly needed parts. In addition, our warehouse stocks more than 20,000 of the most commonly needed parts. Most of our service work is completed the same day of the service appointment. It sounds like whatever you needed had to be ordered which caused a delay.

Company not recommended

So, my wall heater/ac went out in Feb. Got a brand new unit and when they come to install it, they said that the plug on unit wasn't same plug as wall plug and they couldn't install it and had to reschedule the installation because they didn't have the part. Mind you this is Feb in Northen Illinois. So had to wait another week for them to come back. So I get the unit installed the next week and there is a duct adapter that goes on top of the unit to circulate heat/air into other rooms. The one from the other unit didn't fit on new unit and this is were it gets fun. So ordered the correct vent, took a little over a week. Come out and they ordered the wrong part. OK just a mistake. So they leave the box in my living room saying they didn't have a ticket to return it. They ordered the "right" part. Another week passes and they come and the tech who shows up says he only dileveries and don't install anything. ABT knew that this piece needed to be installed and didn't send an installer. So had to reschedule for another week. They come out a week later and where at house for 30 min and talked to me saying that they couldn't mount it and they needed to send out a fabricator. So another week passes and they come out again. Were here for just over an hr and talked to me again saying I would need a custom vent to fit the venting system. So had to reschedule and order the correct part again. So part comes in about 2 weeks later and scheduled an install for after 12 on a Sat so I didn't have to take off work again. They call me at 9am saying they are 10 min away from my residence. Good thing I wasn't at work at the time. Asked them how long it was going to take to install and tech said I am only dropping the part off not installing because that is not his job. No it is the end of March and still have a box laying in my living room because they can't get anything right. Called customer service to get a tech out after the delivery of latest vent and they couldn't even get a hold of there installation manager. So sitting here waiting for a call and will probably have to reschedule for another week yet again. I would not recommend using this company. Very high ineptitude and no organization from top to bottom. Can't justify going to somebody's property 8 times for samething acceptable.

Simple return

I bought a tablet and it wouldn't link to my cellular account. There was no way to put in a SIM or ESIM card! Although it was a pain for me to figure this out, I sent an email to Abt and they quickly sent me a return address label and made that part of it quick and painless. I had it boxed and shipped within the hour.

Price match & Customer service second to none

Eva D in the online chat was super helpful. They are not kidding when they say they will price match. She price matched and found an additional rebate I was not aware of. She put my order through and it ended up being cheaper than the price I was trying to match. Excellent customer service.

Make installers confirm cord location before drilling hole in your kitchen cabinet

Since my post, Abt reached out to me to discuss my rating. Surprisingly, they're refunding the installation cost 100%.

Thank you Jeanie Boom and Abt. I always knew you are the leader in appliances with the best delivery platform. But I didn't know you really took customer service seriously.

After our conversation, you rectified and exceeded my expectations. And the good news is that you're implementing best practices for the delivery crew/installers to discuss any drilling efforts before the work is complete. "YaY!

I've order appliances from Abt several times and really love their delivery and installation service. But my recent microwave installation service gets 1 star because the installers drilled a hole in the center floor of one of my brand new cabinets.

What does this mean? It means I can no longer lay items completely flat because the appliance cord is permanently in the way. This means I've lost precious cabinet real estate. On top of this, there already was an empty hole in/on the back of the cabinet wall that the installers could have repurposed and ran the cord through. But did they? NO!

When I asked the installers questions about the possibility of nails showing through the cabinet floor, they assured me they wouldn't show, but they never mentioned they were going to drill a hole, especially a hole in the center of the cabinet floor.

After they left, I kept trying to lay my items flat and wondered why they wouldn't fit in as before. (My cabinets are a bit higher from the stove and requires a step stool to fully see inside the cabinet floor.) Then I realized what they had done.

I immediately called Abt customer service/resolution. The installers told customer service that they "just followed the appliance manual instructions", which said/read to drill a hole. Customer service said the installers should have told me they were going to drill another hole vs using the current one and where the hole would be located. She also said they should have at least considered putting the hole in the corner of the cabinet instead of in the center of it. They should have gotten my approval. But did they? NO!

To "resolve" their screw up, customer service offered a $50 refund. I unwillingly accepted it but what a joke! Installation cost me $150. In addition to losing some precious storage space, I paid $150 for "expert installers". I'm still pissed!

So, before an Abt appliance installer starts drilling in your cabinets, make them confirm the location for your approval first, or so they can suggest other options.

Damaged $1000 microwave from ABT

I ordered a $1000 microwave from ABT. My communications with sales person were delayed and my shipment took longer than promised. The unit finally arrived and it is dented. I took pictures and contacted ABT. They refused to ship a new unit to me until the old one arrives. So I have wait weeks for a replacement unit that arrived late and damaged despite me having location and time stamped pictures. They said 'it is too risky for us to ship a new unit to you without having the old one'. Meaning I will not send the damaged one back. HOWEVER, they are fine with me buying two, $1000 microwaves from them in the hopes that they will refund one of them.
Amazon has customer service figured out. Maybe call them and learn a few things.

I was contacted by ABT after my online reviews posted. They shipped a new unit as soon as the damaged one was picked up and scanned in by UPS. It was delivered intact.

CROOKS!

