Stay Away or be Ready for a Painful Headache

Reservation # AEXP06CCBE Atlanta Airport. I was supposed to pick up a car on 3/19 the location had no reserved car. The service lady asked me to wait for 2-3hrs to get the car which I declined. I asked for cancellation and went across to Alamo where I managed to get a car in 15minutes. To my surprise, I was charged a $50 no-show fee on my credit card. Mistakes happen but this is unacceptable and customer service reps on the 1-800 line can be unbelievably rude. Please refund my account and do not treat customers like this - life is already stressful anyway.

I rented a car with Priceline for…

I rented a car with Priceline for $372.57. But I was charged $524.88. I asked the clerk if toll roads were included or if I need to pay as I went. I was told "IT WAS INCLUDED!" "Use as many as I wanted". I only used a toll road a few times. When I got my a email receipt, I was charged $524.88. I called, The phone service said it was not included. I had to pay $15.00 PER DAY! They added more fee: concession fee $42.91, vehicle license fee $45.00. CFC 45.90 ?, Florida Surcharge $18.00, Tire Battery fee 18. Beware hidden fees. Not happy will not use again

Deceptive practices

Deceptive practices, bait n switch policies. It clearly states on Kayaks website site "You'll only pay if you arrive for your reservation."

Now I receive a $50 charge due to me not cancelling my reservation within 24 hours. Of course, they have a separate policy in their terms and conditions, but why wouldnt they include that in the SRP page right under the "You'll only pay if you arrive for your reservation" comment? This is clearly deceptive

Crooks

Crooks ! I rent cars all the time. Purchased on Orbtitz for 105. Bill charged to my card 234. I refused all insurance options. I was told the best option was a deal where they refill. I should have known better. My fault.
When I got my bill of 234 was told I accepted all insurance options. They give you a bunch of small computer screens that read like you are confirming what you reviewed with your agent only to find out later that you are actually confirming all the added fees that a minute earlier you declined with the agent. Very dishonest. Also charged a concession fee of 20 on top of all the taxes Customer service no help. Stay away from this company.

Just one week ago....Rented a Car from…

Just one week ago....Rented a Car from Advantage Car Rental MCO.. I used them in the past no problems.. This is will BE THE LAST!! Got a upgrade to a better car. I DID the walk through and noticed Dirty Seats (all round) burnt mark on the back seat. Outside the fender pushed out on the corners ,But made no complaints to this.(But made it know and took photo's)... Started the Business trip (6 1/2 hour) ...... about halfway through notice the car running a little rough (shaking ) ..AS I was driving on the Highway (heard a bang) then something hitting the back passenger wheel well .. Pulled over to notice a tire blowout?? Called Advantage sent me over to Roadside service...Explained the issue and told me it could take up to 60 minutes for tow truck to change out the tire...OK.....I went to ask about where to get the tire replaced after the spare was put on.... Was told any Pep Boys OR Firestone would replace with no problem (Countrywide account)....Then got in touch with a Firestone Place in the direction of my trip ..Called and confirmed that they had the tire. I continue on and arrived at the Firestone location ... I had asked Anthony (Manager) to double check all THE TIRES to be sure they are good....Was told 3 TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED..... Just got the car hours before ....shows that the car never got checked out first of all.... Took over 1 hour plus to get through to Advantage (Customer service) ..back and forth conversations ....run around asking if roadside service was needed (Saying NO multiple times).....service manager was just TRYING to get Authorization get tire done..(To find out there was no type of coverage/Account with Advantage and Firestone!!) SO finally got a through to the Advantage /MCO manager (Through roadside service). Left a message ...GOT a call right back..... Stated my frustration to him on both there Roadside service and no phone info to MCO location.. WELL the manager( from ADVANTAGE) used HIS OWN CREDIT CARD to pay for 3 tires...and proceeded to give his info to ANTHONY (Firestone manager) to get this matter taking care of.. ARE you kidding me....I was 4 hours late to my destination/business trip .... I never complain on any site about anything.....BUT wanted to let others know .....that I would never recommend this Company (Advantage Car rental) to no one,,,, As I see , I'm not the only one with on going issue's with them....I will do my business else where ..

