Shocked by ridiculous cost of this company!!! I recently visited Florida from Ireland and developed a very nasty UTI overnight. I visited advent health to seek help as it was on a list from the hotel. I explained I had an infection and that I would like to see a doctor to hopefully get an antibiotic. (I’ve had them before) I was seen, a sample taken and antibiotic prescribed. Straight forward…aside from the billing. I was horrified to learn the cost was over 1400 dollars!!! Absolutely scandalous for what was essentially a dip test and prescription. I had travel insurance but a pain trying to get sorted. Eventually I paid the excess and my travel insurance said they would sort the rest. I later received an email to say I owed over 1700 dollars!!??? Then one from my travel insurance to say they had settled the bill. Then…and we are now 3 weeks later …I’ve received another bill from them saying I owe over 1700.. This is not justifiable and normal pricing for such medical treatment. I’ve spoken to my medical friends here and it’s a joke!!

Advent Health fired my Ob/Gyn who I have been seeing for years. I need to see him a couple of times a year and fly down to Fla for 2 of these visits. I heard about this from an employee and it was confirmed by the office. Dr. Hankinson is the most understanding and intelligent doctors I have met and I am a nurse. To fire him for educating patients is criminal. Above all do no harm. Does this mean anything. Advent is just in it for the money. They might as well hire robots

This place has no idea what they are doing. The are over burden due to lack of staff. They are constantly holding people in the Emergency room after they are admitted to the hospital. You simply wait until they find you a bed. I waited from 11am-11pm and never was actually admitted. Well they say I was and thus have to pay for a hospital stay even though I never made it to a room. I came in at 5am. At 11pm I walked out. Yes that is 18hrs of waiting. I was given one test. More was ordered but never performed. When asked about getting the ordered test done I was told that department went home for the day. Why was I still there then? No test... no room... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

I went back in to talk with people in charge and was told they would look into it. Surprise surprise nothing was done and now they want me to pay for test ordered, and a hospital stay plus who knows what else. I still haven't received an itemized bill.

If you need emergency help, if possible I urgently request you go somewhere else.

UPDATE June 15th 2025: I have to give them credit for making this right. They have waved ALL expenses for my visit. Original bills were for over $20,000.

The doctor Paul Berger my son saw is the most greedy and incapable one we have run into for more than 20 years. He wasted our time talking about unrelated things like his marriage and his children and his family vacation just to extend our regular new patient appointment to fill in the slot not filled that day to charge us for both slots. And he didn't provide any helpful information for the headache issue we saw him for. And he even made up some false statements about the visits. What's worse is that the company didn't contact me to investigate the issue but just trust the doctor only though I have told them to investigate. The charge $400+ is the highest ever we saw since he charged us all the time he told us his stories instead of actual time on the issue even without exam my son. I told the company multiple times the facts but nobody cares and they just sent me the bill. I hope they will respect the facts I told them so many times and only charge a reasonable amount though we didn't get any result from the visit. Our following visit to a specialist with much better results and real exam only charged us $174 which is common amount from our past experiences too.

Been dealing with AdventHealth for weeks now. Got an email from them asking to speak to me regarding my negative review. Been a week now and still no call to discuss the matter! Goes to show me how AdventHealth only cares about the positive reviews, and don’t want to deal or try to resolve problems with negative comments! Goes to show me how much they really care about their patients!!!

I found the BEST Primary Care doctor ever!! Dr Roxann Rodriguez is at Advent Health in 116 Parsons Park Drive, Brandon, FL 33511. She is very patient, caring, and REAL! She takes her time and truly listens and makes you feel important! She orders tests only when necessary. Dr. Rodriguez's medical assistant, Mel, is Super. What a team!! I am in the right place, FINALLY!!! Thank you 😊

Shitty recruiter, schedule with me an interview but never give me a call. Don’t schedule an interview with me never again. Don’t waste my time.

I recently had surgery at Advent Health. I started experiencing severe side effects of a medication so I called the on call physician. Over 17 hours later I still have not received a call back and the side effect are worsening. If you want physicians who care about your health, look elsewhere.