Ordered several components to upgrade my vehicle’s sound system - over $800.00 worth. ABT shipped and UPS lost the package. As I watch shipping for these items closely, I contact ABT to let them know that the package was missing (from my prior experience, likely stolen), and sure enough later that day I got an alert that ABT had filed a claim. To my surprise though, they only included 1 item from the order on the claims form; and I was told I would have to wait another 7-10 business days for UPS to get back with them. Only once they heard back from UPS, and/or received the items back (whichever was sooner I assume), they would then process the refund of my payment which would take an additional 5-7 business days.

I explained to them that though I realized it was UPS's error, that was not an acceptable option as I already had an appointment scheduled for the install and requested to cancel the order for a refund as they would not get here on time if the package was not found in the next 24 hours. I told them logically I didn't understand as they are taking no risks as the package, if found, was already directed return to sender. I was again told tough luck as those were their policies. So asked if they would ship me a replacement shipment as it may still arrive on time, and nope, that would be too much to ask unless I created and paid for a new order to replace this one. Because what kind of dumb*ss is going to pay you double for zero products! Seriously?

So, I then explained to them I would give UPS the 24 hours to try to locate the package and if not found by then (PER UPS- the additional 7-9 days are a "just in case" the package magically shows up somewhere) I would be filing a dispute with my credit card company as they have zero risk as they had already informed UPS to return the package to sender if/when found. It is absolutely ludicrous that I would have to wait for 14+ days for a refund for items I never received, had zero control of shipping issues, and that was labeled return to sender. As I said, I was willing to give it 24 hours in case the package by some miracle was located and would be delivered to me in the next couple of days - but they treated me like I was the one ripping them off! Are you kidding me!?

Here's the topper... the package was actually found a few hours later and would have been delivered to me the following day, but instead is now on its way back to ABT. They STILL REFUSE to refund me even with UPS closing the claim. I am now having to open a dispute with my credit card company to stop/refund payment, even though these thieves know it's on its way back per UPS. ABT has ZERO concerns/service for their customers and are straight up crooks!

The package still has not been located we just asked that the package be returned if it is located​ due to you filing a dispute with PayPal.​ We have reached out to you about the situation but have been unable to speak to you.
Final message- to call us crooks is ridiculous. We wouldn’t be in business for over 87 years if we were crooks. We wouldn’t have won all the awards for ethics and customer service. And we wouldn’t have thousands of positive reviews you see on the sites you posted this review on. Return theft is a major issue in the US.

Satisfied Customer

My sister told me about ABT electronics. This was my first time purchasing anything from them. I purchased a washer and dryer. I have to say that the entire process from purchase to delivery was easy and pleasant. The sales person in the store who assisted us with choosing the appliances was friendly, helpful and efficient. I received both email and text communication about my delivery. I received the call from the drivers as stated in the text and email I received the prior week and after completing my purchase. (I chose an early Monday morning delivery). They arrived on time. They were very professional nice guys. The delivery was quick and efficient. I am pleased with the entire process from purchase to delivery.

Delivery was superb

Delivery was superb! We were notified days in advance of the 3-hour window via email and text message. The dispatcher called us the morning of the delivery to confirm everything was good to go at the planned time/window. Delivery driver called us when they were 10-15 minutes from arrival, EXACTLY in the middle of DELIVERY Window. The two delivery staff members were professional and courteous as they removed the old range and installed the new one, AND were especially infomative about our first use of the oven and cleaning the range stovetop. Well done!! ABT Appliances has been for decades and will continue to be our preferred source for service and purchase of appliances.

Great Delivery and Set up of new refrigerator

John and Trinidad were courteous to me and respectful of my home. They were careful to wear boots over their shoes and not damage my home (walls) when moving the old refrigerator and the new one. They put the new refrigerator together including adding left hinge and cleaned up all packaging. They were responsive to my questions! Great experience!! Called before early delivery due to cancellation.

Can always rely on Abt

The delivery team from Abt was courteous, professional, and provided lots of information about our new appliances while on site to ensure we had no further questions. We are on the third floor of a building with no elevator, so it was NOT an easy delivery getting appliances up and down the stairs - but all went smoothly. Love this company and will shop here again!

Worst buying experience

Worst buying experience. Buyer beware take your business elsewhere. Every single step of the way nothing but problems. During the sale, I was told Abt does not price match, then another employee told me yes but depends. Then another employee said my quote from a competitor was too good & they could not help me. I was also told only 1 year of 0% financing on 4 kitchen appliances. Another employee said yes we price match but not fully. Finally I found someone who said yes Abt price matches & offers 2 years 0% financing. A day after my purchase, I was sent many emails with different delivery dates. Then 1 week after my purchase 2 days before expected delivery, I was referred to by the wrong name. Funny as to how every step of the sale they got my name right in emails, texts & phone calls but now can’t remember my name. The day of my delivery 3 out of 4 appliances were first delivered to the wrong house. Abt wanted to reschedule bc they said I wasn’t home. All the while I was standing at my front door waiting, trying to call Abt to figure out where they were & when they would arrive at my house. The delivery men unboxed my range in the street. I noticed it was the completely wrong range- I ordered gas & was delivered electric. My sales slip shows gas they insisted it was electric & told me I had to call to fix the issue. I called never got any apologies for either wrong house nor wrong item. CS rep wanted to deliver another electric range despite me saying many times it’s a gas range as on my sales slip. No rush delivery on this, a one week wait. I do not have my fridge & have not been given an eta of when it will arrive. Go give your hard earned money to one of the big box stores instead.
