Luggage lost and AF managed to avoid honouring the associated costs.
Luggage lost on a long haul flight. On Holiday for just over 2 weeks. Put our claim in for the essentials we had to buy to find there was a 21 day cutoff. 16 days on a boat ensured that we missed their deadline to send docs in.
This sort of stunt is just very low rent and unnecessarily tight. You are wriggling out of your obligations.
Air France is a terrible airline that hates its customers
Air France is an airline that blatantly has no concern for its customers and is absolutely the worst in customer service. We barely missed our outbound flight on a round-trip to Valencia from Seattle in April. This was our fault, no doubt, and we had to buy one-way tickets for the following day as a result. Understandable. Air France informed us (after waiting 45 minutes to talk to a condescending "customer service" rep) that to use the return tickets that we already paid for they would charge us a 500 euro per ticket fee. For what, I asked, since they were not inconvenienced in the least - the rep was unable to explain how their airline might be inconvenienced, but did offer to re-read the terms slower so that I might understand.
We ended up having our claim denied in that same snotty manner, because Air France thinks so little of their customers that they can price-gouge them in order to use tickets that we had already paid for. 1500 euros, 500 per ticket. Seriously - these guys don't care about service, they don't care about you and they are what is wrong with the Airline Industry. Use Lufthansa instead, or Delta directly (many AF flights in US are through Delta anyway, so why give these a-holes money when you can go direct to Delta).
Air France bumped me off their flight
Air France bumped me off their flight - but tried to claim that the flight had been cancelled ( apparently the CDG website was in error and the flight in progress was a “ghost flight”).
They clearly have a policy of avoiding EU261 rights by pretending the flights are cancelled.
Shocking that Air France aren’t honest with customers
Air France customer service proved to…
Air France customer service proved to be shockingly bad in their handling of claims. We traveled with the company in December to have the bad surprise of being left without a luggage on our arrival. It turns out that the company had left 100 luggage behind before take off. We were told to come back the day after. After driving back to the airport, still no sign of the luggage. This one eventually showed up 24h later at the airport. Once back to London, we filed a claim for the clothes bought due to this mix up. 5 months later, this claim has been opened but not answered. This is just unacceptable. Needless to say that we won’t be taking this company again. High fares leading to terrible customer experience.
Really disappointed with both Air…
Really disappointed with both Air France and Hertz over a recent car rental booking — and we’re still fighting to get this resolved.
We booked and paid for a prepaid rental through Air France, which was actually recommended on their website. Everything seemed straightforward, but when we arrived to pick up the car, Hertz refused to release it due to conditions that were never clearly explained during the booking process.
Since then, it’s been incredibly frustrating. Air France says it’s Hertz’s responsibility, and Hertz says it’s Air France’s. We’ve been going back and forth between the two with no solution, no accountability, and still no refund — despite paying in full for a service we never received.
It honestly feels like once something goes wrong, neither company is willing to step up and help, and you’re just left stuck in the middle trying to sort it out yourself.
We are still actively trying to resolve this, but based on our experience so far, I would strongly advise others to be very cautious when booking third-party services through airline platforms. Personally, I wouldn’t use Air France for this again, and I’d think twice before using Hertz as well.
Very poor service
Very poor service, they canceled my flight and rebooked me on the following day without providing hotel accomodation or voucher.
AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs!
The flight from Manchester was ok, crew were friendly no issues whatsoever. The flight from Paris to Punta Cana was again OK crew were friendly. Arrived in Punta Cana but my case didn't. The Air France representative went away, came back to say there were two cases left on the carousel but neither were mine. Off he went again and never came back, the airport was empty apart from us and a few staff. The only way to contact AF is via social media- WhatsApp or FB messenger they give absolutely no information just be patient, check the website which hasn't been updated in three weeks meanwhile I was holiday with few clothes and no toiletries. I have tried ringing since getting home again they do not want to know. Customer Service/ care is non existent. It is 3 weeks since my case went missing and no update whatsoever
I will never fly AF again because of the lack of customer care.
The only company that always denies you…
The only company that always denies you cabin baggage. They are not a low coaster but still somehow I had never had this problem with anybody else.
Generally a poor experience
Generally a poor experience. The flight ran out of any alcohol by the first trolley service. Staff were incredibly rude regarding the seats being put back. They told my daughter put her seat up during meal times, which is absolutely fine and I agree with, but did not enforce the same to the people in front which made no sense. When we asked them to apply the same standards to the people in front we got a shrug and nothing more. Meal time was also very odd, they forgot to give us the hot part of the meal, and then accused us of lying that we hadn’t received it.
Disorganized timing of serving and clearing meal trays
Horrible Airline
I am appalled by the operational incompetence I experienced at Charles de Gaulle. After enduring already long waiting times, Air France staff began a predatory screening of all hand luggage.
Even though my bags were within the size dimensions, I was informed that because they exceeded the 12kg limit, I had to leave the security line entirely. I was forced to:
1. Go back to the check-in counters.
2. Queue for an eternity just to pay a surcharge.
3. Queue all over again for security.
The lack of staff and the refusal to handle these payments at the gate or a dedicated service desk is a massive failure in logistics. It felt like a deliberate attempt to squeeze money out of passengers while making the airport experience as stressful as possible.