My experience purchasing a car with advantage finance and Midlands Motors
I writing to you in connection with a car I bought a purchased a 2006 Mercedes C160 Sport which was purchased through advantage, they recommended a car dealership midlandsmotorsltd as a repeatable company and in this case, it has not happened to me.

Which I told Advantage and sent them many emails, phone calls etc and they fobbed me off and telling me to go back to the garage.

I rang the garage they told me to go back to the finance company is this a good service.

I was sent a letter recently telling me I paid still owe money for a car, I don't have which they sold for some stupid cheap price at auction and my stuff in the car went missing out of the car.

Also, I check to sell me a car which was not worth that money, and the value of it would not drop to the level it did within a year really!

I have come out of the deal the worse with no car, I should be happy with a car sitting outside, they didn't even offer me a new car, compensation, or Apologies just took my money and ran.

I went to a few garages and they said that this was an old car with wear and tear and would have broken down eventually, that's probably why they sold it to me but under a year come on let's be honest.

I took it to the Financial Obusmunen services and experience, also the emotional stress they have put on my and in danger and it affected my earnings and my credibility.

I spoke to a gentle called Darren Young at Obusmunen and he said he disagrees with me even though the evidence proofed I was right, then offered me to appeal so he could pass it on to his friend that he works with really like they are gone be honest.

This has shown me the type of company they are, I refuse to do business with them again how would you feel if you were treated this way or one of your family members!

My personal experience, I think it was a disgusting service and would never use them again because of my experience they might be nice to you but for me no.

I would rather have honest and safe people in my life, so be careful everyone.

Due to c/19 . My trip was canceled. Airlines canceled my fight. I have called and emailed Advantage 10 xs. They have not responded at all. They are keeping my money. World is in chaos. This company does not care about the people of the world and what we are going threw... SO SAD

ALL AROUND TERRIBLE!

I arrived 15 mins early. I was asked if I wanted to upgrade my car, pay for their gas, or wanted their insurance, I said no. I was then told nothing about any policies, late fees, gas fees, etc. Fuji (the attendant) then asked for my payment and told me to go sit and wait for 30 minutes because no standard cars were ready. I waited for exactly 30 minutes (keep in mind no one else was sitting waiting for a car) then went back to the counter and asked if my car was ready. They said "um what was your name?" I told them, they said well actually we will just upgrade your car for free! I was excited until they told me it would be a minivan. I had already told them I was traveling alone, so I clearly did not need a bigger car. It was also one of the worst rental cars I've ever had for gas mileage. So on top of not getting the car I signed up for, get an "upgrade" that I didn't want they also apparently didn't actually check me in earlier so I had to go over all of my information again with them. I was so frustrated as I walked to the garage to get my car!
Once in the garage a woman that checked in after me was getting into a Passat. I asked the attendant why I did not get that car, since she checked in after me? They of course had no idea and stared at me with blank looks. I then asked if I could have something besides a van, she started at me and told me to wait a minute. I told her to forget I was done waiting! She handed me keys and told me to go to spot # 18. No one walked me to my car, showed me around, or even looked at the car with me for the damage on it.

Then when I was returning the car I pulled up & parked the car. The attendant that was there was walking around talking on his phone, didn't even acknowledge me. So I finally asked if I needed to do anything and he said "nah your good to go" and turned around. I asked for a receipt and he told me to go to the desk.

I will NEVER use this company again! All around it was a terrible experience just to save me $30. I'll be sticking with Fox from now on.

Beware of this company

Beware of this company. Worst car rental experience of my life. Arrived at Honolulu at 11:30pm, half hour late due to flight delay. They close at 11:30pm, but staff had left already. With 3 kids and grandparents, was forced to rent a car for the night from next counter at high price (all of which were still open by the way). Returned the other car next morning and pick up the already paid car from Advantage and ask for compensation for the night before's rental. Denied any responsibility and says i need to contact Priceline since I paid through them. The website booking requests for your flight number, so you would expect their staff to check if there were anymore bookings that night and check the status of those flights. To add to this, they gave me a booster seat instead of a child seat which I paid for.

