I required a short term flat rental to give me an opportunity to look at purchasing a house in Edinburgh. I found the process of organising and paying for my rental smooth & efficient. The flat itself was ideal and had everything I required. The instruction for entrance and exit precise & clear and when the TV did not work it was repaired quickly by the maintenance team.

I used Aberdein Considine to sell my flat and am in the process of buying my new house with them, and they’ve been fantastic: friendly, cheerful, responsive and super-efficient. They’ve been especially good at sorting out one or two odd, unexpected little issues that cropped up here and there. From viewings to completion they’ve been excellent, and I can recommend them without hesitation.

We instructed AC to handle the sale and purchase of our new build property. We were impressed with our solicitor, Valtemes Santos. He was on the whole very responsive and went through any detailed questions my wife and I had in a very thorough manner. He displayed high levels of professionalism in what were at times tricky aspects of the transaction. We owe him a big thank you for his hard work, dedication and consummate professionalism. Selling our flat has been a smooth experience with Aberdein Considine. We used them to purchase it in 2019 and because of the positive experience then, chose to use them to market our flat. We had an offer accepted on the property within a couple of weeks of going onto the market. Jordan, Becky and the team were great in keeping in contact with us. Would highly recommend!

Selling my flat was a quick and easy process

I had used Aberdeen Considine (Edinburgh) a number of years ago for sale and purchase services and had an excellent experience. I had no hesitation in instructing AC again recently for the same service. The service was excellent - very responsive, clear and professional - the whole team were excellent in piecing together the many and various aspects. I was really pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend the AC team in Edinburgh.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with them- in June I requested my partners name to be removed from the property. We are in February 2023 and it still ongoing. I have called them dozens of times and have emailed them weekly… they are quick to ask you to pay however the services are extremely slow and customer service not good. I have another pending matter with them, I am waiting for this to be resolved however just the thought of having to chase them for this other thing makes me want to drop it!!! It really isn’t good enough. Truly suggest you go to another solicitor if you can. I know I will….

From the initial contact for a valuation through to the marketing and sale of my house, the service from Aberdein Considine has been excellent. Finlay, Dawn and Alana were so supportive taking the stress away from the process, and their confidence was reassuring. Alana’s knowledge and advice on the current market was particularly helpful and she negotiated a great deal for me. Hoping my new purchase will be as smooth!!

Superb service from everyone at the Edinburgh team in selling our flat. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Everything was done over the phone or by email so no need to take time off to drive to their offices.The housing market is up and down at the moment but the team were always on hand and ready with sensible advice about what to do. In the end we got a good offer over the valuation price (again thanks to the team’s negotiating skills) so we very glad we went with the team at Aberdein Considine!

The team in Edinburgh were very supportive and responsive throughout. Kirsty communicated regularly and the level of information and advice she provided was top level.

The conveyancing team were incredibly slick in all that they did. Paul pulled out all the stops to make sure we were kept abreast of what was happening and addressed any questions we had very quickly. He met all his commitments and when the sale went through it was great to get that confirmation call.

Over a 3 month period in 2022 I required extensive legal support from the Conveyancing, Wills and Trusts, and Family departments of Aberdein Considine, in each case they performed urgently and to the highest professional standards. I am very grateful to all of their excellent team.

After many years of relying on Russell & Aitken I was rather disconcerted to learn that the business had amalgamated with the larger Aberdein Considine.
I was somewhat relieved to learn however that there was continuity by way of Dianne Paterson, Lynda Gibb and Liz Banks, on reception.
Our property sale was handled seamlessly by the former familiars in the manner had come to expect from past experiences with R. & A.

Barclays used Ra Direct, a subsidiary of AC, as conveyancing solicitors for a remortgage of my property. After a letter from them in early October, I responded with all the required documents within 2 days. After this point I hear absolutely nothing, and each time I followed up I was given different information. Firstly I was told they were waiting to receive a redemption statement from my previous provider before completing. When I called a week later for an update, I was told that they were still to request the redemption statement but would now escalate! After all of this, a completion date was stated for 1st of December, with a number of documents sent to us late on that date. I followed up several days later to chase funds that I require for my house purchase and was told "Barclays didn't have sufficient notice to complete, so this has been rescheduled for the 9th". I now have zero faith that this will happen, and my house purchase is being held up by these delays. I'm also having to now pay standard variable rates on my previous mortgage which have increased my payments by 50%! I'll be contacting Barclays to raise a formal complaint: apparently a number of banks have already taken AC off their preferred suppliers list.
