Hung Up Mid-Service
I waited on the customer service line for over 30 minutes to reach an actual person and once I got connected she was rude and unhelpful. As part of my service I asked her to help me rebook a flight they had messed up but she had a bit of an accent so I had to politely ask her to repeat what she was saying a few times. I guess it was a few times too many and she hung up on my without even processing my refund or rebooking my flight. If I could give air france no stars I would.
If I could rate negative stars I would
If I could rate negative stars I would. Stay far away from this "airline". Absolute horrible customer service. I don't usually complain or leave reviews but this company doesn't deserve anyone's business. Twice in two months my flights have been cancelled within an hour of the flight with no explanation. When you phone support it takes multiple calls and multiple hours to try and get anyone to resolve anything. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!
Lost all of our luggage - no customer service
Lost all of our luggage. No customer service assistance.
Travelled business to San Jose, Costa Rica.
No wifi on the plane. Food was disgusting. Then to top it off NONE of our luggage arrived. 4 large suitcases packed for a family holiday and all got left behind in Paris.
But the worst part was the complete absence of ANY customer service assistance or empathy. After repeated phone calls, 7 days later, we are still without our baggage. I will never travel with this disgrace of an airline again. Air France, you suck.
Charge 110 euro for 3kg over allowance
Charge 110 euro for 3kg over allowance. Allowance only 13kg including backpack and laptop. Luggage weight check in different location to checking counters. Had to go to check in counter because boarding pass wouldn't print, then luggage was weighed later, sent back to check in counter. All of this set us back 46 mins and had to run to make the plane, which was anyway delayed last minute.
I paid for an upgrade to business…
I paid for an upgrade to business class. $750 was a bargain for a flight from Paris to New York. My flight was delayed and then somehow I was put in economy. Fair enough. How about a refund? No such thing. I have used Whatsapp and used a direct line but no one cares. They do not respond to anything and it’s been one year of me trying. They literally embezzled my $750 and they don’t care. Do not trust this airline for anything
Avoid Air France..
Avoid Air France... I fly a lot for work... with many companies.
I booked my flight with Delta but my return flight would be handled by Air France (through Delta)... I told myself why not - let's give this a chance as I never had flew with them. That was a big mistake. Never again will I fly Air France. My delta flight from NY -> Paris was flawless. My Air France return Flight from Paris -> NY was horrible.
Finally arriving at Term 2 at CDG the self service booth had many damage. Secondly nobody official was there to help customer and those who were there try to get me to give money for charity - which those in the terminal don't. Hence Air France can't even be bothered to look for the safety of their passengers in case of fraud and misrepresentation of staff at the terminal.
After finally getting my luggage tags and boarding ticket I went to drop off my checked luggages to their conveyer belts automated drop off... It didn't worked so I had to go to another counter with a personal there waiting my turn.
After losing time I went on to security but I was stopped because apparently my carry-on was too heavy (combine weight of 12kg). During the Delta checking-in online and at the self-checkin of Air France at the airport there's no mention of its limitation or reminder of it.
I was stopped and was dragged back at the counter and told that my carry-on would cost 244 euro. Because I already dropped 2 checked luggage.
On the screen terminal during my self-check-in for the boarding pass - I was offered a tag free of charge for my carry-on as we were expecting a full flight with no extra charge. When I inquired about it... the agent completely dismissed it without giving me a chance to recheck the information. With Delta, there no such restriction as long as you have 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. And in the worse case scenario they will checked your carry-on for free at the gate if they have any safety or space issue in the cabin.
The agent even stated that all airlines do that imposing weight limits with an assured demeanor until her co-worker mention that it depends on the airline sand expand on Delta's policy. Mind you that that agent that was processing me had a very upset customer before me and now I understand how badly trained she was and many more mistakes and misinformation she would be prone to dismissively state under the companies behalf.
Broken equipments, untrained attendee, gouging customers even though the self-check terminal offered courtesy check-in for the carry-on due to a full flight.
The engineered customer flow of Air France is meant to catch you off guard and have your belongings to be withdrawn or pilling up with fees in order to keep them. This is both disingenuous and predatory. As there was no warning during check-in (on Delta's portal) or on the self-check-in counters about carry-on weight. Only on their website of Air France.
Avoid Air-France at all cost... you never know when you get an untrained personal and broken machines that will add to the stress of going through the terminal that lead to queuing for other things. Mind you I arrived 4.5 hours before departure at the terminal and with all that nonsense I only had 37 minutes to spare before boarding.