DO NOT RENT FROM ADVANTAGE or EZ RENT-A-CAR

I rented a vehicle from Advantage (the parent company of EZ Rent-a-Car) for the week of February 15 to the 23rd to be picked up at MCO. I was arriving at 12:30 AM on the 15th so I made sure to call ahead to make sure I'd be able to get the vehicle at that time. They assured me they were open 24 hours and someone would be manning the counter. When I arrived there was no one at the counter; just a sign instructing to call them. I did and they informed me that no cars were available and I should get a taxi that they would reimburse me my cab fair for when I returned the following day. I was headed to Melbourne and was not returning to the airport until the 23rd (which is why I rented a car). I tried to get to compensate me for a car through another agency but they refused so I took a taxi to my destination as they instructed - it cost $186. Later in the morning I called to verify they would reimburse me for a cab ride back to Orlando, but everyone I reached said I needed to actually go there and speak with the manager and that they could not cancel and refund my reservation - they also indicated no vehicles were available that day either. I tried to reach the Advantage desk directly through MCO's switchboard but got no response. I needed to continue with my trip and couldn't waste any more time with them so I rented from elsewhere in Melbourne. When I returned on the 23rd for my flight home I attempted in vain to try and get reimbursement for my cab fair, but they indicated that since I rented from another company the offer no longer stood (apparently forgetting that I was forced to rent elsewhere since they had not car for me). I cannot emphasize enough that their seemingly good deals are cheap for a reason. I'd say that their service is horrible, but that would imply they actually provided any. I tried to rate with zero stars, but evidently that's not a viable entry.

I will never rent from Advantage again

I will never rent from Advantage rent a car again. I got in my rental and I was driving off of the Lot and I saw that the tire pressure light was on. I told the person working the booth this and he ensured me it would reset once I drove it a few miles. My hotel was over an hour away from the airport in Maui. When I got to my hotel the tire was completely flat with no spare tires to change it with. I called advantage and asked if they could bring me a different car or at least come out and repair the tire. They asked me to drive it back to the airport to switch it out. I explained that the airport was over an hour away and I couldn’t get there safely because the tire wasn’t holding air. They then told me that if I wanted to pay for a tow truck I could. This was obviously infuriating to think they that thought I should absorb the cost even though I pointed out the issue while on their lot. This issue was theirs and they should correct it for paying customers. I told them that suggestion would not work. They then told me that was I was asking for would need to be approved by a manager and he would call me back. A few hours went by and no callback. I called again. They let me know they had left voicemails and sent emails to the manager but couldn’t get a hold of him. No one ever called... days went by. I kept calling back to check in but no one could seem to track down the manager. Eventually the trip ended. I ended up paying for Ubers my entire trip. When it came time to take my car back to the airport I informed my lawyer that I would be driving an unsafe vehicle back to the airport from my hotel (over an hour drive) and asked my lawyer to make sure that if anything happened to my family to be sure and press charges against advantage for knowingly putting me in harms way and causing catastrophe. I had to fill the tire up with air multiple times on my way back to the airport, again an additional cost and time. When I got to the airport the only thing advantage offered me was to refund me $75 for my prepaid fuel. That was it. I have spent hours on the phone with them and have finally given up. They should have refunded my entire rental since I was not able to use the vehicle my entire trip and instead incurred the cost of ubers and air for tires. The back doors on the vehicle were also broken they didn’t automatically lock on the vehicle. Very glad I didn’t leave any golf clubs in the vehicle... they could have easily been stolen. Every time I call advantage there just isn’t any more that they can do. They offer no service, no one at the company seems to have any authority to make a decision. They rent unsafe vehicles. They offer no service and will never call you back. I am disgusted with this company. Companies like this should go out of business which honestly after looking at their negative reviews I am sure they eventually will. If I could give any advice rent from Hertz, Enterprise, Sixt but do not rent from Advantage ... the company where no one cares and you will end up paying twice as much due to the need for ubers.