For a "premium" national carrier, this level of "low-cost airline" behavior is embarrassing. If you are flying through CDG, be warned: they will sacrifice your time and your flight connection to enforce minor weight discrepancies.
Date of experience: April 2026
Would give 0 stars if possible
Would give 0 stars if possible. Flight attendants were rude and confrontational when our flight was delayed, causing us to miss our next flight (also booked with AirFrance). In fact, they initially ignored my call for assistance and hid in the galley. Instead of being booked onto the next available flight we were booked onto one over 12 hours later, and were only offered €15 initially to cover expenses while stranded. After we had visited the help desk several times and dismissed we were given another €15. While we missed a full day of a once in a lifetime trip, my chronically ill parents were left to sleep on uncomfortable airport chairs, and my dietary requirements were ignored on the 13 hour flight we were later rebooked on, AirFrance claim that we are not entitled to ANY compensation. I would not recommend this airline to anyone after such an uncomfortable and genuinely upsetting experience.
Very disappointed
Unfortunately, there is no lower than 1 star. Starting with a customer service person, who refused even to pass me to the manager, until the cop-like behavior of the flight attendants, and to the absolutely terrible service. The only positive thing I can say, is that they didn't have delays.
Never again please avoid it
Never again please avoid it . Trust me it is the worst airline ever and the customer is unhelpful poor service and pure scam .
Cocky young guy..black long fuzzy…
Cocky guy..black long fuzzy beard. Not bothered, looks like he doesn't deserve a job or cares about people. Had the displeasure of watching him work on the desk 10 April 2026 on the Airfrance/ KLM desk. Luckily he didn't serve me and a lovely young lady under pressure probably pick up his slack served me and was nice. 2 hours not enough to que and check in bags. ...had to run to gate which I thought was gate 42. I had my 6 year old girl and we were running. Cocky bloke was standing there looking Cocky in his AF jacket that look dirty and the collar. I said they make us empty our water then run...he said ' I didn't make you do anything'. I said well I hope they give us a bottle if water on the flight. He said ' probably Ashley cup with a smirk on his face'. My hands were shaking from running and i couldn't scan my boarding card as it would not lay flat. I said ' can't you help me' as he smirked and watched me struggle. AF your already compromised with bad reviews. Get rid of these types of characters. It doesn't give much hope for your other staff when they having to cover for this idiots like this. They drag you and your other staff down. So Gate 42 on the Birmingham- Amsterdam flight 10th April
Stephanie deserves a raise!
Stephanie deserves a raise!
We were flying BCN to BHX via CDG and, due to a delay, had almost no time to make our connection. Stephanie, the cabin manager, was absolutely incredible.
She stayed calm, reassured us throughout, and went above and beyond—arranging for us to be rushed through passport control and even organising a VIP transfer straight to the plane. We made it within seconds, and it was entirely thanks to her.
I have flown hundreds of times and have never experienced service like this. She is a true credit to Air France.
Thank you, Stephanie—you were amazing!

AVOID at all costs !!
AVOID at all costs!
Due to a delay on our original flight we missed our connecting flight. Left stuck in Pairs airport for 14 hours. Was given €15 that was ment to be enough for food and drink for all that time. When I questioned this I was met with ‘OMG’. The AirFrance staff at the airport were sooooo rude and unhelpful the manger Manuel was just the same. Spoke over me, offered no apology or help. We incurred hundreds pounds worth of expense due to this delay and missed a day of our once in a life time trip in memory of my late brother. Called to chase the compensation and also the refund of expense and the staff on the phone line are just as rude. Had the phone put down on me twice after holding for over 20 mins each time. Was told that there was no way I could make a complaint about the mannerisms of the staff and the way they speak to paying customer. Some serious training need to be undertaken on how all staff speak to customers!!
I would suggest everyone thinks twice before booking with this company as if you have any problems they do not care at all !
OMG i have been bounced around from one…
OMG i have been bounced around from one department to another another with no acceptable result !!!! Air France Panama took a booking issued a confirmed receipt with confirmed seats times dates etc when we arrived at airport our booking was not active “ WITH NO CORRESPONDENCE FROM AIR FRANCE PAMAMA” at all !! When I rang them they admitted out right they had made a mistake and was waiting for me to ring them !!!! We consequently missed our flight connecting us to another flight for our Greece holiday and having to choose another Airline to get us where we needed to be at a considerable extra cost to us !!! This also resulted in us not being able to return home as planned causing extra cost of accommodation
Etc when a complaint was sent in I received message to say your request for refund or equivalent points does not meet our criteria !!!! I then approached Air France - France to be told it’s not their problem as I need to consult with Panama office who will not respond to my needs …. Dozen of emails stress and total amazement at the lack of responsibility acknowledge by Air France in general as a company ….. this is from Platinum members who will not use or recommend Air France to anyone !!!!
Hung Up Mid-Service
I waited on the customer service line for over 30 minutes to reach an actual person and once I got connected she was rude and unhelpful. As part of my service I asked her to help me rebook a flight they had messed up but she had a bit of an accent so I had to politely ask her to repeat what she was saying a few times. I guess it was a few times too many and she hung up on my without even processing my refund or rebooking my flight. If I could give air france no stars I would.