Rude cabin crew : CDG-PAU AF7496
Awful airline. Incredibly inconsiderate member of cabin crew this evening. I missed a flight in business class due to attending a medical emergency as a doctor in Dublin and had to rebook onto economy for the next available for an extra €200 despite the original ticket for the morning flight costing over €800 PUF-CDG-DUB return. Business showed no availability. This flight was already 2 hours delayed but despite the fact the entire business class security section was empty bar 2 passengers my request to sit there was refused point blank with no explanation other than that I wasn't anything special, we have 50 more Platinum members onboard. As a Platinum Member who flies twice a month on this route I think this level of service is appalling. 0 stars if I could..A multitude of other reasons to avoid AF like the website that never works, customer service lines that never answer your call, WhatsApp messages that go unanswered, stuffy overcrowded business lounges, constant excuses from flight crews. Avoid at all costs.Unfortunately I can't and unfortunately I have to add is the general level of customer service that you can expect across France not just on France's national airline. They simply don't care.
⚠️ Air France
⚠️ Air France – This Is Not OK ⚠️
We’re 5 people on the same flight, same fare, same booking class, all checked in at the same time — yet my upgrade price is FOUR TIMES higher than everyone else’s.
How can Air France justify that?
And getting help? Impossible.
Just an endless chatbot loop on WhatsApp and Messenger with no way to reach a real person.
Right now, I cannot recommend Air France to anyone.
Your pricing is inconsistent and your customer support is completely broken.
Air France, I expect an explanation.

Food allergies beware
Dangerous to eat with this airline if you have a food allergy. I have a serious nut allergy and asked whether the in flight meals were safe for me to eat; I was advised to guess which option was less likely to contain nuts as they didn’t have the allergen list available. I therefore couldn’t eat any of the meals provided from Cape Town to Paris (a 12 hr flight) because I didn’t feel like playing roulette.
Air France Customer service & refund…
Air France Customer service & refund policy is non-existent and unfriendly. Booked two non-refundable identical tickets to the UK for the same person due to a network glitch and payment error. This was not noticed until I was notified by the bank a few days later. I tried cancelling one of the tickets and till date Air France has practically refused to refund the funds all effort to reach customer care online and through the phone is a nightmare. I am made to loose over £500 through no fault of mine. This is my worst experience with an airline and would advise anyone, please stay away from Air France and pray not to have any dealing with the customer care.
Air France, poor service.
On returning to the UK after a holiday we discovered that one of our cases was missing. We reported this immediately at the airport and received a case reference number. C-11079281.We were advised that the case had been found and would be delivered back to our home.
We were not informed as to when the case would be returned and received a phone call whilst out, we asked the courier to leave it in our garage.
On arriving home the case was there minus one wheel and a large dent in the case, also the label on the case advised it had been opened for a security check.
I have sent in a report to Air France regarding this along with photos of the damaged case and value of the case.
The initial incident happened on 8th March, I phoned Air France today for an update but the advisor was unable to provide any timescale as to when our claim would be resolved.
We flew from Newcastle to Lima, Peru via Charles De Gaulle, Paris and back again and we were not very impressed with the way we were looked after by the cabin crew or the refreshments given. I would caution anyone considering flying with this company to think twice!
After calling to say I would not make…
After calling to say I would not make my flight out of Manchester to Paris but need the return leg I was told there was a charge of 150euros per passenger , when I called back I was told that isn't correct and you could only do it 24 hours before my return . I was told a manager would call me back within 24 hours which never happened . This company is a farce ! do not use this airline ever !!!!
Car seat lost, still no reimbursement after 4 months
We flew from Paris to Cancun over the Christmas holidays with our two kids (3 years old and 9 months old). Since we were staying for two weeks and renting a car, we brought both car seats with us. When we arrived, we were told that our baby’s car seat had been lost.
We understand that these things can happen, so we checked the rental options but decided to buy a new one from Walmart since it was the cheapest option, and we would need one for the trip back anyway. That said, it wasn’t ideal at all: it was bulky and not easy to carry around.
We submitted a claim online the same day and followed up several times, calling during our holiday, going early to the Cancun airport to ask in person, and checking again when we got back to Paris. We also called customer service twice and were told everything was in order and that we just needed to wait.
Then a few days ago, we got an email saying our reimbursement was rejected because we didn’t file the claim on the same day. We sent proof that we did, the case is now reopened.