I arrived at AdventHealth Apopka by ambulance. I explained to the doctor that I had fallen and I think I had broken bones.
The doctor was really rude he examined me as if l was less than any other patient.
They took x-rays and indeed found that I had broken bones in my ankle on the right foot and three toes on the left.
They admitted me into the hospital I was there for three days in excruciating pain. They never once said to me that I may need a cast or that they could provide a cast for me.
After 3 days they sent me home with pain meds and boots for both feet again never mentioned that l would need a cast. Because I had no insurance l believe l received less than adequate care.
This hospital is no better than any other large insurance companies for profit.
The only difference is they just happen to use the name of Christ on the building.
Advent health claims that they treat every patient with dignity and respect.
if you are going to use the name of Christ in your hospital you should at least provide care for the lest of us which is the uninsured.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity even if they don’t have health insurance. I believe Advent health is only in it for the money because if you don’t have insurance you will receive less than adequate care.

I'm not writing about the care I'm writing about adminerstation. This hospital is the worse I don't understand how they exsit.

1. On october 23rd I was supposed to have sugery. it got cancled. because I took monjero within 7 days. but guess what nowhere in the literature did it say not to take certain medicines a week prior to surgury. Anyway I get a call from her schedualing agent who left a message on my Vm the doctor won't reschudule anymore because I cancled three times. Let me say this the first 2 times I canceled was a year ago and that was because of my job. This last time on October 23rd the hospital canceled. During the 1st 2 times I discussed this with them and it was resolved and on oct 23rd the agent was wrong it was the hospital that canceled. But this doctors office was refusing treatment because the agent told the doctor the wrong info.

2. If you want to get pre auth on the phone. They will not pick up. This was a problem because I had a message i had to give them regarding my insurance for my lumbar.

3. Yesterday I get a call stating to call back sechuduling. Guess what it was the wrong number they gave. Finally when I got the right person on the phone tells me I'm not approved for a lumbar mri because they need clinical notes from my Doctor. and they put my date further off ( mind you have #10 pain). I call my insurance company It was apprroved 2 days prior and they gave me the auth number So now I spent my whole morning home for this bull. I got back my time slot but I should not have to go though this.
I cannot use any other hospital but if i could I world. I'm just a small poor man. I'd like to say this hospital needs to be investgated.

Where do i begin ? Er was great and fast, got me a room after i was admitted, nice clean room. Went to the 3rd floor, the staff was kind and professional. My nurses Delonique, Eva, Heather these ladies were awesome awesome awesome, Daphne, Margo were incredible, took care of my every need, Eden kept my room fabolous. Dr Pham was just the best, told me everything and then some, these staff are the best in the business. I went in with heart issues, i have a history of heart issues, throughout my family tree. Ive had 2x triple bypasses, mic drop. The care was incredible, my girl macarena from dietary took such good care of me, made sure i wasnt thirsty or hungry, the food was 5 star. Security man in the elevator was lovely. I could go on and on, i went in there for my heart but suffer from chronic pain in my back and knees, they treated my pain as well, i never slept so well, dr pham sent me home with a 3 day supply of comfort. Ive never been treated so well, i never had anyone care about how much pain i was in, they monitored it, i wasnt over medicated just the right amount to help me relax, dont believe the negative things, nowhere is perfect, everyone isnt an angel but the people i named are. Eva and Delonique n Heather are the best nurses ive ever had, talk to you, make you feel welcomed and comfortable. God bless these folks, god bless them for all they do. Cant forget the cardio team dr Moussa and his two cohorts, sadly i dont remember their , names. The female was breathtaking lol i couldnt even pay attention to what she was saying. Im a old guy lol But they made observations that helped me know i was in good hands. Again big big new york shout out to the 3rd floor you guys rock.

This was a wonderful experience for our family ...during her visit on October 6th 2024...Sunday... People worth mentioning are:
1. Ashleigh (registration representative who assisted in today’s visit)
2. MRI -> Ms. Adriana. She is compassionate, caring, and ensures if the person can do it or not. Have seen many patients like ..my family… She is really understanding of the scenario.
3. Ultrasound -> Ms. Elizabeth (fully dedicate and highly knowledgeable, skilled in this area for more than a decade)

All of them are great folks, worth mentioning- they really care, are highly positive and determined to help who comes for Ultrasound and MRS.....this is a great imaging center. Today’s experience October 6th, 2024.
I should not forget this to give a Thumbs up to them.