Don’t

Rented a car for a short trip I was taking with my girlfriend. Arrived at the rental car facility to a moderate line. No big deal I thought, until I realized that advantage only had 1-2 employees working at a time. After an hour wait of not moving one of the employees came to tell us that they were overbooked and that they were only able to do one customer at a time because of lack of cars. I try and call there office to cancel my order while in line, was told that I could “write an email detailing what’s going on” to a manager but there’s no promise for a refund if I leave. End up getting to talk to someone, about 2 hours in, tells me all she has available is a midsized suv and that would be an increase on the pricing of what I ordered. Left no alternatives. I was finally able to cancel my order at this time and Uber around town.

I'd leave zero stars if I could

I'd leave zero stars if I could. We reserved ahead of time through Wisecars. We got to their SLC location and were told that they only had cars available for prepaid and government contracts, so they didn't have a car for us. No apology, no "how can we make this right." Took the shuttle back to the main car rental place by the airport (terrified for our lives, as the shuttle driver was driving in the traffic and snow while talking on his cell phone!) As we were asking around the other companies, they told us that Advantage does this regularly, and that they hadn't even sent out the shuttle for people THE PREVIOUS DAY because they didn't have cars for them. That means they knew about their lack of cars, but did nothing to communicate it to us ahead of time. Due to the last minute nature of us wanting another car from another company, prices were crazy and stock was limited, so we opted to have our friend pick us up and just be at the mercy of friends and family for transportation during our stay. After reading the other reviews, I'm glad we didn't rent from them. STAY AWAY from this company. They couldn't care less about the customer.

Terrible experience with this company

Terrible experience with this company. First of all, the car smelled STRONGLY of cigarette smoke.
Next, the man at the check out gate when I drove away made me very uncomfortable and also failed to check the vehicle for damage. Once I left I called to let them know this happened and I had found a small scratch on the back. The call center rep was not helpful at all. I did end up talking to a supervisor and getting that resolved.
The man at the counter inside was very friendly but as I was checking out he said “don’t fill up the gas before you bring it back.” I tried asking what he meant and he just said “our rates are cheaper for refill.” I ended up using less than a quarter of a tank since I basically just drove from the airport into the city and back. When returned the car, I realized I had been charged $50 for the fuel refill flat rate. The guy just added this onto my bill without ever explaining the charges or telling me what he meant when I explicitly asked. When I called about this, the rep was again very unhelpful and kept telling me that if I signed the paper it was valid. I suppose I should have been more careful in reviewing my paperwork before signing but since I had prepaid for the rental, I didn’t think much of it.
HORRIBLE customer service overall and will definitely never rent with Advantage again. In the end I was charged nearly double of what I originally paid for the rental in extra fees.

Forced me to Purchase Insurance

Advantage Rental Car in Los Angeles/LAX, agent Tiffani, required me to purchase insurance, even though I'm privately insured and told her that I would assume the risk. She told me that it was required to rent the car. I paid for insurance. She lied. It was not required. I could not get it refunded. Never again will I rent from this company with dishonest practices. Spread the word. They're terrible.

We never even got to pick up the car

We never even got to pick up the car. In fairness, our flight got in late (12:30am) and the Advantage location in Raleigh Durham says it closes at midnight. However, there was no phone number listed for the direct location. We ended up getting the direct number from Wisecars, the booking agency, but that number was always busy. We called at 12:30am and it didn’t even ring. Wisecars also emailed them, no response.

Every single other rental car company was still running shuttles, and I believe they all have the policy of monitoring flights in case there are delays and staying open until all guests with reservations have picked up their cars.

Advantage, if your policy is to close even when your customers’ flight is delayed, you need to communicate that very clearly, possibly with a warning for anyone who schedules a pickup at 10pm or later.

And you have to be reachable. Provide the phone number for the desk! And when someone calls it, pick up!