It’s now been 4 months and there’s still no reimbursement. It’s already frustrating that they lost our car seat, we have one we don't like, but even more so that we’ve spent so much time chasing this, both on-site and online, and still have no resolution.
Charged $140 euros for a couple of…
Charged $140 euros for a couple of kilos over weight on suitcases. Previous airlines had no issue with weight of suitcases. Seems like a money grab.
Air France lost my baggage for 6 weeks…
Air France lost my baggage for 6 weeks back in Nov 2025 flying into Charles De Gaul. I am still seeking compensation for immediate supplies I needed to purchase. Despite providing their customer service the information they requested to complete the claim. Receipts and a list of items that I purchased to be able to have a holiday. They can not be contacted on the phone. Despite their What's App chats informing you to do so. (There only form of communication
or customer service) as endless looping emails that you can not reply to with the information and when you go to the link provided the link does not work. 5 months of this looping and I have not spoken to one customer service person to get my claim resolved. Fly with Air France at your peril.
The €1,200 Air France Chainsaw Massacre
I went skiing with friends in Chamonix 3 weeks ago. Oh, how nice, the reader thinks to him/herself. Yes, it would've been, replies I.
Flew from GOT, via CDG, to GVA. Brought my own ski bag (€139) with skis (€785) and bindings (€222) that had seen a grand total of ~2 weeks of usage. Upon landing I received a text from Air France that the ski bag had been lost along the way. Oh well, I think hopefully, they'll find it - and they did!
It takes until the 7th before we manage to schedule delivery, but that's all right, it's Chamonix, one can rent interesting equipment.
But then my own stuff arrives...
The ski bag was so badly torn in several places that someone had wrapped 5 cable ties around it to keep the whole thing together. The skis were badly cracked in 2 places. One binding was ripped clean off, the other bent out of shape. At first I just sat there, trying to understand what they possibly COULD have done to ruin the stuff so completely - Did they drag it behind a truck from Sweden to France? Toss it from a plane? Did it then land among a pack of hungry grizzly bears? Why even deliver the things instead of calling me and saying "Uh, sorry Peter, something seems to have happened"? So many questions.
All right. Disappointment, but I filed a claim, thinking that this must be an extremely straightforward case. I attached pictures of the carnage + receipts for ski rental (€126).
I received an reply from Air France saying they're sorry for ruining my baggage and that they "..don't want me to be out of pocket as a result of this situation" and are "pleased to reimburse me" €99.
I replied, cordially, that this was not acceptable in any way, shape or form. I attached pictures of the equipment from before the trip for easy comparison with the murder victims. No answer.
I emailed a kind reminder after a week. No answer.
Last night I received an automated Air France email asking me to review my recent experience with their customer service. I nearly had a stroke.
Dear Air France team, you have ruined my equipment. There is no possibility on God's green earth that I will accept anything less than the equivalent of new equipment. This is the case reference: C-11086904, please don't hesitate to get back at your earliest convenience.
Kind regards
Peter
Air France is possibly the worst…
Air France is possibly the worst airline I have ever flown with. Old planes, poor service, terrible food, zero information and a customer service whose sole purpose is to make it as difficult as possible for you as a customer. Flight from CDG to Cancun was cancelled with 1 hour's notice and without any explanation. They were not sure they could get the whole family of 5 on the same flight the next day. Now, almost 3 months later, they still have not paid any compensation as they are obliged to do by European law. They refuse to answer, and every time you get a hold of someone, it is just a bunch of excuses that they will look into the matter. I do not recommend anyone to fly Air France if they can choose another company
22/3/2026 Today i flew with air france…
22/3/2026 Today i flew with air france to hong kong from london. The check in staff that were working the 8:55 flight were absolutely brilliant 👌🏻 I would definitely recommend flying with Air France as their customer service and staff are very helpful.
Air France lost my bag on my return trip from Chile to Scotland
Air France lost my bag on our return trip from Chile to Scotland.
I was originally told it would be on the next flight out and I would receive it within 2 days.
Nearly 3 months later I do not have my bag.
We were on a hiking trip to Chile and hence had nearly £2,000 worth of hiking clothes in the bag.
Air France have, generously in their view, offered £500 to replace the contents.
They state they won't offer the full amount because we don't have receipts for our clothes.
What a joke. Who keeps receipts for all their clothes purchased over years.
Someone from Air France can contact me or this is going to small claims court.