Awful service! Stay away! The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! They just steal money from you very unprofessional I'm unable to pay the bill nothing works and person from Cs so rude and unhelpful

Advent Health is extorting money from patients. Even when insured, they will not preform medical procedure's until you prepay an “estimated” bill for the procedure. I haven’t received a dime of what they owe ME. Also, be prepared to be surrounded by huge paintings of “white” Jesus and christian prayers over the intercom’s. Florida “Christian” hypocrisy at its best. I can’t wait to move.

They actually deserve a negative, most incompetent place, the Aprn miss cockerill wrongly diagnosed my husband, wrongly prescribed medication that didn't do anything for him but made him worse, she wasn't thorough. She didn't scrape sores. She just guessed. She needs to be fired for her completely wrong diagnosis. Wrong prescriptions. Wrong everything , yall dealing with people's health

1- I have information that will get advent health in huge trouble. First i have information that some employees change orders so the hospital can benefit by changing orders and other things which is best not to say on here and gives them heads up of what it is. 2- the hospital is double dipping charging the insurance and charging the patient more than what they really need to pay, example: i have an appointment they send me a bill ahead of time saying my part i owe after insurance $198.00 but if you tell them bill me guess what you get charges $17.89 which is what you really owe. now if you pay ahead of time that $198.00, they are not going to refund you the overage at all they keep it and you will never know the bill was really $17.89
so they are taking your money keeping it.
3- they break the law again with this sign an agreement or do not get paid nor pto or anything else and ohhhh no matter you can't talk bad about us or take us to court no matter what. well for an organization that is no profit and cannot make a profit and is Christian they surely do not act like it. more like a group that is all about money and do not care about their employees at all and is only for themselves. they let go about 50 people gave them 3 weeks' notice only, not thinking there is single moms with kids, employees that has sick loved ones have mortgages and bills etc. but do you think they cared? NO not at all. they even hold they pay or do not pay them correctly and peoples credit gets damaged, or mortgage is late many other things, but do they care? NO there is so many other things that i can say but i think i leave it for the investigation. like not paying an employee the correct amount on time, giving employees their severance pay and pto a little at a time instead of just one check
which they have you hostage for a few months because they won't give it all at once. WOW there is a LOT more and cannot wait for all this to come out
and people see the type of people running this none profit plus they say they are of God? i don't think so i am a servant of God a reverend a man that truly cares about the people they do not care about you or your family nor their own employees.

The hospital has a practice of charging up front for services that insurance pays. I talked with BCBS, my insurance company, and it is perfectly legal for them to do this. It is up to the hospital. Not only do they make you pay for a service that is later credited to your account….they will not give you the money back, they just hold it until you get angry and nasty with them.

I just saw a commercial about Advent Health, stating "if you ever find yourself moving through these doors."
I have, and I had a staff member named Mary Ann tell me to stop coming in there. I got up went out and played in traffic. My experience there were bad, to put it mildly. They missed a cyst in my brain. I had to go to Tampa to get care.

This company is the worst . They screwed up my billing
Totally screwed up their job and then after they screwed up my billing they sent me to collections . I call and speak to a manager Brayton (useless as breast's on a bull) tells me oh you should have caught the mistake before it went it to collections . No, how about yall do your jobs properly, bill my insurances then you get your money and I don't get harassed by a collection agency.

Stay away from advent health as a hospital
They espouse Christian values but there is nothing Christian about them. They are shylocks in it for money and when they don't do their jobs properly they put it on you. The douche manager essentially told me to go ahead and have ny lawyer call their lawyers cause he didn't give a damn
Seriously they are incompetent with their billing so definitely do bot use this hospital. The last thing you want to do is worry about your health, have multiple insurances to cover the bill and then get screwed because they can't handle doing their jobs and ruin your credit.

Worst hospital ever..unless you are literally dying and have no choice don't come here
