Worst airline I’ve ever flown with
Worst airline I’ve ever flown with. Every flight delayed and missed our connecting flights. Some staff were very pleasant but others were so rude. Will never use this useless lot again
Lost baggage, misleading reimbursement, and zero accountability
Air France lost my checked baggage on Flight AF032 on October 1, 2025 and has handled the claim with astonishing inefficiency and disregard for basic customer care.
I submitted all required documentation promptly, including original receipts totaling USD 993.58, plus a detailed written declaration of additional items and the suitcase itself. Despite this, Air France repeatedly offered USD 474.65, an amount that does not match the receipts provided and was never explained with an itemized breakdown.
Customer Care consistently avoided direct questions, refused escalation to a supervisor, and ultimately closed my case unilaterally while falsely stating that the reimbursement reflected the receipts submitted. This is simply untrue.
Air France appears to rely on delay, vague policy references, and premature case closures rather than transparent review or accountability. Passengers are not required to keep receipts for every personal belonging, yet the airline attempts to shift the financial loss onto the customer for baggage lost under its own custody.
Over three months later, this remains unresolved. Extremely disappointing experience and not an airline I can trust with my belongings.
Both flights delayed
Both flights delayed, to and from our destination. First one, by 10 hours and second one by 4 hours.
They have rude customer service, who lack empathy when dealing with customer being stuck over night at the airport. Now dealing with claims for the 10 hour delay has been a nightmare as they are delaying the payout. EU law (Regulation EC 261/2004) mandates that airlines provide assistance for flight delays of 2+ hours and compensation (€250-€600) for delays of 3+ hours, unless caused by "extraordinary circumstances". It’s not the passengers problem that they didn’t run routine checks and there was technical faults. That’s on them as an airline. If Easyjet can honor claims, I don’t see why you need to make it difficult 5 weeks later! We lost money on our connecting flights, car rental and accommodation.
No airline perfect but I’d avoid this one!
70 euros for a bag that weighed 2 kgs…

Poor customer service
Airline delays a=occur and are part and parcel of flying. Luggage delivery delays or even losses are sadly, although way more frequent than ever, still occur. Doing all possible to make it right for the airline is important. Now, AIr France has delayed delivery of my luggage from LYS to LHR via CDG and due to the late in the day flight, I had to buy emergency clothes for the night and following day. Now, again, this happens. They stated I could buy 100gbp worth of clothes which I did..But still awaiting for the refund. It happened on 7th October 2025 and as of now, still no updates on when my claim will be processed. I chase but no news, expect asking me what was the number the delay was entered in October!!! I asked also for a letter stating delay, cause, and time luggage was finally delivered for insurance purposes, but no news...disappointing
Appalling Business Class conditions.
Booked a Business ticket to the Caribbean. Two flights - both delayed so I missed one and a half days of my precious family time. Then, in 74 years of flying I can honestly say that was the worst "business class” I have ever experienced. Hard (very worn out) seats, very little space, little privacy, no room to even stand a glass on arm of chair. Indifferent food served in a hurry - then, on a 9 hour flight, the much anticipated light meal (smoked salmon and salad - they can’t go wrong with that I thought) was NOT served because (the announcement said) the STAFF “were not rested”!!! Not even a hot drink. Definitely not worth paying the extra for this class! Save your money.
If you forget anything on the plane, consider it lost forever
I forgot my kindle in the plane. I realized as soon as I left it, but they wouldn't let me go back in. Told me to call lost and found instead. I did, and they said they will look. Never heard back. Called again a few days later, couldn't talk to a single human who could tell me they actually searched and didn't find my item. As far as I know, they never even tried.
Essentially Theft
I was delayed 9 hours in Paris on the 4th of January and have been trying to speak with a customer agent and they can't even get an agent to join me in the chat. I have sent 4 emails and receipts and nothing. The seem to have no interest in compensating people for their horrendous service and do not follow any of their compensation claims they outline on their website
Useless ...lost bags both directions
Useless ...lost bags both directions
Delayed both ways

One meal on a 13 hour flight

Heartless - if you can don’t use them
We had to book last minutes tickets to Paris (expensive) to go to my father in law funeral…we were in a hurry but because we were groupe 5 (paid for the seats raw 10 in front as well) we had to give away our cabin luggage. We explained, showed the proof of burial time. The local employee could not care less and xould not give a s… No empathy, compassion, (nothing. They are clearly heartless and did not try to help at all.
Where is my luggage
One week after, still no luggage, no update...flight cancelled...was left with 2 minors finding last min solutions. No lounge was open, no explanation, no proposals, no help. It was a war situation where even the money was worthless in front of uncertainty. All this after paying a huge amount of money on buisness tickets thinking that it would help in case of delays...
Bad Everytime
Both times I have flown with Air France, my flights have been delayed for cancelled. I'm a pretty regular flyer so I understand that these things sometimes happens but this is the most I have every had it happen with an airline. I have traveled more times than I can count and it has never been like this. I have had a connecting flight both times this has happened and the connecting flight has also been with Air france and I have missed them and then had more delays on the new connection. This time has been the worst though, My flight was delayed around two hours to my connection in Paris and then once I got to Paris I had missed my connection. I have been waiting in the queue to get a new flight for over three hours now, there are minimal staff on the desk and way to many people for them to manage. I'm also disabled and have to use a cane, I normally dont have muhc problems getting around but standing or walking for long periods of time is very painful for me and I am having to sit on the floor in the queue, as I'm travelling on my own and have no one to help me with getting a new boarding pass. I dont really have much experience with the staff on the airline as my converstations have been minimal for the most part. I would not recommed flying with this Airline, believe the reviews online, they are not worth the hassle.
UPDATE: The women at the AF desk at Paris told me my bag was already on the way to Ottawa, but it wasnt there. I had to put in a delayed baggage claim with AC (Air Canada) because my flight from Montreal was with them. Even though my bag was delayed with AF, I cant put a bag claim in with them. Its been two days since I got back and I'm still missing my bag. On top of that I cant use the AC app to track my bag because my bag wasnt with them, so I have no idea where it was, only that it was last in Paris. Im extreamly frustrated as I had all my clothing iteams, my favourite boots, which are the Buffalo brand, if you know anything about them they arent cheap and alot of other stuff. They did say it could be up to 48 hours but I find it endlessly rediculous that AF wont help even though like I said my bags where last with them.
Just taken a flight from Oslo to…
Just taken a flight from Oslo to Charles de Gaulle. Booked a business class seat at a premium price. No hot meal on the plane, just got a dry sandwich! No apologies and poor service.
I will save my money for other carriers.
Worst travel experience I have ever had
There have been horrible flight disruptions due to bad weather etc. Many flights were cancelled and delayed, and so was mine... multiple times. I understand the weather conditions are beyond the airline's control, but the customer service isn't. After days attempting to go home, the real disaster began. A terrible delay made me lose my connection flight to my final destination. When I arrived very late in the evening in Paris, exhausted from a whole day stuck at the airport in Spain, I had at least faith that the staff would be organized and present to help us with our rebooking and accommodation. I got rebooked on a flight that would be risky and unnecessarily long, and I had checked that Air France had another flight that would lead me directly home, so I naturally wanted to change my booking, to that. Wasn't allowed to do it online or through the app, and could only do it through customer support. Of course the staff could help me with something so simple, at least? Not really. First person I talked to quickly shut me down/started talking over me and said I should probably take the train, and that I should just book a hotel and ask for compensation later. Barely any energy invested into trying to help solve the problem, or help me at least with the flight issue, because they're "overwhelmed", it was said. I ignored this one and tried my luck at the desk. It was a repeat of the same. As everything around the airport was fully booked, and due to my complete unfamiliarity with this city, I decided I had to spend the night in the airport. It was a horrible, horrible feeling, as a customer, to be essentially shoved aside and given nothing but a pamphlet and some abstract promise of recompense. Also, not very nice to be in a situation, as a customer, where you've paid a hefty sum for a ticket and is basically cast to the wind, and have the staff try to make you feel bad for them because they're so overwhelmed. That's unfortunately part of the customer support's job - to properly handle a crisis, not to guilt-trip the customer for trying to get at least a fraction of the service that should have been naturally offered. Honestly, for the unreasonably expensive ticket, the very least you can expect is to have a good customer support for these crisis situations. Both KLM and Air France have shown they're incapable of managing a crisis properly. The right thing would at least be a full refund for my return ticket, not to mention the damage to my work schedule, as I also missed days at work due to this.
Missing compensation and ignored complaints
When something goes wrong it's absolutely impossible to get any support!!!! I'm a flying blue member for years, flying business and paying lots of money each time!!!! Yet again they destroyed my luggage and refused to pay. I have submitted multiple complaints, no resolution, no refund and no human to talk to. Definitely recommend to go to a different airlines.
Terrible customer service
On Air France canada customer service number for 1.45 hours and the got cut off. If the company didn't have a convenient direct flight from Ottawa to Paris I would use a better airline
Worst airline I have ever travelled…
Worst airline I have ever travelled with. Missed our connection to Tokyo because of Air France. Stuck in CDG for 13 hours. Then lost our luggage. Now refused to reimburse us anything. Customer service rude, petulant and entitled. I will never ever fly with this company again. Traveller beware.
Avoid! Disgusting
Had 4 flights with them. Not a single one was on time!!!
Delayed flights created additional complications for us, especially on return flights to our home.
Traveling with small infant and having to keep on changing ways of transport in order to make it due to your delays is so irritating!
Not to mention the premium price we paid compared with other providers.
We will make sure not to book again via your company!!!
Ryanair looks like premium service compared with you.
Shame yourself.
Terrible airline
Terrible airline, strongly not recommended. Air France caused a delay due to their own poor time management and then refused to provide any delay compensation. Aman Kumar from Air France Customer Care gave a weak excuse blaming weather conditions, even though he clearly had no idea what the actual weather was. One of the worst airline experiences I’ve had. I will have to escalate this to MTV to get it resolved.
